Update your Hardspl making sure its unsigned and do a task 29, there is a thread on it

mmh i don't think it's the SPL , cause i got 1.56 olinex which should be right for new roms, but i will try task 29 thanks.

okay performed task 29 and installed black dragon 3.3 [ger]still not working, but i will try diffrent roms. clean rom 7.0 not working either.
SOryy but i gotta correct myself XTROM GRID LEO 3 was working but very unstable crashing after a minute or even while booting.
Need help i don't want to walk around with the stupid original rom

Use original ROM for few days.
I guess you could survive that.
If HD is working with original ROM, you're doing something wrong.
Since I believe you know what you're doing, and you're not doing anything wrong, I guess HD will crash with original ROM... and that will mean it's service time...
Ah... and I believe you're from german speaking area... right?

I don't know what i could be doing wrong i flash my roms as usual as it worked before ? But i found another rom working it's a stock rom "OrangeUK_HTCTouchHD_1.59.61.2_Radio_52.64.25.34_1.14.25.24_Ship_phone_software" but at least it is a pretty new one.

Is that ROM still working on your device?
I used that ROM for a long time, and I still have a radio from that ROM on my device...

Would recommend flashing stock rom & stock SPL to see if problem is with device. If you are still getting problems with device after flashing stock SPL and rom, then problem may be with device, i.e. service required

Hi there,
It's not a hardware issue, it always happens due to ROM-Radio incompatibility.
Most of cooked roms are compatible with Radio version 1.14.25.24

It seems HardSPL 1.40oli and this 2.32 rom don't work very well.Very sluggish and phone can't turn ON even after 2 Hard resets.
What is your experience???
Do not install if hard spl
I installed the ROM upgrade from HTC, it ****ed up my device real bad: phone module not working, device boot up in aprox 1 min, after 3 mins Touch Flo not started, it restarts by itself.
I did hard reset and nothing happens.
I,m reinstalling jademan superrom!
I hope that works!
Could anyone check, if the gps-support has been improved?

Exactly same symptoms. I went to Stock SPL 1.40 and reflashing the new rom now. Hope it works better
update : Jade is fine now. New SPL is 2.32.0000 . More testing to be done.
Question : Can HardSPL 1.40.oli be flashed over new 2.32.0000 ?

It is annoying that hardspl doesnt work with this upgrade of jade.. can't built a rom now with the new oem. It's all newer than the iolite versions, but still doesnt include Footprint
Any changes in Manila? New tabs? Calendar? Stocks? Changes in the contacts?
Hi
What is the Radio version in this new ROM?
I have just applied the version from here and if this contains the old Radio then I can hold off for now until hopefully a compliant Hard-SPL is made, I can live without Opera being perfect.
Hi all,

Install a different rom from this forum-> Shut down your jade, unplug it. Hold down "volume down button" and ""power on button" to get in to boot mode. now start to flash another rom.
when finished you can install stock spl and then install this new rom
Stupid (or not so stupid) question,
If we flash original SPL to instal this ROM, and SPL is upgraded by this ROM to 2.32,.... and HardSPL does not work with this new 2.23 SPL,.....
THEN, IT SEEMS THAT FOLLOWING THESE STEPS WILL ONLY MAKE US SLAVES OF THIS NEW & OFFICIAL HTC ROM!!!! i.e. No possibility of other ROMs flashing until new HardSPL is developed,...
Please, somebody to confirm this statement?
Thanks,
Jarel

that's right.. but i think it's in one of the drivers. using the old drivers and the new oem/sys makes it possible to run it with the current hardspl.

Potentially Broken T.HD - Need help!

