I'd like to change the text input cursor width which is too small for me (only one pixel).
Is there any registry key to modify this setting ?
If not, how can it be done ?
This question may have already been answered but I don't find anything in the forum.
Thanks.
Nobody knows or it's impossible ?
The reg key should be in HKCU\ControlPanel\SIP, I tried adjusting "SuggWeight" from 0 up to 20, but no affect after soft reset.
You can try playing with some of the other keys, but make sure ypou back up your SIP registry first in case you screw something up.
I've tried several keys but no success.
Does anybody knows ?
Try these:
HKLM\\System\GWE\CursorFrameCount
HKLM\\System\GWE\CursorFrameInterval

I have modified the registry and added "EnableIndicator" with DWORD 1 and still cannot get this to work
I am using an o2 XDA mini s.
Any thoughts please
do you have CapNotify.lnk in your \Windows\StartUp\ folder ?
It should point to:
32#"\Windows\CapNotify.exe"
If you don't have that link / file there, then modifying the registry won't help
Lastly, are you checking while working with the hardware keyboard, or when using the on-screen keyboard? If you're enabling caps lock with the on-screen keyboard, the indicator won't show up... the on-screen keyboard will readily show caps lock is on, of course.
EnableIndicator doesn't work for me either
I have CapNotify.lnk in \Windows\Startup... it points to \Windows\CapNotify.exe
I created EnableIndicator in the registry with a DWORD value of 1
When I use the hardware keyboard, I get no indicator about caps/symbol status.
Any help?

Just out of the blue, did you soft reset after making your registry changes? Reg changes to a Wizard don't happen immediately, but are forced when you soft reset. Just hold the power button until a warning dialog box pops up, click yes to confirm shutdown, then click the power button again after its off to restart....Might help...
Caps Lock Indicator sometines having opposite effect?
I noticed sometimes that the "C" caps lock indicator sometimes seemed to be on when it should be off, and vice versa - thought it was probably like when a PC keyboard gets off in its indicators, and I'd do a soft reset and then it worked normally - but THEN I found this on a MoDaCo forum post (at http://www.modaco.com/Tip-See-Wizardand39s-Keyboard-Mode-t236896.html) and it all became clear to me:
"Hmmm.... maybe I'm doing something stupid, but it doesn't seem to be working properly for me.
I used BreakSoft's MobileRegistryEditor to edit the registry on my O2 XDA Mini S (with the O2 customisation removed as described at http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=...dpost&p=707087) <http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=235057&view=findpost&p=707087)>.
Now I'm getting the C and dot symbols... but the "C" appears when I'm typing LOWER case. That's not right, is it? :?:
Yes, I was doing something stupid. Why is it you always realise this immediately after posting...
Anyway, seems I had caps-lock turned on in the on-screen keyboard and this was reversing the effect of caps-lock on the physical keyboard..."[endquote]
So NOW, I know that if the "C" is behaving opposite of expected, it is because I left the onscreen soft keyboard in Capitals mode!!

