sprint data not working on android - Touch CDMA Android Development

Hi, new poster here. I've only just started to tinker with my vogue after 2 years of suffering through WM6.1, unaware of all the outside possibilities. It's quite impressive really and i'm having a grand time with my new toy.
BUT.
I can't for the life of me understand why the data connection is not working.
I installed incubus' HTCSense release first, and it wouldn't connect (small little orange light next to the Ev symbol in notification bar:warning? error?), so I just wiped everything and installed the latest Donut. Now it says everything's fine, i can connect the modem and all, it even gives me an IP... but nothing that actually uses the data connection works; and I can't ping my IP from the outside, either.
I can't possibly be the only one with this problem, yet no thread on this forum seems to be addressing it. Does anybody know how I could track it down or work out a passable solution? I really don't have much use for Android if all it can do is be all kinds of pretty and switch between 5 screens silky-smoothly...
thanks in advance!
Vianney
PS: note that I'm on a Sprint plan, voice 200m + unlimited data, no text.

have you tried flashing back to stock windows, confirming data, then flashing to android again( either build).which voguimg.nbh file did you use?

Like hunter said, you need to flash back to the stock Sprint rom and provision data. You can download the stock rom for the vogue here or off of the Sprint downloads section. Nine times out of ten data problems seem to be because data wasn't provisioned prior to flashing Android.

this is also a good time to mention the forum search tool. since this question has been answered at least 100 times

Thanks for the suggestion! I don't suppose there's any way to save my settings/data while I flash everything back to winmo?
Provisioning might be the issue. But I had been using my Vogue on WinMo for 2 years and using data with no problem... that said, I changed my data plan from by-the-kb to unlimited since, so it might be that?
Hunter, I used incubus' included NBH for his Eclair, and voguimg-240x320-eclair-29-04-10.nbh for Vym's Warm Donut.
Kyle, I searched for a week before posting here so i'm familiar with this tool, but never could find the right answer; I'll happily educate myself if you provide me with the magic search terms.

Do a reboot and when the text/code starts scrolling push the volume slide up to get the install menu. There should be an option to backup data. When that's done you can put it into bootloader and flash to winmo. Once you know you have data working on winmo, try browsing around a little, you can go back into bootloader and flash the nbh file you're using for Android. When it reboots go back into the install menu. Install the system and then restore data and you're all set.

Many thanks guys, I switched back (after a few hours and scares), provisioned, switched again, and now I'm just having too much fun awesome job.

hi again
Do you have to redo this everytime data stops working? It was doing just great and stopped all of a sudden 36h ago. Now the modem connects but doesn't even get an IP, no data icon appears in notification bar, and yet all the options (sync, background data...) are back to normal.
ifconfig -a gives me info for 'lo', 'dummy0' and 'usb0', all supposedly ok but with no packet (8 on 'lo') and no error to track down.
Is it likely in need of reprovisioning? Am I going to have to do it every 15 days?
thanks,
V

Your data shouldn't just stop working. Have you trie a reboot?

several times yeah.
It's just not even trying. The modem says 'done' but that's it, any app using data just says it couldn't establish a connection... i'm baffled.

New to the Dream, questions! (and yes i searched for these first!)

