Online Cookbook - G1 Apps and Games

Hello iam looking for usefull cooking book - it should be customizable and accesible from web - tried some from market but had bad feeling about them so is anyone using such a thing?
Or any other advice about Android cook apps?

This ain't an iThing, so not everything needs to be an app...just hit up www.foodtv.com or www.epicurious.com on your browser.

Oh, and check out OurGroceries. It's a sharable list app with web access and a recipe section.

[REQUEST] App Store-Beat the iPhone!!!

Let's make an App store for all the important cabs on this wonderful thread.
Let's get some ideas on how to do this.
Like having a website with all the cabs listed so you can download them directly to the device. I am talking themes, cabs, roms(to go to SD Card for flashing)
Let's get creative, we can do it. Let's not wait on Microsoft.
Hey man, Project Gecko has been in beta for a while.
There are 2 advertised on XDA and Gecko is the only one that comes to mind at the moment. Maybe someone else can help me out with the second one..?
I know a little bit of web design, so I may play around with this over Christmas break. (I am a school teacher). But other ideas would be appreciated too.
Goals:
1. Centralized location for apps, tweaks, roms, etc
2. App Store Accessed from device (not just active sync)
3. Improve as much as possible
this sounds like a great idea! also, you guys may want to see this. it is a database of ppc freeware.

Ideal features...
TF 2/3D/Today screen/Programs menu direct access
Download manager similar to Opera
Scrolling features through phone type/sections/apps
Small ad placement = income generation for storage
Recent Updates menu to notify when upgrade is ready (integrate in SMS/email system linking to DL)
CAB only policy to weed out nasty bugs
XDA mods to police the uploads
Exclusive program list (homepage) which charges developers for front page access. (scrolling banners in predefined format)
Free vs. Pay program areas.
Point system for repeat users. Points = discounts for pay programs.
Thats all I can think of at the moment.

Love it, love it, love it,
Keep the ideas coming
Perhaps somehow use ApptoDate to keep the cabs updated?
Great Plan
Sounds like a great idea, one resouerc for safe, uncomplicated modding and upgrading of the touch pro keep up the good work
I can do alot with webdesign ive been doing it for years..let me know if you need any help

that was what I was thinking...
guys just watch gecko and spread the word.

what are soom cool things to download on my x1

i already have touch flo3d and windows mobile voice command
THPS2...
my top five.
i have a bunch of apps.
i mostly use the following:
G-alarm
evernote
i-nigma (bar code reader)
qik (live video broadcasting from your phone)
the you tube panel.
and now i guess im using the point home 2 ui instead of touch flo3d.
you can find all (or most) if you just use the foruM search
I m using Resco contact manager which is my personal favourite especially because I like the today screen ..and have been playing around with morphgear a little which isnt bad .. here is the link to the contact manager if u want to try it
http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/contactmanager/default.asp
must haves..
wmvwifi router.. i use old free beta.
www.mymobiler.com to remote control from pc
total commander (for registry and ftp access)
http://www.scummvm.org/downloads.php for som old point and click games.
depend on your interests really
like I installed a program which would let me detect in which direction to point my sat disc
to get various channels
but people without sat discs would find limited usesage for such and app
much like I would find little usage for a plane spotting app which told me which times I should hit out to the airport to see some rare type of plane
for pure brain storm these types of threads work wonders giving you an impression of whats out there
but if you got some special interest then
searching on google for
<what ever> pocketpc
like
paint pocketpc
often works wonders pocketpc in one word works better with google then
windows mobile because it's 2 words and having windows in any search give way
too many pc windows hits

This app doesn't seem to be supported on the X1. Did you use an install from a different phone? I think it looks pretty cool, and I'd love to use it, but no amount of google searching is providing me with the answer here.
I have got navigation software on my X1 and I often use it for navigation during the trip to a new place. It saves me money on buying a new navigator and saves me another carrier. Isn't is cool?

[App] Ebook Reader (Freda)

I have ported the Windows Mobile 6.x program Freda to Windows Phone 7.
The program is an Ebook reader for books in EPUB (DRM-free), HTML and TXT format.
I've published a demo video.
[UPDATE: See here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=795753&page=15 for the latest version of the program.]
Is there a way to reformat the text at all? It's going to be really difficult to read with that little spacing between lines, etc.

