noob question on radio after froyo

after i came back from froyo my video player wasnt working. i know that the froyo radio wont work on any cyan rom but my question is what radio do i need and where can i get it from. ive never flashed a radio before so thats why im asking. thanks
Development section sticky roms, radios , kernels.
Radios post #3
Ok thanks just flash in recovery?

Question about the radio.

Im currently running modaco r22 an im looking to try out one of the froyo roms but i saw that i have to update my radio i was wondering if i update my radio so i can install the froyo rom if it will stay updated, if i dislike the the froyo rom an want to come back to modaco do i have to degrade the radio? or if i do a nandroid backup i dont have to worry about downgrading the radio?
(if anybody would like to help) *which is the best froyo rom?*
Wrong forum, this should be in Q&A. But if you want to go back to a non-Froyo ROM, you can flash a 4.03/4.04 radio just like you did the 4.06 to downgrade.
oh sorry for placing it in the wrong forum, so basically if i get a froyo rom an dislike it i just have to flash the radio i have now?
If you go to cyanogen 5.0.8 you don't need to downgrade radio. On any other non froyo rom you need to downgrade radio.

Some people get crazy when stuff's posted in the wrong place.
Basically, if you upgrade to CM 5.08 or a Froyo-based ROM, you'll need the 4.06 (Froyo) radio.
If you decide to go back to a 2.1 (non CM 5.08) ROM, you'll want to downgrade your radio as well, otherwise some things may not work properly (camera, etc.).
Thread moved to Q&A.
Oh ok thanks a lot tjsimm... I really appreciate it.

No problem. As for the ROMs, I've been enjoying Kang-o-Rama 0.9. It's now in Final, and it's rock solid. Haven't had any issues at all.

newest froyo

Can someone please tell me where i can download the newest froyo radio cause im told that will fix the force closes im gettin switchin to the camcorder on 720p runnin cm6 rc2. Ive got the original one an the Korean one but they dont fix the problem. Ive been told theres another one. Tried searching but no luck
Look in the stickies in Development section.
I have ive tried those two radios but some ppl are tellin me theres a newer one
Than those people know more then us here, ask them the build number? 5.08 is the latest radio (at least that I have seen here on XDA).

Then they either have some internal non-released radio from HTC (highly unlikely, though not impossible) or are simply wrong/misunderstanding your question.
You need either 4.06.00.12_7 or 5.08.00.04 (ie. the two existing Froyo radio versions). You would need them regardsless though since CM6 is a Froyo rom and will have video problems with older radios.
Yea ive tried both of those radios an am usin the korean one now an im still havin the camcorder force closes. There were a couple ppl on cyanogenmod forums who said theres one 32.36.00.28U_4 06.00.2_2 an thats the newest one an they gave a link to download it but it doesnt work an cant seem to find any info on that one anywhere. Maybe they just made the **** up lol

[Q] SEVERELY in need of Radio/Kernal/SPL help.

I've been looking for hours on this site and many other sites and I CANNOT find what I am looking for ..yes I went thread by thread but I just CANNOT find what im looking for.Im wanting to run Cyanogenmod 6.1 on my g1 but I just dont know where to find the latest radio image/SPL/kernal.I might have found the kernal but I desperately need help finding everything anyways just in case I might have missed something. Thanks
umm did you try this? http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=HTC_Dream
It has links for everything that you need.
it showed me that i was running EBI0 but i could not download the new radio becasue im assuming its outdated and the link didnt work neither . =[ ?
OK I have a rogers dream so it's not exactly the same but I will see what I can do to help.
What do you have now? radio/spl/ROM
Do you have root?
Once you let me know these things I will see what I can find.
I have the Cyanogenmod 6.1 with the dangerspl . i think its the latest one. and I have 2.22.19.26I radio
OK Then I am misunderstanding what you want. As your already running Cyanogen 6.1
I might be wrong , but I think you are after this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=831139
its the radio/spl for the extra 15mb ram
note you will need a compatible kernel, if it is CM6.1 then I think the easiest to use is Firerat's Magpie, A friend set mine up but I'm getting into the swing of things
google for "firerat magpie" , but I can't remember if you need to be logged in to cyanogen to be able to follow links

Hi, I might be wrong, but if I remember well, there is no FM Radio in neither ICS/JB. But there is an application in the market called FM Radio you can download and it works.
No FM on ICS/JB
There is no custom roms (ICS/JB) which has Radio in built.
There is an app called "Spirt FM" in market which you can use to listem FM on your I9000 however few users have also reported that this app has damaged there rear speakers as well so think/read before you use it.
