Nexus Reboots When Shutting Down - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Nexus has been unable to shut down. Whenever I select shut down it reboots instead. The only way I have been able to stop it from rebooting is to pull the battery out. Is there a way to fix this? I'm running CM 5.0.5.3 with kspec theme. Thanks.

Nexus randomly loses haptic feedback?

Just wondering if this happens to anyone else. Running CM 5.0.5.3, and occasionally it'll just disappear. Sometimes I can turn it back on by going into settings, turning it off, turning it back on [the haptic feedback is checked "ON" when I lose it] and waiting a while in sleep mode. It won't turn back on immediately if I do this step - the waiting in sleep is necessary. Or I can reboot.
Anyone else getting this, and any idea why?
thx
Yes, I get this occasionally using the desire a19 rom. I just turn off the screen, and back on, and it comes back.

[Q] Why Does The Screen Turn Off During Startup?

Why does every Gingerbread ROM I use on my OG Droid boot up with the boot animation and then the screen turns off after a few seconds like it times out? It will not do anything until you hit the power button. After you do that, and only after you do that will the boot animation resume. Then finally my lockscreen will appear shortly after that. It's sometimes annoying to deal with on every single boot.
Any thoughts on how to resolve the issue? Is it because the OG Droid will never see an official GB build... or something else? Maybe it's a simple solution?

Theme issues

With both GingerFusion and DreadGinger I seem to have the issue that when I turn my screen off or it shuts off on its own after being idle the lights on the 4 Soft Keys stay on and take an extra few seconds to turn off, which wouldn't be a big deal by if that was all, but once they turn off they keep flicking on and off every few seconds (like every 5 to 10 seconds) which is hella annoying. Anyone else experience this and if so is there a fix. Or does anyone have any ideas on How to fix it. I have tried wiping cache and dalvik cache as well as re-flashing the themes all to no avail. So if someone could help me fix it. I would really appreciate it. I hella dig these themes and would like to use them. But that flickering on and off repeatedly is straight up annoying.

2 ways you can fix it. Either hold your phone up to a light source (computer monitor or other light source).
Or, press and hold the power button, then select "power off" instead of reboot. Power the phone completely off, then restart the phone.
A little tip to avoid that happening again:
After you flash a theme or ROM, instead of selecting "reboot phone now" in the Recovery menu, select "Power Off." Let the phone turn completely off, then turn it back on.

hey i got a question, lol
on a stock zvc rom i used on LG Esteem (similar to revo) i made like 1 or 2 theme tweaks with framework-res.apk, services.jar & LGHome.apk... i seem to have an issue where i hold power for menu, select power off. but phone just reboots to boot animation than powers on rom again..
i only switched out statusbar_background.png in framework, added transparency line to services.jar (which seems to be working) and swapped LGHome.apk with version from zvb(previous fw update prior to zvc) so do you think it could be related to any of that, or is it just an actual problem with the rom..? thank you for any help..

Screen not timing out after 4.0.4

Hi since upgrading to 4.0.4 my screen doesn't turn off by itself, have to press the power button. In settings it says 15 seconds to time out, but ive tried all of them and none of them are working. Anyone know of a way to find out whats happening?
there must be an app running in the background that is forcing the screen to be constantly on? did you try uninstalling your apps to test?
Cheers, not sure what was causing it but forgot about trying a phone reboot and that seemed to sort it out.

[Q] Volume Keeps Coming Up

Whenever I turn the screen off and on again, at the bottom of the screen it prints "Volume: 100%" or whatever the notification volume is on. This also happens at other times, but I cannot see a pattern in them. It is fixed after a reboot, but after a while it starts again. It is extremely annoying. I tried using CatLog, and it seems every time the screen is turned on AudioService or VolumePanel do something like onVolumeChanged(). Luckily, the actual volume doesn't change. I am using GT-P7310 ICS 4.0.4 running OmarEinea's Ultra Plus Stock ROM. Can someone help?
Fixed
Fixed it! Battery Doctor was causing the problem (dunno why ). Uninstalled it, and IT WORKS! If anyone else has this problem, go through each of your apps and force close them, and see if the problem still persists.
