Problems with the headset you get in the box (RC E160) - HD2 Accessories

So hi guys, ive got this strange problem that noone else seems to experience.
As the titel says its about the headeset found in the box. The problem is that the remote stopped responding, i still hear sound and music but the mic and buttons are disabled in some way.
I found this in the context of the press release.
"- Hold switch to lock/unlock the remote control"
And that seems pretty accurate to what could have happend with my remote, but i cant find any "switch" button they refer to. Ive also removed the buttons by hand to see if any cable has been damaged or ripped of in some way. But everything seems intact.
So what could have happend? There havent been any accidents etc so it some random damage issue seems not to be the case.

Are you running a custom rom, as it may affect what the buttons control

HTC Diamond headphones autodial problem

I have an wierd problem in my htc touch diamond.
Everytime i connect the headphones it tries to autodial a name in my contacts list.
And if i connect the radio it doest it nonstop... i heard the "bip" and then its like if it wanted to dial a name...
It sounds strange..but it is like that.
hope somenone knows what im talking about cause im gettting nuts...
Spanish original vodafone rom, not that many programs installed, although started doing it after installing thumbcal and pocketmax alarm today.. although I dont think that is the problem since i restored with spb backap a 1 month ago backup i made and still same headphones problem.
Have checked the headphone button.. and it seems to be ok (at first I though if maybe was stuck..)
Got the same problem. Did anyone know how to solve it?
sounds to me like a faulty headset. Try to connect a different set of headphones and see if it acts the same way.
I got same problem
Hi, your problem solved? my HTC diamond got the same problem, so irritating.
I have the same problem, I was told it was that the button on the headphones was too sensitive, so as I never use it I ripped the button off.
It isn't nearly as bad but still does it sometimes.
My friend with the same phone says that this fixed his though.
I think I need to have another go at it, see if I can stop it properly.
Ok, so I pulled the cover from the button on the headphones and ripped out all of the metal button that is attached to the board inside.
It's certainly working so far.
headphones HELP PLEASE!!!
hey guys i picked a pair of headphones from the store they fit my htc daimond and all but wen i plug them in nuthing happens wen i plug ionto to my razr or slvr they work fine is there an app that can help change this or something please help
HTC headphones auto dial problem finally solved!!!!
guys,I am using HTC Touch Pro2,I have same problem when headphone is plugged into HTC touch pro2;
Description of symptom:
Sometimes when you touch or move the wires of headphone, the phone will automatically dial back the first number in your call hisory (it's not "contacts list" as this poster said),the problem is not stable, when you deliberately fiddle with the wires of headphone hoping to find out what is the problem,it doesnt auto dial, while when you casually try to adjust the position of the wires to make yourself comfortable,it auto dials!
People completely have no idea what is going on,like it's a ghost behind it.
I initially believed that maybe the movement of the wires shakes the USB slot, which triggers internal electronic touching or somthing.
Like others,I checked whether there is some button along the wires of headphone,I found none, thus this mystery remains forever.
However, the other day, suddenly I did find a button in the wire. Now pls look at your HTC headphone, the middle of the black box(where two wires are jointed) is the button! the cover of this box is clickable, pls try to click it sveral times, the phone will auto dial.
it is now clear that this clickable cover (button) is specifically designed to auto dial back the call when you use headphone.
The button is so sensitive that even small touch will make it execute.
I had the same problem
I had this annoying problem and i sent my phone in service. I got a new pair of headphones and after some time (~1 year) same problem occured. I think this are the crappiest headphones i ever seen . THX HTC ) anyone found any good headphones (not necessarily original) that I can buy?
same problem
Had the same problem. It's caused by faulty wiring in the headphones. Mine do the calling when the wire at the end of the connector gets wiggled into certain positions (i.e. when I keep it in my pocket or in my hand while running). It's really annoying especially since this is my 3rd set in as many months that has this problem.
I've also noticed that Orange is selling them at a quarter of the price they had in December. I'm guessing they're trying to get rid of them since the new models from htc come with standard headphone jacks.
Only sure fire solution to the problem is getting a new pair.
Same here.
There are other threads about this problem.
Still looking for a solution like, let's say a registry hack that disables the headset button...
HELP

Phone stuck in "headphone mode" (PLEASE HELP)

For somereason, my phone is stuck in Headphone mode.
like on the top corner, it shows that my phone is still in headphone state.
the problem is that even when my headphone is unplugged my phone is still in that state...
...meaning that, without my headphones plugged in, the other party cannot hear me and i cannot hear them.
i tried soft and hard resetting the phone, but nothing works.
Everything else is working phone, it just that i cannot make a call, answer a call, listen to music without my headphone....
Any help or tips is greatly appreciated.
Thanks alot!!
it already happend to my phone.. what i did is i connect the headset again and did remove my battery and remove the headset then turned on the phone again and the headset icon disappears.
if your problem still continues, i guess you should go to sony ericsson for replacement it seems your jack is grounded or alike. i heard that the jack is somewhat tight and could put a groove in you headset male jack.
PROBLEM SOLVED....
http://www.portability.nl/windows-m...artphone-stuck-in-headset-or-car-profile.html
apparently its a hardward problem...
I had the same problem. This is what i did put your headset back in turn windows media player on now start a song and pull out the headset. Now it should get out of headset mode. Thats what has been working for me twice.
The other thing to watch for too, and this was a big problem with the older model HTC/SPV Devices, is that the detection switch inside the socket gets stuck.
I had this happen many times on my various SPV's up until HTC Started producing models where the headphones plugged into the mini USB.
If it does happen to be the switch getting stuck, you can try plugging in the headset and wiggling it about a bit, or i found that a wooden cocktail stick was a rather good device, to just poke in and rattle about a little bit.