Hi All,
I have used the search function - but ended up getting confused.
I have a Touch HD that I bought in January of this year (2009) from Mobiles.co.uk (Carphone Warehouse) and is on the O2 network (UK).
I have been using Dutty's ROMs (both 6.1 and 6.5) for months now - and have always used USPL when flashing, using the SD card method.
Over the past 3 days, my HD has been playing up.
When it started, I was using Dutty's R7. The radio was 1.14.something.something. The device was working perfectly, and I was really happy with the ROM and the way the phone was working. I had installed NO other applications with the exception of a different taskbar and obviously SDKCerts.cab
First of all, HTC Sense stopped working - it would cycle between "Loading HTC Sense" and "Tap here to launch HTC Sense"
Then, when rebooting the device, it just hung on the "Smart Mobility" screen. I left it in case it just needed a while to boot, but nothing.
I had no other option than to hard reset.
It worked OK for a few hours, but then HTC Sense started to crash again. So I flashed a new ROM - Lost in Asia or whatever it is called.
Same symptoms.
I flashed Dutty's R7 back and also the new 1.17 radio.
No joy.
The phone also hangs for ages on the Smart Mobility screen - perhaps a full minute where as before, it used to be no more than 15 seconds or so.
The following is displayed on the "Smart Mobility Screen"
1.17.25.09
52.69.25.37H
1.59.Dutty
The bootloader screen (before running USPL) shows the following:
BLAC100 32M
SPL-1.54.0000
MicroP-BlackStone (LED) V6
So the question I'm asking - is... Is my phone suffering some kind of hardware malfunction, or is this a known and fixable fault that I somehow have caused?
If the phone looks like it is malfunctioning, how would I go about returning it to stock so that the CPWH repair centre do not know it's had an unofficial ROM installed?
I'd like to add that whilst I'm very PC literate, I'm no programmer and a lot of the stuff here is alien to me hence my confusion - I just know how to flash a new ROM etc.
Thanks to anyone that takes the time to help me - I'd be really thankful to anyone that helps me sort this - be it tell me how to fix the device, or tells me to take it back!
Thanks in advance & Regards,
Chris.
Will D/L and flash Dutty's R0 Holy Grail ROM and see if that makes a difference...
If you've been using uspl than it will still be the stock spl and thus you could try to load the stock rom from htc.com specially designed for the touch hd(blackstone). I've read and heard from a lot of people that after flashing several roms and even hard resetting afterwards, some bits and pieces stay behind and flashing an original stock rom will undo this. I don't think it's a radio issue. And another big thing if you use dutty R7 that's a 1.56+ rom so you should have the right uspl olinex software to load these roms, if you used older software then problems with colouring and other things will appear.

Thanks for the quick reply.
So is it perhaps better to revert to the original ROM before flashing a cooked ROM? I always Hard Reset twice after flashing as understand this helps.
OK - so the 1.56+ situation - I was under the impression that using the latest USPL (2.5) when flashing was OK? I have never had the colour problem... but perhaps if I'm flashing wrong then these problems could be to do with this?
Thanks again...
Chris
The Sense Manila has known bug that you need to press home to load it (sometimes).
For you case, I would suggest you to clean up your SD Card.
there may be several file that cause your system to freeze.
So, format your SD, hard reset.. and cross fingers.
Yes, It is better to revert to the original rom once in a while before flashing a new rom, if u used the latest uspl and the colours are ok, then you've done that right and it will probably be bits and pieces of old flashed roms floating around on the device.
Best to revert to stock rom and hard reset twice.
Afterwards flash the rom u want. If everything works again. U could hspl instead of uspl, hspl is more stable if u ask me. And you can go back to stock spl if you have waranty issues. there's a tut on that to in the rom section.

I forgot to mention - that was one of the things I did. Previously, I had loads of email folders from all the ROM installs.
Now I have a folder containing the useful CAB files that I need, and the ROM image file. Thats it.
It's only a 1gb card as my 8gb card gave up the ghost.
Thanks for the suggestion though and my apologies for not mentioning this in the initial post.
From reading the Dummies guide, am I right in thinking that in order to use a 1.55+ ROM (such as Dutty's Holy Grail R0) I only need to run USPL and then flash (as opposed to flash a newer SPL) as my stock SPL is already 1.54?

Thanks for this - I didnt realise the device would retain bits and bobs, and you may well be right in that things are getting corrupted in there!
Which is the best stock ROM to flash - is there a link to one? I looked on the Wiki and there seem to be loads... which will work on a UK T8282?!
Thanks again!

what do you mean hang for age?
1 minute is nothing if it turns out boot up.
There are chances that the nand flash needs to refresh and wasted some times. But it won't be forever.

there's an original rom on htc.com for blackstone just use that one.
hope it will turn out right for you
I thought I'm the only one who had this problem. Last Sunday my blackstone started to freeze on the smart mobility screen too. I flash 3 different roms because I thought its an rom issue with no luck. On Monday it even managed to hardreset itself after I waited for about 15 min in the smart mobility screen.
After that I flashed a stock rom and it seem to be fine by now.
But now I will flash a custom again, the stock one is so 6.1

big problem with touch hd

hi all!
i got a big problem with my touch hd...
after flashing several roms, i flash since miri V20, my phone startet to hang very often. everything is working fine after flashing, but when i want to use opera via wifi for example it hangs - even the hardkeys aren't responding anymore. after a soft reset it shows the "smart mobility screen" and does nothing anymore, only after a hardreset the phone boots again. this behavior startet with flashing the 6.5.x ROMs i think, before that i had no problems. i'm using radio 1.17.25.09 and xannytech ROM evo 1.4 right now.
i flash via hspl and yes, i did a hardreset after every flash
any idea what i can do to get back a working phone?
thank you!
hm... have you done the HR after flashing - I mean really after flashing including the base-program installation. Try to install new rom fully, then HR.
Otherwise it does not look like the rom problem. Maybe ur wifi is broken?...
Then - have you combined good XIP, RIL and Radio? I read here in the forum a good combination is needed or the phone could hang sometimes...
(Generally - I do not want to scare you however I think it is really a HW problem)
yes, i did the hardreset every time directly after flashing the ROMs.
hmm, i think i try another radio and flash again, when it behaves still wired you could be right an its a HW problem -.-
the wifi works well when i update weather or download quickgps data, so i don't think its broken. i had this behavior even when i wanted to change my background wallpaper in the last xnor ROM...
its really strange Oo
you can also try to flah a stock rom firts and then do the normal flahing procedure of the rom you want
sometimes it is possible that the prvious rom leaves traces arround on youre phone that doesnt like the new rom and therefor it could hang
so try to flash a strock rom first and then the rom you want maybe it helps
best regards

