try this exactly: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=688000

mrandroid,
OK, I went ahead and tried that. I still have problems. When I go to flash CM it fails the verification. I have tried CM versions in the past with the same result. I have even went as far as to verify the files by MD5s. I have tried what I have seen in other posts and downloaded the files through different browsers... to the same results. I often wonder if it has something to do with my phone. Even when I do nand backups the resulting images seem to fail verification, specifically system.img and userdata.img. The only zip update packages that I have been able to verify are small ones. I hope all this information leads way to a solution to my problem.

Not completly bricked

Hi guys im wondering if any of you can help me out here.
I have been on cyanogen (latest) for a while but decided to have a go at puting the ''donut'' rom in the android development bit of this forum (eu version as im in uk) on my phone this evening.
I flashed the base version fine and it started up great. Then I flashed the extention (add on) part and it started up but after the ''android'' screen it just went black and nothing happend. So i did a hard reset and tried again, same problem occured.
I then tried to put the latest cyanogen rom back on my phone, put to root, started it up then BAM stuck on g1 screen. Didnt get passed it. So put other roms later cyan roms on and still same problem occurs.
I then freeked out and tried to go back to RC29, so i deleted everything of my sdcard and put the dreming file on, pressed power and camera button and then BAM it comes up with some sort of cyanogen screen and not the rainbow screen. So havent got a clue how to install the dreming file. So gave up there
So this is where im at. Nothing on my sd card. Still got cyan on my phone but cant get it started up, no matter what rom I try it keeps getting stuck on g1 screen.
I know this is completly retarded but I really need help to get this sorted.
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT
Thanks
Have you been wipping?
Wiped before flashing donut rom...And when trying to put cyanogen rom back on...
If you can boot into recovery or into fastboot then you should be fine.
Wipe, if you use appps2sd the wipe your ext partition as well.
Flash base defanged rom from Cyan's site and flash Cyan's latest (Check md5 sums of both to make sure that your downloads are not corrupted. Fix permissions and you should be ok. If you still can't boot up (and it will take a while to boot up after a wipe) then you can go back to RC29. Just make sure that your nbh file is named exactly Dreaimg.nbh and your card is formated to FAT32, otherwise fastboot will not find it.
Good luck.

Wow lots of help there thanks.
Firstly tho I cant find this ''base defanged rom'' from cyans website? Can you give me a pointer as to where it is? Is that its name on the website or is that it in short?
Forget that I found ''DRC83_base_defanged.zip''. Downloading it now.

(TT)Odin not repartitioning

I have found that with some phones using ODIN to flash Froyo and then back to the stock 2.1 it will not repartition the internal. We need to find out how to repartition the internal memory back to stock. I believe whats going on is that because ODIN will not repartition the internal some of the data from Froyo is causing problems with 2.1. Thus causing bootloops, market place errors and not registering the modem or baseband says unavailable. Also not reading sim cards.
Reserved for a fix.
my phone was acting up so flash it with Eugene's Froyo that never brick then flash it back to stock 2.1, took me long time to find out a way using adb to reboot my system.. i tried doing the re=partition but it took a long time.. and there's no indicator that it is being partition.. so i just flash with stock 2.1 without re-partitioning the SD and it works like a charm.. after stock was installed.. i flash it again with bionix1.3..
Tried that didnt work. Also when you repartition it deletes all data on internal, I can check it to repartition and it will flash whatever rom im installing but doesnt repartition.
I also was able to re partition by flashing the Froyo that does not brick, then a ODIN flash of the stock 2.1 with the re partition box checked in ODIN. This worked great for me! Please view my post below for the fix info and the credits to who came up with it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788238&highlight=voodoo+brick
Did that too didnt work. As the OP states ODIN will not repartition my internal at all, I have tried everything in the forums. Lets put it like this I have been reading and trying everything that I have found for the last 2 weeks, nothing has worked. I will try every method posted in here and see which one fixes my phone.
Hmmm that's odd. Well hopefully you get it working.

Just tried the method you posted, still goes into a bootloop and wont read my sim. Also did not wipe my data or repartition my internal. Anymore Ideas are very welcome will try them all.

Are you still able to get to clockwork recovery? You could just format sdcard in that. Then use odin without repartition.
T-Mobile Vibrant T959
ROM: Eugene373's Vibrant9
Kernel: Jac's ExtremeMod UV/OC
Lagfix: Voodoo beta4
Yes I have tried that and formatting all partitions in the partitions menu, didnt work either.
Please don't think I am assuming you did something wrong but you did use the Froyo that Eugene put out a while back right? the "Froyo that does not brick"? I just want to make sure you had tried that one. Im sure you have but just want to make sure because I flashed another Froyo out there and it messed up my internal memory and my phone was not recognized when I tried to mount it. Thank God it was still recognized in Odin.
I will explain what happened. I used the other froyo first, of course like an idiot. Well I didnt like it and just got the phone didnt read up like I should have and used a nandroid of Vibrant9, thats where it started it bricked right there. So I used odin to flash the froyo that doesnt brick, repartitioned and then did the flash back to stock and got nothing but a boot loop. Well I found a way to get around the boot loop and use the phone but market place and my signal suffer severly. Every since then the phone hasnt been the same its been depressed bc I havnt found a way to fix it yet.

