[APP][4.0+][v.1.1.0][STABLE] Aqua Camera Pro (FREE!!!) [UPDATE: 21.10.2014]

Hi all

Description
Take photos under the water! Water can't stop you from taking great photos anymore. Aqua Camera Pro is a camera application that enables you to use hardware keys or proximity sensor to take photos and shoot videos. These features are useful, when your device is waterproof, but has not dedicated camera button and you want to take photos and videos underwater. Initially camera has been developed for Sony Xperia Z smartphone, to use underwater, but during development it evolved to full featured camera app, which can be used as normal camera app. Number of supported devices getting more by each new update. The latest version supports all Xperia Z series, including Z Ultra, Z1, Z2, Tablet Z, Tablet Z2, and other manufacturer devices, e.g. Galaxy S4 active or Galaxy S5.
You have ability to use touchscreen buttons also like in other camera apps.
ATTENTION!!! USE YOUR DEVICE UNDERWATER IF ITS WATERPROOFNESS IS GUARANTEED BY MANUFACTURER. TAKE IT UNDERWATER ON YOUR OWN RISK.
The latest update gives you full featured Pro app for free that includes zoom and scene modes.
"A new camera app developed by xda-developer member AGGevorgyan allows you to take pictures on Xperia Z by tapping the proximity sensor. The idea behind this is that it makes it easier to take pictures underwater, given the absence of a dedicated camera button..." (c) xperiablog.net
"Taking pictures underwater is probably something that not many people have attempted. Of course, not only are the physical and hardware limitations preventing people from doing so, expect for a select ‘few’ devices, but physics tells us that capacitive touch screens will have a hard time registering any taps and swipes when under water. A physical camera button may remedy this issue on the Sony Xperia Z, but how about the proximity sensor?
As an answer to a question along similar lines, XDA Forum Member AGGevorgyan has developed an app that allows Xperia Z owners to easily take photos with the proximity sensor. Designed to rid users of the aforementioned problem, Aqua Z Camera will snap up pictures every time you tap the proximity sensor—simple as that. The sensor sensitivity, being the duration you have your finger covering the proximity sensor, can be adjusted within the app. The great thing is that it doesn’t require root access, meaning it’s a viable alternative to the physical camera button mod..." :good: sensor sensitive it too much, can u low it?????
all other things are fine :fingers-crossed:
Latest version works a treat. Autofocus is a bit slow but can't have everything.
Auto rotate would be nice, and maybe making it a Small app?

Sounds like a plan. Keep it up!:good:
I think you can add tag [ALPHA] in the title of the thread, so that people will know the condition of this app.

I have never worked with small app SDK, so may be in future.
Auto rotate is bit buggy and tricky, so I think, that it can wait until the last stages of development.

@AGGevorgyan
The new version fixed the force closure at the start of the app. It now works and I can take pictures with it (only tested outside of water so far!).
I would suggest, to not clutter the app with too much settings and keep it quite minimal, because when you are in water or underwater, you either don't have time (lack of air in lungs) or don't want to fiddle with many settings just to take a picture.
However, you could add a switch to enable video recording and start it with the proximity sensor. Also, please enable to turn of the Auto flash. I don't think it makes much sense underwater cause the water reflects the light anyway.
You could also change the app icon to a water drop with a camera inside, similar to what you have now, but add a finger which touches on the camera symbol inside the water drop to make it more appearent what the app is about.
My suggestion for an app name: Xperia Z Aqua Proximity Cam or Aquatic Z camera or Xperia Z Aqua Sensor cam
Lastly, I could help to translate the app settings (once there are settings) and description of the app in the play store into German. Let me know what you think about it.
The idea behind your app is simply awesome. So easy and a fresh idea. I like it.

I agree. But some settings can be set before going underwater.

I will add video switch in future. But currently you can just start recording before diving
Already working for flash switch.

Sorry, I don't planning this. Idea behind this app is proximity sensor. And volume keys will be used for zoom. But may be in future I'll add this as option. Thanks for suggestion
How about a time duration before it take shots?
Sent from my C6603 using voldemort's nose
v. 0.2.0
Added proximity sensor sensitivity setting. 3 options, based on time, during which you hold your finger on sensor. There is no another way, for example based on distance, because sensor of our phone returns only 2 values - 0.0 aka near, 1.0 aka far.
So options are
1. Maximum sensitivity (minimum time) - 100ms - default
2. Medium - 750ms
3. Minimum - 1500ms (1.5 seconds)

3. Minimum - 1000ms

HTC Sensation XL Black screen during calls [SOLVED]

Hey SXL-Users,
for all they have a black screen during calls, because the proximity sensor seems to be covered. (e.g. roms based on cyanogenmod)
I solved this by the app "Proximity Sensor Finder" (you find it in app store) in which I set the "proximitiy value when covered" at 0.0
Now I can display switch on/off with the power button ! Finaly! I can end a call by myself!
I hope it helps someone else
... In addition, no, the hardware is not broken! The light sensor and proximity sensor are reversed through the custom ROM.
FORGET THE FIRST POST!!!
The solution was this app !! A description can be found in YouTube at:
"Disable proximity sensor on android" by tech 4tress
I can't post a link. Maybe an other one can link the Video.

Anyone knows why moto camera and pick up to wake ambient display doesnt work on roms?

Use this app. Its not a built in function.

Why use the fingerprint reader when volume down works as shutter?

Proximity sensor issue

On my realme x2pro the proximity sensor does not work well, the screen is periodically off and on during the conversation. Are there custom firmwares with the ability to completely disable the proximity sensor? In cdroid, it is possible to disable sensors selectively for any application, but this does not apply to the proximity sensor (. Also, in any android11 firmware, you can display the disable button for all sensors in the shutter: for developers -> items in quick settings -> disable sensors, and this will really turn off the proximity sensor, and others, but then the camera stops working (
