Verizon HTC Diamond - Touch Diamond CDMA

I have a problem unlocking my HTC Diamond from Verizon to cook different roms. I've tried the cmonex CDMA Verizon/Sprint hard spl from ppcgeeks but it keeps telling me that it's an Unknown Model ID. Are the verizon diamond just not unlockable for cooked roms or it just my phone that's being stupid?

Branded Diamond or Factory Unlocked

I have a dilemma now,
Rogers apparently has the diamond. Should I go and get it there or get it factory unlocked?
Any input?
I guess it depends on if they fill it up with their own crud software or just give you the phone standard.
rogers diamond
Just bought a locked Rogers branded HTC Diamond and sold my unlocked EU/Asia Diamond. Now I want my EU/Asia Diamond back since I find it more stable, faster and better gps function. Unless I can unlock and flash my Rogers phone.

Just got a new Diamond... but... WHAT KIND IS IT?

I just got an HTC Touch Diamond a couple days ago, but browsing this forum, I'm not sure where to start.
First of all, I live in Winnipeg, Canada, and even on the HTC Website it only shows Telus, Bell, and Rogers as selling HTC products in Canada. I've got MTS. I wouldn't be worried (it's probably a Bell phone) but I go into this forum and there's people going 'Oh it's a CDMA only thing!' and I don't know if my phone is CDMA or not, or if it's even a Diamond 2 or a Diamond 1... anyone know how I'd find out?
Thanks.
if it don't have a sim slot it would be cdma
well I looked everywhere, no SIM card slot as far as I see, so I guess it's CDMA. Thanks.

in which case be careful that you only flash CDMA ROM's on your Diamond.
Check the model # on the label under the Battery. It should be just above the white portion of the label. {i.e. HTC P3700 DIAM100 ... <this is mine}. Then clicke the "Device Database" link at the top of this page. enter your model # in the search area of PDADB {top left}. This will tell you all you need to know about your phone.
Also: GSM phones use IMEI #'s & CDMA Use ESNs for identification. {NEVER give these #s out}

My HTC Touch diamond has never been recognized by HTC!!!

Quick story:
I bought it off dell.com like 2 years ago. I saw there was an update for it, so I went on HTC's website and put in my S/N. It said it didn't recognize it. I tried returning it to dell, but it was after the 15 day return period. So, I got screwed...and out of frustration I just cut my losses, forgot to put it on ebay, and threw it in the closet.
What should I do? I'm thinking about just installing a custom rom on it and throwing it to a friend but there are too many....any recommendations on what my next step should be?
Oh yea, to note, this is the GSM version of the HTC Touch Diamond. I've seen roms for the CDMA version...but not the GSM
I have a same issue but I always use custom rom therefore I don't care about it.
Is it a branded diamond?
The HTC site doesn't allow you to update branded Diamonds. For example, it doesn't recognize the S/N for my O2 branded Diamond.
Just put in a custom rom, they're much better than the official ones albeit more prone to bugs. Try different roms to see which you like best. Don't forget the flash the HARD SPL first.

normal ROMs are for GSM, if it says CDMA, then its for the CDMA.
Hi guys
I head the same problem during a support.
It is surely due to the fact that the mobile is "branded".

[Q] What Is CDMA?

Hello All,
I Just Got A HTC Diamond Recently
But I Want To Flash A New Rom On It
But I See A ROM On CDMA Page...
The Question Is...
Is CDMA ROM Same As Standart ROM?
Can CDMA ROM Flash To A Daimond That Runs WM 6.1 Oficial ROM?
Thanks,

CDMA is not a type of ROM, it is the type of device. When they invented the Diamond, they built a foreign version with really bad battery life, a front facing camera, and a really weird design that you put SIM Cards into. This is the GSM version. You can use these on American Telephone and Telegraph Wireless or T Mobile, but data will not work correctly. The CDMA version was an improved version of the Diamond they released later on that works on CDMA Carriers that have no SIM Cards, specifically Alltel, Verizon, and Sprint (some CDMA models from No name "piggyback" carriers were created also). The CDMA Sprint one is the most commonly recognized Diamond.
The easiest way to check is to see if you've got a really weird battery cover or a normal one. The SIM Card slot check works pretty well too.

[Q] How to carrier unlock AT&T the standard way?

Hi I have an HTC ONE from Sprint.
I contacted HTC directly since Sprint was hella not cool with carrier unlocking my phone as usual.
The free methods to carrier unlock simply do not work AT ALL.
I have carrier unlocked T-Mobile and AT&T phones no problem in the past. The phone simply goes through the standard unlock process with the PIN and What not which I have now.
Do I need a Custom RUU to NUKE the complete crap Sprint Restrictions Galore and have a Standard Android phone with ZERO signs of Sprint?
I hate seeing Sprint all over on this thing it's so locked down it almost seems IMPOSSIBLE to carrier unlock it.
It supports the GSM AT&T bands so it should work.
..................................................................................
From HTC DIRECT - They Sent me the Unlock Code for my IMEI. They said Sprint has a High Level Encryption Enabled and it must be Normal Encryption to unlock it... Sprint freaks out about me not wanting to pay them Hundreds a Month for their service and won't Help at ALL.
HTC Model
HTC One (Sprint USA)
IMEI XXXXXXXXXXXXXX0
Unlock Code
XXXXXXX1

I have worked with some Sprint HTC One's and their no different that the GSM One as far as unlocking the bootloader and flashing roms is concerned. Sprint is a CDMA service and their One has a different partition structure, so it's Critical you use only Custom Recovery / Rom's designed for Sprint.
If your goal is to unlock the phone I would use the sieempi method (choose HTC Amaze as your device).
Then to rid your phone of the Bloatware simply unlock the bootloader, flash TWRP, and flash a custom rom.