what up yall! My ATT tilt died a few weeks ago (flex cable went bad, decided it was time to move on) so i got a G1 from my buddy that had a broken digitizer and LCD. ordered the parts online and got it put back together today. few questions though.... it seems that about the bottom 1/4 inch of my touch screen dosent respond....its brand new and the rest of it works fin...just the small strip that seems to not work. any ideas? also t mobile are assholes...i cant get them to unlock it but i will work on that one...im quite sure that answer is on here. Also...do i really need to get a data package or can i choose to keep my phone from constantly connecting and updating my gmail and other apps? thats the reason i continue to get HTC is because i think data plans are silly when everywhere in america has WiFI....i think thats all for now...and ive been a member on here for quite sometime but this android mess is totally different. lol. thank yall!
That 1/4" at the bottoms sounds like a bad digitizer. =/ *Most* likely not software. But you can check by flashing a new ROM and if its a software problem, the new ROM will override whatever was causing it not to work before.
You can get it unlocked for $20 from one of many unlocking websites, just google it. You can't get it free anywhere other than T-Mobile sorry to say.
You don't *need* a data package, I don't have one. There are applications that can disable your data connection except for when you need it (i.e. MMS). Or its a built-in widget with the Hero ROMs.
Unless you have a rooted ROM, you will be required to use your data to even use your phone for the first time as it requires you to sign in to your Google account, but doesn't give you the option to use WiFi. But honestly, I think this phone is crippled without a data connection even if you don't use it all the time, I'm currently waiting for my current plan to end to sign another 2-year contract with data. But its up to you, its certainly still usable with enough WiFi connection points.
darn....its not very fun to take apart...plus i have to wait even longer...im currently using an old school , non color green screen nokia probably digitizer and not some random flex cable along the lines? maybe the black one? i guess there wouldnt be any way to check without replacing. and im not real addicted to any apps or anything, just mainly want it as phone/organizer. im a studennt and have wi fi at the house and at school, and every bar i go to has wi fi so i think im covered =) just making sure i could regulate it so it dosent pull and jack my bill up. if i were to flash a new rom, wouldnt that unlock it....and can you still downgrade it to rc29 when you dont have a t mobile sim card....or rather is there any other way besides adp or should i just go ahead and learn how to use it...seems a bit intimidating to anything ive done on a WMo phone.
you can use apndroid to block data from being used accidentally
flashing a rom will not unlock the phone.
Yes you can downgrade to RC29 without a tmo card
mmmk. so rooting and flashing a HTC rom wouldnt do it? if im correct i either have to go through t-mobile or i have to pay like 20 bucks so i can use it with ATT?

I meant get around not having a Data connection. Rooting is obviously not optional.

ah ok i figured he already found that or would.
sorry
You can root without data. Just activate wifi at RC29 when trying to sign in

Rooted ROMs usually have an option to just skip signing into Google don't they? I know they have that for Hero for sure, but I was pretty sure they implemented that to all the cupcake/Donut ROMs too no?
Basically, you'll only need to use that with RC29. And if you do need to sign in and don't wanna use the work around, I would just go ahead and use the data, its only a few KB of info I think (I've never actually measured it, but I very small amounts on my bill even if I do use it to sign in, also using ATT btw).

all ROM's based on adp (and most modded tmo) have the option to skip (at least im pretty sure)
He just wants to activate his phone without data, which would require him to get down to a root level rom (RC29)
after he logs in, he has the option to root or wait for the OTA update if he wants to stay stock
if he wants to try to use his data, he can try but it doesnt always work (it did for me at first, but not the next few times)
ok so update... believe it was a bad digitizer...sending it back monday for a replacement so a few more days without the new toy) I got it registered to my Gmail and everything, and im currently waiting on my unlock code, so that is squared away. now...new questions.....
1. can i not just uncheck the auto sync and all the other data options or do i have to run adp? to make sure it dosent stay connecting and updating my mail and apps?
2. what positives do i have with rooting/flashing? obviously most of you probably have gone that route, and i really enjoyed flashing with my Tilt and having the newest WinMo, but it was always at the cost of it either being buggy or somethings not working. i know this can be searched but i want the simple answer if yall dont mind
3. i also noticed that the only thing so far that dosent work, is the camera/camcorder. keep in mind i got this phone with a broken lcd/digi. so there may have been other problems but i couldnt tell untill the screen was replaced. could it be i put it back together and missed a cable/contact for the camera, or could it just be software related?
...for now i think thats all the problems i have stumbled across... Thanks you all you are making this very easy for a Android Newbie!

1. That would stop just contacts, calendar, and gmail not all of the other apps that come with the phone
2. Rooting is definitely worth it, loving my hero rom
3. If your on RC29 there is no camcorder, but if not then it's definitely a hardware issue, when I was on stock everything worked fine
Just FYI: the unlock code is phone specific, so if your getting a replacement, the unlock code wont work on that one if the code you got was for the other.
1) If you want to disable data, download and run APNDroid. You can turn off autosync if you want but data will still be used.
2) Rooting has lots of advantages. Themes, faster updates (i.e youll get the latest android before its released OTA) more modifications, use of certain apps such as Ad-Free, etc. cooked android roms are more stable than winmo cooked roms, and you have the option between stable/experimental
3) if it was stock, its probably a hardware error
so could i potenitally not have any apps and not have a data pull problem? or it seems as though just rooting and flashing to hero (would you all go hero, or newer 1.6 stock rom, or custom 1.6?) and ill be taking it back apart to send the bad digitzer back, so ill check the ol camera out. still is stock T-mobile 1.5....no rc29 or anything....yet...
if you still have 1.5, you can use the 1 click root
im using hero right now, but i switch between hero and cyan using the switchrom script
the g1 on stock android will still use data even if you have everything disabled. the only way to completely disable it is by changing the apns, or by disabling mobile data on a hero rom
what was wrong with the camera? give a little more detail so we know if it really is a hardware or software problem
Quiccest way to get unlock code..just tellem you are goin to the uk or sum and you are in need of unlocking since u will be on there network for a while.. Usually that works!

