screen lock - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know there are a couple screen lock's on the market place but they are junk from what I read and can be bypassed by just restarting the phone. Is there a way to password your screen other then the pattern lock. I would like to use an actual password. Would it be possible to come up with something with a rooted phone?

You can achieve that with PocketShield 3.3 (currently beta) by setting the following options:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}

Edit: Sorry, wrong forum. This is for Windows Mobile only.

Although this method can still be circumvented because the phone will be unlocked momentarily before the security app loads... perhaps difficult to circumvent but possible nevertheless.
It does depend on what you want to secure... setting a SIM PIN may meet your needs and is surely more secure (on the radio side of the game) than any app you can download.
Perhaps the combination of the two would provide the security you need?
Keep in mind, if you use an app this will not prevent somebody booting into recovery and taking all of your data. A SIM PIN won't prevent this either but at least your SIM data and your radio (carrier) connection will always be safe. If they take your data then they can log on as you. Take care to secure your nandroid backups too!

Screen shot software

Anyone know where i can download some? Just want to take a screen shot of my Tilt.
Google for GetPDAScreen. It's software that you run from your pc while connected over activesync. I prefer it over most of them that you install on your phone and then have to tranfer the files back over to you pc when you want to upload them or something, but there are quite a few of them if you want to install it to your phone.
getpdascreen is probably is the best one, it doesn't need to be installed on the phone or your PC.
I use Ilium Software Screen Capture. Its free (well i guess it is since I've never paid for it). It does get installed on your phone. So, the disadvantage there is I can't take a screenshot of it when the key's are locked, i.e. my screen saver...
Update: Actually, I just noticed it has a "Timer" function, so it lets me take a snapshot on a delay, so I could just get a pic of my screensaver...haha

Thanks did the Illium software. It's not bad. I used to run software on my 8125 was really great can't remember. I will work with this. Thanks again. Pics for giggles...

You can also take a look at My Mobiler. It does a LOT more than just screen captures. You can navigate your phone from your desktop PC.

Please help

I just got a new g1 and after i registered it everything i click flashes on the screen then closes real fast. i cant even power it off becuz i will say the device options menu and it will close.
did you try pulling the battery to force a reboot?
yes i did and now im stuck at a caution screen
you need to give more details.... rom: modded or stock. if modded, which one
use proper grammar (or atleast so its descriptive and readable)
give more details on whats on the screen
Okay, I am sorry for the grammer. I bought the g1 off ebay and figured out how to use adb to activate it with wifi. I then started using the phone and everything would close as soon as it opened. I think it is a regular tmobile stock rom and i downgraded it to rc29.
maybe this will help you put your mind at ease

never mind, that might have made it worse
OMG HE DIED?!?!? WTF WHEN!??! HOW?!?
if your running the regular rom idk what you can do other than reflash your rom
find 1.6tmobile ota update and flash it. its probably caused by permissions issues
but theres no way to fix it without root
so you do or you dont have root? what screen exactly are you seeing when you take the battery out and turn it on?

phone overheats with multiple users (lollipop)

ok, maybe I overstated saying that phone overheats (now I can't change thread title) but the thing is, if I use my phone normally, like anyone would, battery life is just fine, nothing impressive, but no big deal, but if I switch to my second user profile (i don't need to do anything there, just log on, and log back to main profile again), then the task with the name of my other user will be the most battery consuming thing currently active. let me post a screenshot:

"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
alright, perhaps it makes sense, since it's a whole different set of tasks and services active on background, but thing is, once I make this user active, I can't switch it off unless I reboot my phone. is there a way to kill the second user?
any comments on this?
I think is related to the lollipop problem with "radio active" apps. Sometimes it happens to me randomly
i dont htink so, its not random at all

[HELP] [SOLVED] X522 Brick Stuck in Initial Setup X526 Stock ROM

Unfortunately while flashing a new recovery my phone died bricking it. Even worse for me, I don't currently have any rom on it so it couldn't boot into anything after that point. To attempt to recover from this I followed this guide, and have successfully gotten the X526 stock rom booting. However, I am unable to get to developer options to enable the OEM unlock option as I can't skip the initial setup. Every time I hit skip the attached warning shows up & prevents me from exiting setup. If anyone has an ideas as to what I could try that would be amazing!
SOLUTION:
I am unsure why this worked, but moving the SIM card from the rightmost slot to the leftmost slot enabled the network. Once the network is enabled, instead of skipping setup just setup the google account and you can get around this warning.
Warning:
The system has detected that you might have performed an unsafe factory reset or system update. Make sure that the network connection is normal and that you sign in with the same Google account that was accessed during the last session. The phone won't start properly if the login fails due to Google's security policies.

I have a problem my cell phone is rooted, apparently with Magisk but modified so that it can recognize SIM, when entering any banking app it does not allow me as you will know, when entering magisk it appears like this.

By the way my cell phone is a Samsung A21s, well if I accept the installation when it restarts I lose the network signal and it does not recognize my SIM, only emergency calls come out, I already took it to the technician 2 times to try, the technician did not Do you know the solution, you only know how to format it and reactivate the SIM signal, could you help me how to solve it?
Psdt:I'm sorry if it's not well understood, I'm not good with English, I use a translator.

it's rooted i think so
if you are wanting network signal...try and remove magisk by clicking the uninstall button on the magisk app
or
reflash the system rom using odin...make sure country matches and you get the correct firmware version. I highly suggest this...coz it is assured to work.