the stylus is good too.
Hi there,
got the same problem. Tried everything, soft- and hard-reset, cleaned the connector with some alcohol....
Just before i got in the mood to open the case to have a deeper look at the connector, i stumbled over here

This also worked for me
As a conclusion, i think there are several reasons (as usual ) that lead to this problem.
It may partly rely on the connector itself, e.g. bad "on" resistance of the contacts or mechanical twisted in any way.
Maybe some of the internal pull-up resistors are to weak also.
Additionally the software driver may have some issues, to indicate the "plug out" properly.
I also had such issue on HTC universal once upon a time.
It was also partly software related. In other words some "plug-in-plug-out" loops while playing some music solved the issue on that device.
Anyway, this maybe called another weird bug on a winmob platform.
Thanks for the hint again!!!
Best regards,
scholbert
It's me again
I wonder if these headphone problems had gone with the latest firmware.
With R1AA017 the "headphone mode" issue could be reproduced a 1000 times.
1. Today screen, plug in the headphone
2. plug out headphone, headphone symbol stays active
3. plug in headphone again and start WM player
4. start some music, plug out headphone, symbol is gone, sound from the speaker
EDIT:
As it seems with R2AA006 the "headphone mode" issue is gone.
1. Today screen, plug in the headphone, headphone symbol appears
2. plug out headphone, headphone symbol disappears
Works as it should!
Anyway, please report if you ever got these problems and what kind of firmware you are using.
Let's try to concentrate on stock images (R2... , R3...), otherwise this would get very confusing
Cheers,
scholbert
sent it back for repair ... this happened to me twice and i sent it back for repair and the problem was with the headphone not the phone itself
Hi it happened to me as well. so after few times i was pi.... off and i send it to back to SE repair centre. and i also claim a crack in case. and believe or not they fix it in 12 days. That means SE knows those problems very well. my advise is dont be shy and send it there , they will fix it without any hassle.
try to drain the battery and charge it back up.
I also sent it back. After 5 weeks the idiots at SE Service returned it unrepaired, charged me 40 €, and claimed that the phone was once opened (it was not).
Will now buy an HTC or Nokia. Never ever again an SE.
It Got Solved
Hi It's very simple take your stylus and insert it into the headphone socket and move very gently, It will solve the problem.
For me it had worked always.
Weird but works
Hi all
ive been having the same prob here ... :
phone remains in headset mode even after jack is unplugged.
have been trying:
turning registry entry
blowing (worked at very rare times )
stylus/ pin playing ..
till now, no good solution
my request:
is there a way ( cab install, registry hack) so as to disable the whole of the headset.. its ok if i dont use it anymore.. ! i want it software, like some sort of software to disable the headset module completely ...
awaiting reply.
thanks & Regards,
Yeah I think there is a way. If you search for when I posted about this last year I think someone says how to do it in the comments.
Lots of people seem to be claiming that software tricks can solve this problem. If that worked for you, that's a co-incidence. Even re-flashing a different ROM won't sort out a mechanical fault. Just go get a safety pin.
my experience about the headphone problem
First time, when happaned I was crazy, because I coudn't answer a call and the phone looks like was broken. I suggest,(not a big deal) to close the player program prior you disconnet you headphone or in radio panel mode, to swicth to speaker listenig first and then plug off headphone. Nothing else, don't worry
Well, since I'm using a new phone I've decided I'm going to open my phone up to manually fix this problem as for me, what happened was, a very tiny screw got lodged within the headphone jack. I managed to get the screw out but I think I damaged the connector responsible for signaling that a headset is plugged in.
I have one problem however, I dont have the security screwdrivers nessary to gain access so I'm wondering, if anyone know any tricks to open the phone up. I've heard I can use locktite to bond the screw to whatever I want to use however that would be something I'd consider if I cant think of anything else. Until then I'll try using a screw driver just large enough to wedge itself in place and unscrew but if anyone has any ideas or suggestions, please if you would be so kind.
In the meantime if I make any headway I'll let you know what happens. (Does anyone want to know anything if I do open it up?).
Ok I opened it up... Let me tell you it certainly was difficult. My phone had suffered the cracking problem which made it somewhat hard to take apart without it falling to bits but I managed nevertheless.
As I peeled away parts of the phone to get to the small headphone jack, I instantly found the problem, the little clip that performs as the switch to headset mode was buckled... I got some really tiny pliers and I managed to re-bend it however, the clip wasn't touching the contact switch! *RAGE*. So I play around with it a little more and realise hang on... it's moving too much, I then noticed that the clip was actually cracked *ANGER*.
So I decided... ok, off goes the clip. I permanently soldered the connection instead and hey presto, no more headset mode, of course this means, I can never use headset mode but that's not a problem for me.
If anyone wants any help, please feel free to ask . I managed to give the keyboard a clean also! (No more double presses or keys that dont respond either!).
With this goddamn problem, is it possible to connect stereo bluetooth with sound?

