Would the 2.42.02.10.29 Sprint CDMA Hero Radio update work on non-Sprint networks?

Hi all!
I have a CDMA Hero, that can run and is running Sprint branded ROMs with no issues. My service is through a regional carrier called Carolina West Wireless to make it clear, not Sprint. I've run several Sprint branded ROMs and currently have AOSP 2.3.2 without any issues with roaming or anything like that.
My question just is would the 2.42.02.10.29 radio update, as posted by theimpaler747, work for me? Reading through the threads I can't see where this has come up so I hope I'm not repeating a question.
Thanks!
I already upgraded this version radio, looks like no side effect and impact. But I don't know what improvement or bug fix for new version. BTW, I'm from China, using Carrier China Telecom.
AS long as you stick with a cdma hero radio, you can flash it fine. At one point, people here were even flashing a verizon radio from the eris, and it worked fine
Thanks for the responses, I flashed the new radio, no problem!

I just got back in the Android scene, would I flash the new SPL or the radio first onto my HTC Hero200? I'm just trying to protect myself and my phone before flashing these,I have the files downloaded and ready for flashing, just don't know if there is a specific order I'm supposed to flash. Any help is greatly appreciated!
What spl are you referring to??
What recovery are you using??
What files have you dl??? What radio did you dl?? What rom are you running???
Root/Hack-Mod_Always*
What, what, what, what!!!!! Tell us already!!!!! XD
I flashed the radio then the SPL,everything went great.

[MOD] Retail Brazil Radio (by request) AT&T Atrix only

Recently I played with radios a bit.
I tought the retail Brazil radio would work perfectly in my zone, but I was wrong.
I lost internet access with it.
The 4.2.1.1 radio kills the signal strength and also the internet connectivity.
Then the Telstra 4.1.4.2 radio. It works well, but the phone heats a lot. Also there's occasions where you loose the signal completely then in a few seconds you have full signal again. And sometimes you loose internet connectivity for a few seconds or until you reboot the phone.
Actually I'm back at the 4.1.8.3 radio.
Josuetenista asked me to upload the retail Brazil radio so he can try it.
To anyone willing to test it on an AT&T Atrix, be advised this will kill your internet connectivity. Phone will show 3G but won't send nor receive data.
I've included the 4.1.8.3 radio so you can return the phone to its original state.
These SBFs are for AT&T phones only.
You can download them HERE.
Hi Whipon, would you like to upload all the Radios for the At&t Atrix? Currently I'm at Capital Federal (Movistar, carrier) and constantly loosing signal and H+ connectivity all the time, so I would like to mess with these radios a little bit.

I see. So I'm not the only one not having HSPA in Argentina.
I only have the Retail Brazil and the Telstra one that dew.man uploaded some time ago.
The 4.2.1.1 radio kills the signal almost completely, so I deleted it. I can rebuild it if you want, but I don't see the point.
Currently the best radio seems to be the 4.1.8.3 one.
I hope this HSPA issue will be solved with Gingerbread.
What other radio do you want?. I can make you one with the Claro Brasil radio.

Thanks Whipon. I will try it and let you know how the radio works here in ecuador. Im still having lot of problems with the 4.1.83 Radio. The best radio so far is the 4.1.57 Radio, but I tried to use that radio with the latest firmware and it doesn't have internet connectivity, that's why im stuck on the 4.1.57 update.

Hello,
I have a question, why are you guys talking about the different radios and post System Versions instead of Baseband versions?
Baseband means Radios and heres an example of different baseband version numbers:
N_01.87.00R
N_01.77.15P
N_01.77.07P
Etc...
Just curious...

Each System version comes with a specific Radio and instead of writting down the diferent Modem version I wrote the System Version. My BAD!
Tried all diferent radios
N_01.87.00R
N_01.77.15P
N_01.77.07P
also tried Brazilian Claro and Bell radios and doesn't seem to get better. Signal drops sometimes in conclusion SIM card seems to be broken

I'm on Claro but the problem started 1 week ago, dropped calls, very poor signal and internet connectivity very slow. I think I screwed my SIM Card because I uploaded 11000 songs to Google Music through the Phone's Tether (About 30gb) and the SIM card overheated

I have the same problem with 4.1.83 dropping calls in Personal Argentina. 4.1.57 was the best I think.
Guys, Don't get me wrong but I really think that it would be more helpful if you talk about radio versions by using baseband numbers instead of system version numbers.
Saying that you are on X system version does not necessary imply you are on Y radio version.
For example, I'm on system version 4.1.83 but my radio or baseband is N_01.88.00R which is not standard for my system version.
I'm just saying...
Thanks!

If I for example, say I'm using the 4.1.8.3 radio, that means I'm using the stock radio of that firmware. Its obvious. Build numbers are easier to remember.

That SBF its not compatible with AT&T Atrix.

Better talk about the baseband version instead of firmware version...
cuz flashing sfb is not necessary to change the baseband version
and this radio is working perfectly on ATT Atrix and its HSUPA enabled...
Tested by lots ppl on xda, I guess there might be sth wrong with your provider instead of the phone...

I will try changing the sim card because it looks a little old and haven't changed it for 4 years. Maybe it's time and also it's my last option

First, the radio only SBF some posts above doesn't work on an AT&T Atrix. Period.
It uses diferent ram downloaders incompatible with the AT&T one.
If you try to flash it, you'll get an error in both the phone and RSD Lite.
Second, knowing this, I would like to know how these "lots of people" tested the radio not having a working sbf to flash it. I've tested it, making a working SBF myself and all ended with the results I described. I can upload the SBF if anyone is willing to test it.

You said that you have tried all those radios?
Do you know where I can download N_01.77.15P?
I "upgraded" to N_01.87.00R thinking that it would be better, but no. I think N_01.77.15P offers better performance.

[Q] LG Thrill 4G on T-Mobile 3/4G and Rooting

Well I have an LG Thrill 4G on T-Mobile's 4G network. But I only get "EDGE" Service.
I was told that T-Mobile's network is 1700 mhz and my phone is a 1900 mhz phone so it wouldnt work out. But then I tweeted T-Mobile about it and they said that they are upgrading their towers or signal, whatever its called. to 1900 mhz. So I'm assuming that if they do that I will get 3G and 4G speeds. If that doesn't work. Does anyone know how to get up to 3G & 4G speeds?
My phone has the OFFICIAL 4.0.4 ICS update in it that AT&T released.
I have a Micro Sim Card from T-Mobile.
Software information,
Android version - 4.0.4
Baseband version - OMAP4430/XMM6260
Kernel version - 3.0.21
Build number - ICS
Software version - P92530b
I was rooted when I had 2.2.2 froyo and 2.3.6 gingerbread but when I got ICS it was erased and I don't think theirs a way to hack into it yet.. unless any of you guys know? well yeah I need help
Root lg thrill android 4.0.4
this page has a link to root it but its in Portuguese... use google traslate.