SERIOUS SMS issues. cyanogen problem?

my phone is messed up. this is what i HAD:
cyanogen 4.1.9999 and using handcent sms. everythnig worked fine in terms of my sms. got my messages on time, in order, and all of mine would go through fine.
NOW i have:
cyanogen 4.2.1 and still using handcent. now my messages are random. sometimes it works, sometime i plain never get them. sometimes mine go through, sometimes they just get stuck in "sending". then other times ill get a message but hours later. and even ill get like 3 messages at once hours later, and they wont even be in the correct order!
now im not entirely sure what happened here. but i analysed everything and its seems to me that the problem might be the rom. because its just abuot the only thing that has changed from when it used to work. i did not wipe as cyanogen himself said it was not nessacery. i did do the fix permissions and fix file systems. didnt really help. but i have a few questions:
is anyone else having sms issues after updating?
OR is anyone else in the los angeles area having sms issues?
because ive also noticed that my 3g has gotten real crappy lately.
what could the problem be and what would you guys advise? please help. if its because tmobile is upgrading to that 7.2mbps thing then okay! lol if not then wtf? im not paying $70 a month for this garbage. i strongly think its tmobile but who knows. oh wait, YOU knows
I'm having the same issues on this ROM, I reflash and typically SMS works for a day or two and then totally ****s up.

same here and im on the 4.2.5 ....
I had same problem with Handcent and CM, reverted to Chomp and finally just use the "stock" sms app, it made the problem better but I am missing texts once and a while.
that's strange. I am not having this problem at all with handcent. I have been using it with all my cyanogens and I am currently running 4.2.5 and have used all his previous ones without this problem
This is so annoying! Cyanogenmod shouldn't be considered "stable" when there are stupid bugs like this. It's so embarrassing to ask people to resend their texts. Try bragging about the Android OS/Cyanogenmod to them after that.
I have a theory, only a theory mind you... and I am only a noob. But it seems like the missing texts problem on my phone is often related to the fact I am streaming audio via bluetooth to my hands free sytem while driving.
If I send texts to myself via Google voice while listening to music or Beyondpod, it is extremely unlike to reach me, but if I try again with music stopped I receive texts much more frequently. Anyone having this experience?
Or does anyone want to test this theory out?
Also would moving my notification sounds to system (currently on SD, since CM didn't include them) possibly help?
just clear the cache in sms. AND flash the new ROM.

The problem with that sentiment is that it's not the rom. The information you guys are giving is extremely limited. djcalamari took it a step in the right direction by letting us know what other things he was doing when the messages were missed. Theres also about a hundred other factors that could be causing your texting woes. I, for one, have never had any problems with texting on any version of CM, even the experimental builds. I can also vouch for tons of people who havent either.
Have you tried wiping and then reflashing? Have you tried formatting your ext partition? Have you tried clearing app data? Have you contacted your provider to make sure theres not a problem related to your sim? Cause you might want to try some of those things before blaming the developer for problems that only a very small number of people seem to be having.
I am going to wipe and reflash, been trying to avoid doing this but the problem warrants it. Backing up apps right now via Astro.
Question: If I wipe ext, can I just copy the files (i.e my apps)...wipe, then paste them back with no ill effects? What would be the best way to do this using a windows pc? A live cd of linux, or is there some easier way?
Hopefully it wont come to that, though. I don't know if I really want to wipe the ext, seems risky? I know these are noob questions, sorry in advance.

