I get an error that says error : run 'nandroid.sh restore' via adb
Can someone explain what went wrong and how to fix this?

Did you rename your backup? If you did you need to rename it without spaces.
No. Actually I did a nand backup of my fresh 2.1.2rom. The five minutes later, I tried to restoremy backup of my stock rom and got that message. Then I tried to restore to my fresh Rom that i just backed up. And got that same message.

check the space on your sd card and battery level.
My battery is kinda low (in the red )
Will that cause it?

I believe so. Let it charge and get above 50% at least.
Hope that helps.

I get the same error most of the time when doing a nandroid restore, but when i restart my phone the phone works fine. All apps and services work. Not sure why that shows up but it hasn't interfered with me doing a restore.

Same thing happened to me when I tried re-installing HTC Ringtone trimmer, it kept boot looping and when I tried to nand restore I got the same error. I powered off the phone after trying 3 times, tried again and worked without a problem.
What I have found when this happens is there are too many backups in the nandroid folder....... Delete a few that you may not need and then try again.....I am not sure why this happens or what the majic number is but I try to keep it under 5 backups and have not had this problem since...
Hope this helps
I only had 2 backups in my nandroid folder. And thanks for suggesting the battery solution. I let it charge a little past 50% and tried it again and worked.

Hey there,
I've got this SGS I9000 of a friend and tried to install a different ROM,
I already did it many times to other GS, though this one seems to be a tough one to crack.
For starters, He did not have the download mode, I've fixed it and placed the files on the SD of the phone.
Then I failed the root through Z4 and SOC, so I did it through Odin.
I got into the recovery (after made it 2e and not 3e), did the root and since then the phone won't got through the "Galaxy S GT-I9000 Samsung" screen.
Enters Download Mode, Enters Recovery, Nothing else.
I already did the factory and cache wipe, still nothing new.
I looked over through all the guides with nothing new, I let the phone "rest" on the screen I've mentioned above, not for 10 minutes, for 8 hours. Still, no cigar.
Any suggestions?
Just go to download mode connect it to pc and flash it via odin

Do you mean flash in the new rom?
Though after I rooted the device it still won't start up, and I havnt backed up the efs yet (through SGS TB).
Is it safe to skip that stage and flashing the rom directly?
I wanted to make sure after I did all the resets the phone still working and all the things I've placed on the SD are still there, and that the settings I've made were still the same.
If i was on your place i would flash it. It is not working so you don't have much to loose except apps, messages and contacts if they are on the phone.

Thats just it, I dont care of contacts messages etc. I already backed em up through KIES.
(Which is closed if I forgot to mention).
The problem is I don't want to lose any important information (thats why I'm eager to backup the efs and check if the root through the recovery worked.)
After I wiped to factory reset wasnt it supposed to start up? (Which I remember from other GS that happened?)
But if you have wiped your device all data is already lost.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
so how do I know if the root worked? The efs Data still supposed to be there (since I realized it's on the SD, and data on SD was not wiped after I saw all the files I placed there still there.)
Any more offers? Anyone?
Pretty Urgent..
Hey guys,
I've recently recovered from a problem using odin3
That problem involved restocking from cognition to froyo
I mistakenly tried restoring from 2.1 so the phone could not go on past galaxy logo and so I used odin3
Odin3 - Download mode - hit 'start' on odin3
I did not factory reset
From there when I got back to 2.1 exclair, I updated, rooted, used kernel to resolve signature issue when trying to go into CWM recovery. Then I restored using CWM. Backup was successful.
After the backup, I felt the phone being a bit slower than before. Then today the 'phone' became unresponsive. I could not call or even press buttons and when I tap on contact nothing would pop up but black screen. When I try to enable mobile data, it would fail to do so.
All of these issues are resolved for a while when I reboot my phone.
I am not sure why my captivate is having trouble with mobile stuff...
Any ideas?

Did you restore via titanium backup? I am guessing here but I would BET that some setting got carried over either via tibu or something left on the phone since you didn't factory reset. I would SUGGEST running tibu and backing up ALL your apps again. Then factory reset. Then reinstall by opening up market so that you have to sign back into your Google account. Then go to market and reload any apps in your account via the market. Then make sure to also reinstall titanium backup. Then use the BATCH MODE and ONLY restore USER APPS and maybe USER APP and DATA. MAKE SURE NO SYSTEM APPS GET RESTORED.

Hey! That is exactly what I did!
I first downgraded and then did factory reset
Moved titanium backup folder to computer and used them to restore only missing apps and data
My captivate is working great once again

Just wondering if you're battery is bloated and therefor not holding proper charge? Place it on a table and see if it spins.