Answering the last question: YES it should work as bluetooth audio has nothing to do with the headphone jack and I normally used bluetooth headset with the headphone mode stucked
coming back to topic It seems it is depending on case more soft or hardware-related. in my case it was rather hardware, no mediaplayer/radio method helping and putting stylus in helped only two times.
So I used compressed air to blow through the jack and then cleaned it with the earbud head/material ONLY (as the bud does not fit in) on a wooden stick (but then you might have hard times to pull the rest of the budhead out)
Anyways it worked, so far after many tries to make sure it doesn't get stucked !
I guess in future WD40 may be even better
Man this phone is so good and yet so full of bugs !!

[Q] Volume control problem

Hello
So, I bought used xperia x1 to use it as remote for my HTPC, but It has one big issue - volume control bubble sometimes starts poping like crazy so it stops me from normal using of apps, and when I plug in headset It get's even worse.I upgrades sw and done hard reset but nothing helps so I assume it's hardware issue.I don't really need sound on this phone or something so I was wondering if there's something I could do in registry to completely disable audio jack input or all bubble tips?I tried HKCU/Contro Panel/Notifications but I didn't find anything. And when I start android with haret then android's bubble pops all the time too.
Code:

pops out like crazy!

Help with sound issue

Hope somebody can help please? My Zuk Z2 Pro has lost the earpiece sound when on a phone call. People can hear me, but I cannot hear them. I am sure its a software problem but not sure how to permanently fix it.
I ran a manual engineering test by typing *#*#1111#*#* and checked the speaker and the microphone in settings, they are fine. However, the ‘Rec’ setting wont play any sound to the earpiece.
I have read its a known issue and installing the app mswitch (keycut) worked, but it didnt. I then read about switching off "OK Google", well on a Zuk this is not easy to find, so am not even sure I was able to disable this app.
EDIT: After more investigation I have found that when I turn the voice volume up in ringer settings it does nothing, which I think may be the speaker itself. My wife has the same phone and hers works normally. There are three ringer volumes, and the middle one does nothing but I know it did yesterday
I then tried another app called "Soundabout". This worked and allowed the Rec setting in the engineering side of the phone to play a sound, like an increasing oscillalation of sound. I then restarted the phone and it worked, but not permanently. The app doesn't seem to stay working.
However, when I made a phone call the earpiece speaker still didnt work. I could not hear anybody but they could hear me.
However, it does work when headphones are plugged in.
Does anyone know if a factory reset of the software would help as I am stuck and desperate for help. It just suddenly stopped working yesterday, so am puzzled as to why. The phone is just less than 12 months old, so not particular aged and it has always been in a case and well looked after. Its running stock Android 6 with the ZUI overlay from Zuk, so no changes made to it.
I have de same problem. Two months ago the speakers decreased the volume and microphone does not work properly.
I replaced the usb + mic piece, but the problem remains the same. Now, I have ordered speakers piece, but I guess the problem will continue.
The only thing I can think is the origin of the issue could be the bluetooth earphones that in some way had changed the sound configuration.
Try to qfil ZUI 1.9, if that does ot help then its hardware problem most likely.

Finally I have found the origin of the problem. It was in the dust filters of the phone. I used an special liquid for the screen protector. Some of this liquid goes to the filters. I have cleaned this filter with a brush teeth.
It is silly and I feel dumb.
Simple fix
Please do not feel dumb or stupid as this is something we don't think about.
The problem is due to dust and fabric accumulation. I just had this problem.
The fix is simple.
Use something soft to bang your receiver. In my case i used the tip of my finger. You want to the bang to be good but not to break the glass. My finger hurts a bit so I think a small rubber hammer will do the job.
Hope this helps.
Clean earpiece protector
Hi, I had the same issue and after trying all software tweaks with no success, what I have done is use a toothbrush to clean the tiny holes from the earpiece protector. I pushed some brush bristles gently through the holes and... it worked!!!
Hope it helps.

Mute is pressed when screen off / same for pause in music player

Hey people,
Kudos for the wonderful work in this forum, first of all!
Bought a new P9 and there's a constant problem where Mute is pressed when screen is off (or in pocket) while on call / same for pause in music player (VLC).
touch disable mode is turned on in the settings btw,
I also downloaded 2 apps which should keep the phone locked in pocket and they don't really help
I really don't know what else to to do...
Thanks,
Dima.
Quick update
Experimented with the phone today and found out it's probably a problem with the earbud with mic I'm having, also tested the phone with another pair and same problem.
It seems that the mic-button is pressed somehow, triggered by the touchscreen.
I don't know, maybe the P9 is only compatible to Huawei earbud+mic...
Anyone else experienced something similar?