They're not noob questions, dont sweat it. At least you're being proactive. Heres what I would recommend you do:
make sure you have Amon_RA's 1.3.2 recovery installed. Once you do, boot to recovery, go to the console, type "utility" at the prompt and select the option to back up your apps to your FAT partition. Once it finishes, go back to the recovery menu, mount the sd card to your computer from the menu, and make a complete backup of your fat partition to your computer. After that, unmount the card and triple partition your card. This ensures that all of the data and symlinks get erased and the card is fresh. Once you do that, throw everything back on the card, follow the initial steps above (console->utility) and select the restore apps to ext option.
that takes care of your SD card. after thats all done (shouldnt take more than 5 minutes to do all that), perform a system wipe and then reflash the latest CM. reboot and you're all set.
My response to the HERO mms/sms thread...
Too bad the damn search function is limited to 4 characters.
Theres a laundry list of Roms with SMS/MMS issues. Most have unique fixes.
Best advice is to wipe , reformat your SD card , and start from scratch with said ROM. That way you eliminate most of the "problem is on your end" situations.
Too many roms get knocked out of wack for no apparent reason. Its almost impossible to search for a solution with a 4 character limit.
Ive had MMS issues with nearly every ROM Ive tried. Much as I love the performance had to move away from Cyan for now because my MMS issues were persistent with those ROMS.
i was haveing this same problem when i was running his roms so i called tmo and they said it was due to tower problems that ws 9 months ago ive since moved about 8-12 miles east of where i lived chaged roms but still use handcent....tmo and still sayin tower problems but " new towers will be built in roughly 120 days" from what tmo says i dont think its his builds its prolly tmo ...
by the way i live in wpb fl far far far away from ca but i was having a simialr issues so i figured id let ya kno oh yea and by calling and *****ing to tmo about it i got 10- 15 off my bill for 3 months ...it was to the point i was calling everyday submiting trouble tickets would ya kno it as soon as i hung up the reps were clearing out the problems ...go figure...

Thanks for the good advice. I am going to do this right now, that recovery image sounds pretty cool, lots of useful features! I hope this relieves my SMS issues after all is said and done, because other than this one issue, I love the rom!
If it doesn't, I may have to drop it, or my textaholic girlfriend may drop me!

Anyone Else Suddenly Lose Wireless Tethering On Sprint?

I'm starting this thread to see if anyone else has suddenly found themselves without the ability to use Wireless Tether for Root Users. I've used several ROMs, several kernels and several versions of WTfRU. I've been able to tether for since the day I rooted my phone. I don't use it that often and never have gone over the 5G cap that Sprint puts on our "unlimited" data service. I've wiped and flashed countless times since finding myself unable to tether. It's been a frustrating ride and I was wondering if I was alone.
ROMs I've used:
DamageControl 2.08.1
DamageControl 2.09.1
Darchdroid 2.7
Froyo AOSP 2.2
Cyanogenmod 2.2
Kernels I've used:
The stock kernels with the above ROMs.
Darch's 710 and 768 OC'd kernels.
WTfRU versions I've used:
1.06
2.02
2.05
I can't pinpoint the day that it stopped working for me. All I know is that one day I needed it and it wasn't working anymore. I can see the SSID of the network, but when I connect to it it just spins and times out. I've turned off the encryption. I've turned off the access control. I've even tried leaving my phone and WTfRU on stock settings, not even changing the SSID. I've tried everything I know how to do and I simply can't get this working again.
My phone will connect to other wireless networks and I can surf/chat/etc. My phone uses the 3G connection to do the same things just fine. My computer will connect to the same wireless networks my phone will and I can surf/chat/etc.
I can't imagine that Sprint would be able to block my computer from even connecting to my phone as a wireless hot spot. I could understand if they found a way to block the data traffic knowing that someone was rooted and using their phone as a hot spot, but not connecting to the hot spot itself.
I'm just hoping I didn't burn something up...