I have a stock Android 2.3.6 galacy exhibit 4g and when I boot up into recovery, an update is automatically found, installed and then reboots the phone doing the same thing every time recovery is booted into. My problem is, I cannot find this update package in my internal sd storage to save my life nor do I even know what the update package would be called. Can anyone please help?

I'm not certain but it might be called update.zip, because if I remember that's the only name that will flash in the stock recovery. As for finding it, just try searching for update.zip. it should be on the root of the sdcard(no folder) because that's the only way I thought it could install. Any ways I'm probably wrong but at least you can try.

I'm not sure really what CSC code is but I think your talking about stock Odin flash able package. That should get you back to stock and flash the stock recovery and wipe everything. However i think it will bootloop after it flashes so you will have to boot into recovery and wipe data. If so check out the wiki. There is all the info you need. I have another idea though. I haven't done this myself but you should be able to push a clockworkmod recovery.img to the phone from a terminal if you have adb also in the wiki. I can't view your pic because I don't have a Facebook but maybe someone else can. Good luck

That is the stock update pushed by Samsung from what it sounds like. Also sounds like a data packet might have dropped during the downloading of it causing a bad install. For simplicity get cwm Installed and boot thru that and flash from cwm. Wiki has all the info needs.
Wiki please read completely on rooting and install of cwm. Suggest 6.0.1.2 version. Personal preferences on that.

Problem solved. I just randimly pushed the 3 buttons on the phone before the rebooting part came up in the script and finally got the menu, took may tries to get to that point but as soon as I got to that point, I was quick to install clockworkmod successfully. Now problem is gone. Hope this thread maybe helps someone else

I have a similar problem. Which 3 buttons are we talking about? Power+Home+VolUp?
Easiest way, take out battery, push volume up and power, insert battery while holding, when Samsung appears release only power, when the android guy with package appears press menu
Sent from my SGH-T679 using xda app-developers app
Make sure you push the "Menu" capacitive button (left in the row of four buttons below the screen) when you see the green Android guy and the box. That will get you into the stock recovery menu.
I had to reboot into recovery a couple of times because I missed that part. What a pain!
Hi everyone,
I have had Zeus 7.6 (GB based) for a long time, but the other day it started freezing a couple of times a day, and other weird things, so I thought: it's time to give ICS a go.
I then used SmartFlash Tool to install the latest official ICS for Spain... and there started my nightmare. Apparently the install went fine, but now every time the phone boots, I get the initial Android Install screen, which I can configure, but if I enter my google account, the phone goes crazy and I keep seeing warnings of processes crashing (even android.core or something like that). If I turn off my phone, and on again, it will get stuck in the LG logo. Then I remove battery, wait a while, turn on... and it boots again, but cannot do much.
I have tried doing hard reset using LG hidden menu, also from the Android settings did a reset, and everything seems to go well, but the 2nd time it boots, it always freezes in LG logo.
I have flashed Froyo, Gingerbread and ICS versions using smartflash tool, but no matter what, even when it seems to go ok, the version that always boots is ICS (after the software is upgraded, there is a reset of the phone, and LG logo again).
I have even tried recovery using the official LG mobile support tool.
Last thing I tried I read somewhere: I boot pressing Vol - and G button... and I only see a robot lying on the ground (scary!) with a warninig sign, can't get past it.
My guess is that something is corrupt, but I don't know how to do a full wipe without being able to go to recovery.
Can you suggest anything else to try? I'm really lost here and wouldn't want to be forced to buy a new phone yet!
Thanks so much in advance
If you have cwm backup of your 2.2 or 2.3 then you can try one more thing....install cwm patched 2.3 with sft and when it completes flash it will take you to cwm ...now directly restore your old cwm backup

If it still is zeus, simply keep pressing g key during boot and you should be able to get into recovery. Or is it always ics, that boots?
Sent from my LG-P970 using xda app-developers app
Yes, it's ICS (Spain version) that boots. I had it flashed after Zeus, and now no matter which ROM I flash, I have that ICS version (the flashing always goes fine, but when the phone reboots it hangs at LG logo)
Still trying to find a way to revive my little OB...
Thanks everyone for your suggestions!

It happens when you flash ICS....for me when I went back to 2.2 or 2.3 it failed to detect my internal memory....but as I always do a android backup. ...I flashed patched 2.3 and did a restore of my backup and my phone was all working again...that is why I suggested to use a backup if you have.

Not even this method worked? This is usually my "safety procedure", I always keep a v20s patched with CWM on my PC, to flash with SFT when something goes wrong. Then, when it ends, the phone reboots in recovery...