It has been known that if you constantly flash your HD, sometimes this can cause HD to hang/freeze etc. A method which seems to fix this is to return to stock rom, then use dummies guide to flash cooked rom again
thank you all guys!
i will flash back to stock ROM as mentioned and then flash my fav custom ROM.
i let you know if the problem is solved then.
thx again!
Hi to all , could we know finally what you did so make your phone work again ?
yes, I'm interested too.
I had similar problems, no matter what rom i tried i had freezes and hang ups, and strange behavior, and after flashing stock rom and then another rom smooooth sailing all the way since so i reckon its a good thing to do every fifth flash or so.
hi all!
think i solved my problem by flashing the latest stock ROM as advised by other users. after that i flashed my prefered custom ROM and now the device flies Oo respond time is much much better, no lags or hangups till now...
i'm happy again

Help!My Blackstone fails to accept a WM6.5 rom, as it used to the past!

Hi guys, I've been using the Energy roms quite often and I can say I did not fail to upgrade any of the updates. Today, my Blackstone "freezed" while I was surfing on the internet using opera, I took off the battery and I turned it on again but no success, so I decided to upgrade the rom (I was using the 25th Dec Rom). I followed the same procedure as always and when the installation ended the phone failed to boot. It reached at the stage where you are asked to enter the pin code, I typed it and then "nothing"! It kept frozen no matter what I was trying to do. I did several hard resets, I re-installed the latest rom (both versions) but nothing
Anyone knows how to fix this issue????
I need to say that in trying to fix this issue, I installed an old rom which was based on Windows 6.1 and the phone worked just fine, but the whole rom was so old, so I could not stay with that one. This means that the phone is not broken, right?
I also followed someone's here suggestion to go back to the original stock rom, hard reset and then install again the WM 6.5 roms. But again, this did not change anything. Is there a way to make the phone "accept" the WM 6.5 roms, as it used to accept them before???
Please help me cause I cannot live without this phone!!!
Thanks in advance for all those experts who are willing to share their suggestions with me!

Have you tried various wm6.5 roms, possibly as bad download? Obviously I'm assuming you have either HSPL on device or you re-used USPL before flashing rom?
Did you flash back to original stock rom & SPL? i.e. rom and SPL which was on device when you bought it?
I had the same problem on the same rom, flashed stock rom then back to energy's. Been working fine ever since
Did you do a hard reset after installing energy rom too?

Thank you very much for your response! I followed your suggestion to go back to the stock rom and spl and then flash cooked rom, although Energy roms still refused to install after all this procedure! I don't know why, because they have been working and installed just fine in the past. I suceed on flashing a Miris rom, not the latest one but an old one I had in my computer and fortunately it worked! So, according to the results of my experiment, my phone accepts WM6.5 roms, but not Energy roms! I will be waiting for an update of Energy roms to see if the new version will be accepted by my phone!!!
Thanks again for the assistance!

I got similar issues before, the phone just couldn't boot or hard reset itself after one or two days with many different 6.5 ROMs. Did an mtty task 29 then it looks good now for a week. If it still failed I would follow Fallen Spartan's suggestion to flash stock ROM+SPL.

hmmm, after returning to stock rom & SPL. What was your SPL in bootloader? Did you follow dummies guide afterwards and use USPL or HSPL before trying to flash NRG rom? Did you try a different rom? Whats your current SPL?

rom isnt flashing correctly after task 29

Hi i ran task 29 w/ 4.49.25.95 (AT&T) because of the invalid model id. then i flashed kalhimeo SuperLite 2.0 w/ msd. and when it boots up i see the htc splash then a orange boot screen and then once the rom loads its not rom i flashed or its partially loaded. when i tried the custom rom update utility the current version is 2. something and i tried flashing it it finishes and the phone boots and still gives me the same result so i tried it with another rom and the version was the same so i flashed it look like it worked untill i notice cabs dont work and the comm manger to turn off 3g wasnt there. any ideas? thanks i spent 2 hours tryna look up this problem
You didnt mention is you had hard spl'd the device, unsure if task 29 would enable you to be able to psuedo flash a rom like that....
WC
the phone has been hard spl-ed and i dont really understand what you just said there
its fixed i think it had somthing to do with radios not matching