There are options on the 'Settings' screen that allow you to:
add space between paragraphs
increase the line spacing (or decrease it to 0.9 if you want an even denser reading experience)
change font
change font size
define an external margin (a blank border) around the edge of the page
Between these, you'll probably find a way to get an appearance that works for you
i like the simplicity of your app, but somewhere i think it's to simple

I will be adding such features as:
- download from any OPDS catalog, not just Wattpad's system
- view and navigate the book's table of contents
- manage settings (i.e. save and use 'presets').
- ...
Maybe that will be complicated enough for you

Yep, I spent 30 mins at the O2 shop yesterday, getting fingermarks on the screen of an HTC HD7 and checking that Freda works OK on a real phone. Conclusion: it's usable, but there are a few niggles. I'll be pushing out a new release in a few days to deal with them ...

Fair dues, developing such a complex app without even having the phone!
I'm interested in particular in having an ereader that can read epub files from my own server, since we don't seem to be able to add epub or txt files to our WP7 devices just yet.
Thanks for all the hard work.
This is pretty impressive. I look forward to downloading you app! Keep up the good work, man.

The app knows how to work with any server that can produce an OPDS catalog, and I have tested it with Calibre (both using the Calibre Content Server and also the Calibre2Opds solution based on DropBox). There is one major ugliness: because of the brain-dead way that Microsoft have implemented (well 'not implemented') HTTP authentication, it only works if you set a blank password on your Calibre server. Not really an issue if you're using it on your own local wireless network, but not suitable for wider internet use.
I'm hoping Microsoft will roll out a patch for this in the Q1 release; if they don't, I can code proper authentication myself, but it will be a tedious job.
zune doesn't support epub???
thx jim
!!!great job
Is it still in Marketplace I can't find it anymore....
Sorry looked on phone and PC.

Jim, could you please check this catalog: http://81.1.213.130:8091/opds/
Freda can access OPDS but can't read epubs from that site (FBReaderJ for Android works without problems)

I didn't see it either. I got an update notification but it wouldn't update. Went to look for Freda and couldn't find it.

It's true - I admit it. Freda is off the marketplace at the moment.
There was a problem with the last update, and I have temporarily pulled it. It should be back in a couple of days.
Sorry for any inconvenience.

Thanks! I tried to write a review and rate it from within the Zune software, wouldn't let me do that either. (used your web site link to find it that way) There seems to be a lot of recent additions of ereaders in the Marketplace. Freda still tops them though.

[Q] What are you using for PDF viewing?

After trying many PDF viewing apps on my Froyo'd Nook, I have still not found one that supports (well) the embedded links or a novel navigation scheme allowing me to get back to the TOC easily.
Im curious... what are you using?
is there a way to do "article view" in DL'ed pdf magazines
Went ahead and tried pretty much every free pdf viewer in the market. Doesn't seem like any of them I tried let me follow the hyperlink.
However. I did find that uploading the pdf to google docs and then viewing it through a web browser like Dolphin HD allowed me to follow the hyperlinks... Not the best option, by any means.
Possibly one of the paid office suites allows hyperlinks. I'd email the developers to make sure before buying since you only get 15 min to return.
Found one: BeamReader PDF Viewer will follow hyperlinks. Go to the market and download the 10 day free trial first before purchasing. Looks like it costs $10 for full version.
Also: Reading the description for ezPDF Reader (only $0.99), says "links" under features. I'm guessing this will allow you to follow links.
Please report back if you try it. I'm interested in knowing if it works. Thanks
I've heard good things about RepliGo. You can see it in action in the video on the cerience.com website (/products/reader/android). The forum won't let me post the complete link.
If you try it, please reply back with your thoughts as I haven't tried it yet.

I am using ezPDF and am impressed, has TOC and functional hyperlinks. This was the dealbreaking feature for me since I was used to goodReader on the ipad - this is almost as good. Any specific questions - jusk ask!
I've tried every one I could find because I'm using my NC to display words to songs during my live performances instead of using the MS Access database I used to use. I've found for my purposes the RepliGo Reader works best for me. Bookmarks seem to work well, you can zoom a page and when you go to next page it remembers zoom level. It is not free but for what it does I really like it.

[Request] League Of Legends \ PVT.NET Chat

Hi,
Just wondering if it possíble to anyone create and application that allows you to connect to PVP.NET chat from League Of Legends PC Game.
Actualy there are applications to manage champion builder, check status online, wallpapers and stuff like that.
It will be a lot of usefull if you can chat with your team-mates from LoL from anyware with our android phones.
If this is not the correct section to post this request, just moove it please.
Thank You !
+1 on that. PVP.net chat with server switch option would be sweet. But I think the thread should be better in general android dev than in HTC specific, as it has nothing specific to HTC but to the operating system