Hi everyone,
I was wondering... is it possible to change the hardware buttons permanently? I mean, if I do a soft reset, the button are mapped back to their original settings. Do I have to modify the registry and how?
I would prefer a solution that does not require software if possible.
Thx !!
hahahaha, it's all software. Even the OS!
Maybe I wasn't clear...
I mean "I prefer a solution that does not require additional software". Is there a setting in the OS (maybe a registry hack) to change the buttons mapping?
hi atzakas,
after softreset buttons should not be mapped back, they should be as you mapped them in Settings.
They are mapped back if you do hard-reset, but that is understandible, you can't hack it.
you can also check this app with 40 additional commands for hardware buttons:
http://handster.com/product.php?id=6
there you can map to buttons things like: switch programs (Alt-Tab), backlight loop, new task, new appointment, etc
Regards,
Victor
Thanks for the reply, but I wouldn't have asked if it was so simple.
I change the button settings, then do a soft reset and the settings are back to the original settings.
I guess I'll have to live with that
i experienced the same problem with an O2 XDA IIi, however, this is cured misteriously recently
Guys,
There's something bugging me.
Is it somehow possible to define the keyboard sensitivity, mainly the delay before a key is repeated?
I keep having keys typed several time when using the keyboard and it's bloody irritating...
Help greatly appreciated
Matt
Yes, it is possible. Under settings go into "Buttons" and than to the "Up/Down Control tab. If I'm not mistaken the Delay and repeat rate you define there is goes not just for the up/down buttons but for the whole hardware keyboard as well. HTH.
There is a reg edit. HKCU/Control Panel/Kebd/InitialDelay.
I set mine to 300. Found this today on another thread...
thanks a lot
i'll try that
Hi
I've downloaded the most recent Fitaly but I cant get simple word completion working.
The phone keypad and compact qwerty do give me normal word completion.
The others such as full querty, keyboard and fitaly don't.
I have tried all the settings available but so far no joy.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me
Thanks, Dean
A quick bump so this doesn't disappear into the forum depths.
I'd really like to solve this as I need word completion.
Any help much appreciated
Thanks,Dean
Touch Diamond Text Word Completion Registry Change
IMPORTANT: previously be sure that HKLM\Software\Tegic\eT9\XT9SupportMSSip has a value of 0.
Simply change these two registry keys under:
HKLM\system\currentcontrolset\control\layouts\e 0010409
Ime File : \windows\xt9ime.dll change to Ime File :\windows\compime.dll

Hey thanks for the reply. I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to registry changes. What would be best to use for this - total commander or memmaid ( I have both)?
Is there anything to watch out for or is it pretty much follow your nose?
Thanks, Dean
Thanks a heap Manny - you're a fricken genius. Changed the value as you suggested and hey presto, I'm in action again
Once again xda proves to be an invaluable resource - many thanks.
Cheers, Dean
I have Fitaly 5.0 installed in my HTC Diamond. I can use it to enter lower case letter without any problem. However, it just can't enter the capital letter that I press, no matter I press the CAP key to show the upper case keyboard first or when choosing a sentence with some upper case letter in it from the popup menu.
All the upper case letter are displayed as a lower case letter.
For example when I enter “aBC”, it will display “abc” on the screen.
I have tried searching for a long time on this because I know I've seen it before, but I can't find it anywhere.
Where is the mapping of the right soft key in the registry? I'm using itje's Touch-IT v3.01 and can't find it anywhere. I don't want the right soft key to be the "Today" screen, but any changes in settings do not "stick."
Hi
Use Advanced_Configuration_Tool_v3.3
Remap softkeys
Dinesh
ADC doesn't change the TF3d right key very well..
It's better to change the registry keys.
Use a decent regeditor (I use fdc taskmanager)
go to HLKM/software/htc/manila
the right and left softkeys are there.
You need to put the complete path to whatever file you want to access and enclose it in ""
HtH
Ok, so I got there, but I really don't want to map it to a path. I just want it to function like the left soft key, but on the right. I looked at the values of the LSKpath, but it is blank too.
If I changed the registry value to "<Right Softkey>" like it is called in settings-buttons-left key, would it still work? I'm a rookie with the registry although I am trying.
And I have the fdc task manager now.
try this little app, works perfect
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=452505
Yeah, that tweak app lets me assign something else, but I want the right soft key to be context with what I'm running on the screen.
... but still good work! I love your ROM.
do you mean the right Hardware key then?
Yes. Sorry for any confusion... I am talking about the hardware key.
In that case again there's a reg key that you can change,
but have you tried it in the button settings control app? as I've just tried it and it works here using Itje's rom.
<Right Softkey> is one of the options and it sets it fine. Not tested to see if it sticks after soft reset but it works.
anyway reg key is HKLM/software/Microsoft/Shell/Keys/40C3
using the buttons settings control panel changes
Flags to 14 (decimal)
Default (blank as in nothing there)