Please Help S-on Bootloop

I have no idea what happened, my Hero has been rooted for over a year now and never had any problems. I flashed a herodeck rom version 1.2 and after that I could not flash any more roms but could restore all my nandroids. So I used this, RUU_Hero_C_Sprint_2.27.651.5_R_signed_release.rar, to go back to stock and installed unrevoked, and all went well. I then flashed this TeamHeroC-2.3.5-01OCT-CM-V2.zip and finally it worked and was working great until last night my battery went dead and when I plugged it in to charge it powered up to the white HTC screen and has been stuck there since. I have tried to reflash , restore nandroids, and even hboot a HERCIMG and that is when I noticed S-ON. and since this has happened every file I try to flash comes up corrupt and the latest CM rom came up no signature, and I keep getting errors such as this. So right now all I can do is boot into recovery or Hboot. Please someone help me with this. I love this phone!

Check md5sums of the zips in your sd card to verify no corrupt files. Also make sure signature verification is not toggled in CWM.

Thanks for the advice, I will check the Md5sums but I am actually using darchstar's RA recovery at the moment. Also I have formatted my sd card a couple of times and ran disk check on it and also downloaded the roms and files several times.
Hi,
If u have the time, unroot the same way again and then reroot but this time use ROM manager(free version). Update to latest recovery and then
Start over.
It sucks but without the proper knowledge its difficult to fix some issues. So starting over is easiest.
Good luck

Can u flash anything else?
If so, u may just have a bad download or u have to do at least a factory reset b4 flashing anything.
Good luck
Unroot zip file is also EZ if u just want stock out of the box back on ur phone.

Again thanks for the advice but I can't even do that now as I am stuck on the HTC screen and all I can do besides look at a white HTC screen is boot recovery (darchstars RA recovery) and boot into bootloader. Everything I try to flash will not verify for some reason or another(corrupt or unsigned or something crazy like that) and the RUU will not connect to the phone because it is stuck at the white HTC screen. This one has really stumped me as I have brought this phone back from some bad predicaments, or at least I thought they were. I did get it to try and flash a hercimg of an extracted RUU that is on this forum but it ends up saying no image found and just goes back to the bootloader menu.

Try downloading a recovery from Dastin's thread. Rename it HERC.IMG and place in the root of the SD card. Bootloader and flash. Power down then hold home and power back up to see if recovery worked. See if you can get any recovery flashed at all and if you do you can fix anything then.

I finally got clockwork recovery 2.5.0.7 by using adb to push to sd card and then flashing from adb. Still can not do anything else, it is still acting the same.

You might want to try getting s-off via darch's method. Then flash the eng-spl. Then do a fastboot erase system -w. Then reflash your recovery to see if that helps. If you need any of the files mentioned just pm me and I'll send you a dropbox link. You should be able to get back up and running this way. Good luck.

Are you formatting boot, system, cache, and data before flashing any of these roms? I do it 3x for each partition to make sure everything is wiped clean.
I have always thought that unrevoked was a permanent s-off unlike darch's which is temporary. I have both. I have always felt that if i can get into recovery, I'm golden. Make sure everything is wiped (not just data and cache) before you flash a new Rom.

Yes, a couple of times, manually and with Light's format and Caulkin's format. and also I tried to fastboot hercimg.zip of the extracted RUU and all was going well and it actually finally asked if I wanted to apply the update like it is suppose to and it started loading and then when it finished it rebooted hboot and tried to install it again and also at this point I had s-on again. So I redone everything and am now back to s-off.

Are you still on a stock "sense" rom right now? What is your PRL, Radio, and PRI? Make sure everything is updated and you should be ready to go now. Since you are S-off now, I would place a HERCIMG.zip on your sd card of a recovery (I've been liking the 4.0.1.4 Orange Lantern that Dastin compiled (which is an unofficial CWM) just so that I have it at the ready in case anything goes south.
If your s-off again make a nand if you can. Also like dp asked what rom, radio, are you on???. Also imo you should flash Ra1.7 untill your back up and running for this process and just revert back when all this is done. Also you should do a fast boot erase system -w to clear everything out. Then backup your sd to your pc and format it as well. Once threw your pc and restore the defaults and then threw your recovery. Which is y I suggest Ra it makes it quick and easy. Ill check back here to see were your at threw out the day.
Edit: Pm sent.

The last rom I was on was [ROM][03-OCT-2011][TeamHeroC-2.3.7 - 2.6.35 Kernel] but I am stuck at the white HTC screen right now has been all day. When you say RA 1.7 recovery are you talking about Darchstar's RA 1.7?
Still no luck everything I try to flash fails, I kept getting an error 5 in clockwork recovery when trying to flash CyanogenMod 7 for the HTC Hero (CDMA) :: V7.1.0 (9 Oct 2011).

