Do I need to revert back to the stock recovery?
I've been told AMON's should work.
Flashed multiple times before no problem, but on occassions had this error from a corrupt ROM etc.
Downloaded the ROM from various locations multiple times but same error when trying to flash?
Cheers
Did you download the stock ROM zip or an update zip like Modaco's? Only an undate zip can be flashed via Amon Ra's recovery... otherwise, u need to use fastboot

I'm using rom manager and I like more the clockwork recovery image than amon ra's, especially cause I can rename the nanroid backups(with amon ra' s recovery image I didn't find a working way to do it)
The problem is that this recovery isn't permanend and only works from rom manager. And it's in flashable zip format and not img.
So, I searched to find an img format to flash it permanent.
And I found it in wildfire' s forum. I've flashed and works.

It's good. I'll take this

I hope that you can help me,
Could you please share the Wildfire's amonra recovery?
I really need it! Thanks!
No use asking for the recovery. Nowadays, you cannot flash a Tattoo ROM using wildfire recovery, it will give error due to non-matching system.

Sorry my mistake, I thought that he had a wildfire, I misunderstood the first post...
What you do not like the original clockworkmod recovery from Tattoo?
Sorry to post a topic that may have been posted several time. I need a basic rom of the n1 froyo. The ota failed on me and I need to have those update for gingerbread.

You can't flash stock HTC images via custom recovery. If you want to keep Amon_RA recovery then you won't be able to update via OTA when it arrives (Even though you can receive the prompt that an update is available). If you return to stock recovery with a stock ROM then you'll be able to update.
Code:
FRG83 update zip - [URL="http://loadbalancing.modaco.com/download.php?url=paul/nexusone/update-nexusone-FRG83-stock-radio-signed.zip"]Link[/URL]
This is the stock image repacked to an update ZIP for installation via a custom recovery image. It is completely stock, secure and unrooted.
FRF91 update zip - [URL="http://loadbalancing.modaco.com/download.php?url=paul/nexusone/update-nexusone-FRF91-official-signed.zip"]Link[/URL]
This is a HTC signed update ZIP for installation via either the stock recovery or the custom recovery image.
FRG83 image format - [URL="http://loadbalancing.modaco.com/download.php?url=paul/nexusone/signed-passion-img-FRG83_0923.zip"]Link[/URL]
This is completely stock .img files which can be applied via fastboot.
All credits to the modaco forums for N1: Link.
How do I return to a stock recovery?
You CAN flash stock updates via Amon_Ra. Select "Toggle signature verification" before flashing. Flash a stock FRG83 update, and it'll replace the recovery with stock one too.
Next time look in the guides instead of asking, that'll save you from a lot of mis-information.
Managed to work around this and installed a build that allow update. Thanks to all of you.

I currently some how got the rooting onto my samsung capivate. It's fully rooted just without clockwork recovery mod. When ever i try to flash it on the device it says successful but when i reboot into recovery it just show me the same recovery as before it was even rooted.
So my question is when flashing a custom rom on the device do i have to use odin or can i use clockwork recovery directly?
Thank and much appreciated.
If you have recovery 2e you can simply install clockwork mod. If you have recovery 3e install a kernel that has clockwork mod built in using Odin. From then on you won't need Odin to flash a custom ROM. Simply use the install from zip option in clockwork.

Flash the update.zip twice. Since you don't have signature verification error, I an going to assume you are on 2.1. You have to flash the update.zip, then flash it again. Then you should see cwm.

+1 took reinstalling packages 2x while flashing the CWM update.zip back when I first did it
+ 10 when I first flashed I had to select reinstall package like 3 or 4 times.

No, basically I wanted to start TOTALLY fresh with a new ROM so I went to CWM and formatted EVERYTHING!! I was half asleep when I did it and formatted my SD card (where my ROM was saved lol) I also formatted boot, so I have no recovery anymore either.
What I'm wanting is a custom recovery I can flash using Odin.
So CWM recovery in a .tar format.
Thanks for the help!

So attached one may help you a lot. It works even for JW9! All you need to do - it's install the latest stock ROM first

But this isn't a recovery is it?
It's just a root package for stock firmware?
All I'm looking for is a custom recovery (like CWM) that I can flash in Odin so I can get a recovery back on my phone and flash CM
This on contains Root+CWM3 for stock ROM
Have got TWRP installed on H811 20q, but would like to get rid of it so that I can get OTA update to work (for now). I cannot get LGUP or Uppercut to work properly so I want to go back to stock and will then reinstall twrp/root etc and then custom ROMs. What is the best method to get back to stock recovery without LGUP?
Download the stock recovery .IMG or extract it from a stock ROM .zip and flash it in twrp

Haven't seen a stock ROM zip with a recovery file in it, at least so far. Any suggestions on where to find this would be appreciated.