That's what I'm afraid of. I don't want to replace it, though. Last time I did that, they made me wait another year to upgrade. My upgrade is in October and I want to get an Evo... or whatever the next big thing that Sprint announces is. I was going to give this phone to my girlfriend so she could get rid of her f**king Palm Pre. On top of that, I can't just walk in and say, "Hey, my rooted phone that I'm using to wireless tether my computer to your network won't allow me to do this anymore. Could you replace it for me?"
ha!
I sold my Evo on Ebay for about $750 dollars..The Hero does almost everything the Evo does....except that we don't have two cams and a killer processor..
which ROM are you using tho?
Right now I'm using the Cyanogenmod 6.0.0 Test 4 that Darch has been working on with other people... and I'm not sure whom. I just got excited for Froyo and uploaded it. Anyway, that's the one I'm using now. I've also, just today while fighting this issue, tried DamageControl 2.08.1 and 2.09.1. I went back to Cyanogenmod, though, because I'm digging it.
I know this won't be much help, but... I'm not sure what I did but it's working now. Yes, I know... big help.
In the past 48 hours I've done everything I listed above. I also updated my PRL. I wiped data and Dalvik many times. I've uninstalled and reinstalled. I even turned it on and off again like Roy told me to. I also shook a voodoo doll at it and cursed at it in every language I know. I'm not sure which one did it, but it's working now.
Try PDANet Free from the market, and dont use the tether or share internet option, just hook it up as a disk drive and launch PDANet on your comp and on your phone. works flawlessly for me.
easytether is much cheaper if you go that route.
I had this problem as well, it depends on what version you are using. the one in the market no longer works for heros, you have to go to the wifi tether website and download 1.6, the latest version that works with the hero.
There is no 5GB cap on the unlimited data plan.

I actually have a similar problem that may end up being related somehow: I am able to start the Wireless Tether, haven't yet tested the connectivity with another device, but the phone locks up when trying to stop the tethering. I have tested with several ROMS and with each and every ROM I have tested it works fine... Until I apply the "damage537.zip", "damage710.zip", "damage710v2.zip", or "damage768.zip" OC Kernels.
As far as I can tell they're all just variations of the same Kernel, set to different OC stats out-of-the-box, so to speak.
I'm a troubleshooter by nature, so I've devoted some thought to this problem. Here's what I've come up with so far:
I perform full wipes (data, Dalvik, SD:ext, battery, and rotate) before installing any ROM.
Th ROMS I've tested so far are: Fresh Hero 2.3.3, Fresh Toast v21 heroc, Hero.C.Sprint_2.27.651.6 Deodexed, RegawMOD v2.1r, RegawMOD v2.1t
With each and every ROM tested: the full wipe was done; the ROM applied; the default version of Wireless Tether for Root tested successfully; the Wireless Tether updated from Market; tested successfully; the OC Kernel applied (each of the four mentioned above tested;WITHOUT performing another wipe first); tested UNSUCCESSFULLY.
Am I doing something wrong in these steps as listed? Are there other OC Kernels available somewhere that can be tested? How about some more ROMS (when's that Wiki going back up??? )

I had this problem as well, it depends on what version you are using. the one in the market no longer works for heros, you have to go to the wifi tether website and download 1.6, the latest version that works with the hero.

I wasn't using one from the Market. I went here and downloaded wireless_tether_1_60_htc.apk. As I said above, this always worked for me before. I wasn't sure why it quit working. It's working again now, though, but it seems to be a bit... strained. Getting it to connect is wonky, but when it does connect it works fine. Still not sure what's going on there.

Read your service agreement. I pulled this directly off the service agreement on the website for the "unlimited" data plans:
Data Usage Limitation (Mobile Broadband Cards, USB Modems, Embedded Modems and Phone-As-Modem):The amount of data transmitted over our network is measured in kilobytes (KB), megabytes (MB) or gigabytes (GB). Sprint reserves the right to limit throughput speeds or amount of data transferred; and to deny, terminate, modify, disconnect or suspend service if usage either exceeds (a.) 5GB/month in total, unless specified otherwise or (b.) 300MB/month while off-network roaming. 1024KB equal 1MB. 1024MB equal 1GB.

No Data after flashing roms, this is probably a stupid question...

Okay so over the past few days I've been flashing a bunch of diff roms to see what I like. I've had a constant problem with getting mms to work on any of them. Well I was doing all of this from home and always had wireless to use for data, hence I used it.
Tonight, however, after flashing a few diff roms I found out I didn't have a data connection at all. Tried a couple diff cm6 nightlies and the blackmod of cm6, and after flashing the only way I can access the internet is through wi fi. Otherwise I got nothing.
Sooo, maybe my mms problem was just this all along or maybe not. Anyway, what could be the cause of losing all data connectivity. Phone says it's connected in status. And the widgets somehow magically update. But the browser, market, mms, etc don't work at all.
I'm gonna flash the 0.7 aospmod and see what happens. Any help you can offer is appreciated.
And yes, I might just be an idiot. Forgive me.
Just flashed aospmod v.07 and same ****. No data connectivity.
What gives? I feel stupid.
a guess
possible APN settings issue, did you flash back to a 2.1 sense rom, and try an Over The Air activation and update profile?
I honestly don't know but thats a guess... I use my phone with pageplus (verizon) and editing my APN settings is what fixed it for me.
Ruu. Started fresh.
Everything seems to be okay.
Thanks.
This happens on a lot of roms. I've found to fix it all u have to do is toggle on and off either or both airplane mode and moblie network.
I found having to open browser and put in my cell number b4 sprint data would work, also prl update works for me.