HELP! - Stuck booting to Recovery after trying to flash CM10 :(

Hi,
I flashed my GT-i9000 (Firmware was Gingerbread BUJVY) using CF Root (CF-Root-XW_NEE_JVH-v3.2-CWM3RFS.tar) through ODIN.
All worked fine and I was able to boot into Recovery using the regular Volume Up+Home+Power.
I then proceeded to flash CM10 nightly (23/9/12) (from my external Micro SD card) by wiping data, wiping cache and wiping Dalvik Cache.
I then navigated to the zip file for CM10 and run it. It started ok then qiuckly the phone rebooted and rebooted into a newer version of CWM (6.0.1.4).
From here I cannot do anything at all!! It won't recognise my Micro SD now to even run the installation again
I'm hoping someone may be able to help, I would really appreciate it!
TIA!

Do you know what version is your Firmware? is it 2.3.3 or 2.3.6?, IF its 2.3.3 your boot loader needs to be updated to 2.3.6 for you use , If its already 2.3.6, than you should be able to use CWM recovery to reinstall the CM 10 from your SD card. (But by doing this you may lose your IMEI as you should do a progressive upgrade , like from GB 2.3.6>ICS CM9>JB) or flash a semaphore JB kernel
Easiest way out would be for you to use a JVU ROM to recover, safe your EFS, than proceed to CM 9 and than to CM 10...
you can get a rescue kit or JVU+CFRoot from My Android Collections and or a solution from My Android Solutions
Hi there,
I was on Gingerbread 2.3.6 before I ran the above.
I have gotten a bit further than the above. I managed to mount the phone as a USB whilst in CWM and put the CM10 zip file on the actual phone memory. I then wiped data/cache/dalvik and rerun the install. It installed but didn’t reboot itself, so I rebooted manually and then the Cyanogenmod logo started up and it booted into CM10. Looked ok apart from the Home Button didn’t work!!
Do you think I should still run the above??
Rooting this phone and flashing ROMS is more difficult than my Galaxy S3!!
Cheers

Since you are already on CM 10, you need to solve your home button problem, try doing a wipe in recovery, if fails, flash again the CM 10
Hmmm, it didn’t work.
What I’ve done since though is try to flash another ROM.
I’ve flashed the ‘xBean’ ROM with success, however, I did encounter the exact same problem when flashing the ROM as mentioned above
I wiped data/cache/dalvik and run the install for xBean. It stopped after the first install attempt and rebooted itself, however it just brought me back to the CWM screen (although this time different from the CM CWM).
So I wiped data/cache/dalvik, then run the install again. This time it went through the full install but again (like with CM) it didn’t rebooted automatically. I manually rebooted and then the xBean logo came up and booted in.
This time the home button is working, and pretty much everything else is too by the looks of it. So far so good!
I guess my question would be, why does the ‘ghost installs’ keep happening???

[Q] HELP - Softbrick Galaxy Tab 8.9 Telstra p7320

Hi guys, having some serious issues with my Tab. It's the Telstra GT-P7320T.
So I had it rooted and flashed with the glitkis kernel all working fine still on the standard Telstra version of honeycomb. Then when their update for ICS finally came out (after nearly 6 months of knocking it back) I went to update it in the normal manner, not thinking it would have a hissy fit with the root and the custom kernel.
So after it downloaded it did its pre install bit, it rebooted, but then loaded into CWM recovery, and thats where its stayed. I've tried factory resets, clearing and formatting all the caches (davlik, system etc) i've used adb to push a few different roms and kernels etc to the device but nothing ive tried has worked. I flashed arlics ics rom, but it still just boots into recovery. Ive tried flashing the stock kernel and stock recovery but when i try to install zip from sd them they fail "install aborted (bad)"
Anyone got any ideas on what process and files I should try? Ive searched up and down the forum trying different methods for fixing soft brick and returning to stock but to no avail.
Cheers

hey mate,
i was just caught out by this last night. all you need to do is re-flash on a stock rom with ether oden of heimdall and youre good to go. im sure there is a oden flashable rom on these forums
take it sleazy!
Cheers mate,
Ive been trying to reflash a stock rom by pushing it to the sd card and installing it, but when i go to install it from recovery it tells me the rom file is bad and aborts, like its corrupt or something, so maybe i need to find some different downloads to try. Thanks, there's hope still at least, lol. I'll find the odin file and try doing it that way.

yeah, i think its becaute the cwm recovery doesnt know what to do with the update.
you need to have the stock recovery installed. dont take my word for it though.
just look up a tutorial for flashing a rom via oden. its really easy, just make sure the image you are flashing is of .tar.md5 extension.
You can get the stock rom at sammobile.com. down load the zip file then extract the .tar.md5 file out of it using 7-zip.

OK, so I downloaded the stock telstra rom off the forum here, its at the top of page 3 at present, flashed that with Oden, which fixed the soft brick and allowed me to boot again. I then flashed the stock recovery, rebooted, got into the system and downloaded the ICS update again. Once it rebooted, with the stock recovery it was able to install and successfully boot into ICS!! I was more stoked than I've ever been before, let me tell you, lol.
how ?