I had this happen to me (including all bars showing and things refreshing) and spent several hours working on it only to determine the only solution was to RUU and start over....but its faster this time around because you have nandroids....just flash one after you re root from before you lost data (if you have one) and if not, back up your apps and data with titanium backup or mybackup pro...
(I had tried all the things listed in the previous posts....not saying they wont work for you, but in my case, they didn't)

[Q] Newbie question - Bell HTC Touch switch to Android - please advise

Hi, I've read FAQ and used search but I'm still confused. I have Bell HTC Touch on famous $10 unlimited data option, running NFSFAN's WinMobile 6.5 ROM.
What is the best Android ROM for me to use? Will it work with Bell correctly?
What is the exact detailed step-by-step process of upgrading from NFSFAN's ROM to Android? I'm confused about kernel and rom etc.
Will I have any problems with Bell's data plan - does it matter for them if I change OS? NFSFAN's rom works fine. Will I have laptop tethering (internet connection sharing in NFSFAN's rom)?
What features currently don't work, will I lose anything? (blutooth, gps etc.?)
Does Android works faster than WinMobile 6.5 on Touch? Is it fast enough and stable? Is it worth upgrading at all?
All advice appreciated. Thanks.
I have been running Cyogenmod's ROM for a while now and it works great on our phones.
As far as I know, everything does function correctly (Data, Bluetooth)
If you are doing this for the first time then I would recommend that you run thoughtlesskyle's ROM (Not so free Super Froyo). That one is a lot more stable.
If you look at the sticky on the main page, there is a thread that will guide you step by step on how to get this running on the phone.
I have been using Android on this phone (I'm with Bell too) for over a year now and haven't had any issues at all with data usage and such.
Sure it may not be as quick as Windows Mobile OS but it is definitely worth it.

Thanks. Is there a way to 100%-proof block the data connection (for example when going to US)? In WinMobile 6.5 I just changed "777" to "776" in data connection settings, and that worked perfectly. Is there a way to do this in Android?

It's not quite what I meant, I have data in Canada, just want to be able to temporarily disable it when I'm in the US for example, to avoid exorbitant charges.
Also, the link to NBH files at it029000.massey.ac.nz/vogue/files/?C=M;O=D is dead and I can't find any mirrors... Does anyone know the mirror or can post file with the two common kernel types referred in the guide?

I have no data plan on my touch but I would assume that in the wireless networks settings box killing data should work
It's easy to shut off the data in the menus. I do it at work sometimes because the poor signals drain the battery otherwise as it keeps trying to connect.

Thanks. Now the only thing I'm missing is a working link to the NBH file - the one in the guide does not load and I can't find any mirrors... BTW which kernel should I use for "not so free super froyo" recommended to me?
OK, it worked. Thanks fo everyone for your advice! I only have calibration problem (it's off after every reboot) and can't make ADB file manager to see the phone...
screen calibration tools in the menu has a save option choose that and it will save after every reboot
have fun
Can't help with adb if your on Windows I'm a Mac it just auto recognizes and shows the sdcard
Thanks! Calibration problem solved. The only thing it seems to eat the battery like crazy, I don't kno why... Full charge - and after no talking, just some fiddling with android and mostly just lying around, and overnight the battery is almost gone... The exactly same phone that my wife has, on WM6.5, is 3/4 full... I remember in WM there was a data connection idle time trick, but here I don't see any options about that...
OK, I've solved the battery problem - I'm going to write a separate post about this.

I am on bell too, just make sure in setting data off during roaming, works fine for me when i went to the states.
Another newbie question: I am also on Bell. After flashing Android, do I need to install Carrier file for data plan? If so, can anybody give Bell link?
Download the nbh from sourceforge git (via atools)
