Forgive my noob, but everytime I've flashed a Desire ROM, including a few hrs ago, my messages are saying that the texts I receive from everyone are 4 hours behind. Is this a known issue, and anyone know of a fix?
I've noticed Handcent fixes the issue, but still would like stock Messaging app fixed!
Are you with Rogers by any chance? This is a known issue with their network. There's an app in the market called SmsFixTimes that you can use to correct this.

Hey guys, I'm having a SMS timestamp issue since rooting and installing SenseUI rom and CM rom.
Note, this did -not- happen on the stock n1 rom. I'm currently in China using China Mobile so I haven't been able to test this back in the states (TMobile) yet.
Basically, when I send a message to anyone (android, iphones, etc), their received timestamp of my message is 7-8 minutes in the past. Obviously this is quite the annoyance for threaded messages on smartphones. I can replicate this by sms'ing my own phone and the timestamp of the received message is 8 minutes before I sent it.
I've tried everything I can think of. I've even nandroid restored my original backup and the issue is still happening. I've turned on/off the "get time from network" settings, updated radio and redowngraded, tried 3-4 different roms, but nothing is working.
Anyone seen this before or have any ideas? Frustrating the hell out of me!
anyone have any ideas?
Hi,
this never happened to me before on my Legend.
I'm using handcent sms, but don't know if it has something to do with that, with the OS (used handcent on my Legend too) or my carrier provider.
When I write loads of sms with a friend, it happened already 3 times that suddenly I got a reply from someone completely unknown (unknown number), informing me about that he/she (wrongly) received this sms from me that should have been sent to my friend. My friend then didn't get that sms, although it's correctly listed in the appropriate sms "thread" for my friend's contact and NOT in the new thread created for this unknown number.
Has anyone experienced this before?
I think it's even more strange since this number isn't in my contacts and it's completely unrelated (not just a few numbers swapped, but a completely different carrier).
Has anyone experienced something like that?
This happened to me 2 times on stock Froyo and yesterday on Gingerbread..
Thanks for any help
Max
That's due to a bug with Android itself.
This was fixed with version 2.3.3, so if you get your self a GB(2.3.3) rom, all will be good.
That's strange, I'm already on gingerbread.. still it happened yesterday or the day before.
Handcent is your culprit!
Got myself into a LOT of trouble with the right msg going to the wrong person... LOL
get yourself chomp which is better in this aspect
or use the default app..
Hi Guys, new user long time lurker here.
Getting to the point, my HTC One was doing amazing until I woke up this morning. It is currently running ARHD 3.2, the stock google rom and I've been loving it. I was getting mms last night, woke up in the morning and I couldn't send or receive them. I have tried everything. I wiped it, flashed it again, wiped it, then (the weirder part) restored a backup of ARHD which was the tweaked Sense rom, I believe it was 12, and I still had the same problem. i've removed APN, added them, changed them, and still nothing. Any ideas? I've also changed my messaging apps, moved to Textra, and still nothing. Logically it seems as though something has been removed or edited in my phone that causes the block, but even a restore which was from 32 days ago still cannot send mms. I'm stumped. Also I have made sure my data was on and all that stuff.
Thanks guys, I appreciate anything you can help me with.
Someone posted what sounds like the exact same thing in the Android forums but this site won't let me paste the link. Carrier is AT&T and they were stumped.

Call your service provider and ask them about it. Or test another phone that's on the same tower, if capable.

I guess ill try my parents phone. If nothing changes I'll call the provider tomorrow.
EDIT: it seems to be a tower issue since my mothers phone can't send MMS either. It's strange because it had the same problem at work, but that was only ten miles away. But in a city area. Quite frustrating.
This is the thread. Sounds similar no?

Sounds similar. I have absolutely no other issues it's just mms. internet is fine, everything is a ok.
Exact same problem with my unlocked htc one since last night. Was in multiple group chats and all of a sudden I couldn't send or receive any mms messages to or from the groups. Problem is persisting this morning. I'm in the NYC area and wondering if there are network issues. Where are you located?

Lower bergen county, near Newark Nj. seems to be trend happening here!
I've been on the phone with support for awhile now, nothing has changed on my phone, they said they reset my network when I turned it off like twice, now I can receive them but not send them.
Late update, but this happened to both my phone (Trickdroid 9) and my girl's (stock, unrooted) that night. Working now, but it was annoying as all hell.
New issue. I can now send and receive pictures! awesome! Bad news: while I am connected to wifi, I do not have anything other than minimum service, so I can only text and call! I understand that the wifi is being used, but I can't send or receive mms for example if i'm on a wifi network. is it as simple as fixing an APN? or changing it? Anything possible? Searching only gets me people who want to turn of LTE with wifi so I'm stumped!
I've had my Moto X for a week and love it, for once I don't immediately want to flash Cyanogenmod haha. However, as this week has passed, I've had difficulties receiving text messages. I'll send a text, but not get a reply until I send another text asking if they got mine, at which point I'll get their earlier reply late. At first I thought it was related to Wi-Fi, but even on 4G the issue persists. I use 8sms along with the stock messaging app and haven't done anything with apns outside resetting them (which did nothing) in an attempt to alleviate the issue. Has anyone else had this issue, and more importantly, a solution?
Thanks

I am not receiving SMS messages at times. A lot of the times when I don't receive SMS is at night for some reason but happens in the afternoon too just not as often. I use to run CM 12.1 I thought that might have been the problem so I flashed 6.0 and the problem persist. I change APN, messaging app, another factory reset, not use WIFI, change sim card, turn off enhanced LTE and still nothing.... anyone know how to fix the problem? Oh yeah, I'm on tmobile network
I have the same issue but I dont think so it is nexus. At least from my point of view. The problem is missing, delayed, broken/mixed messages from iphone users. I contact ot tmobile regarding this issue. They check everything is they couldn't find if there is any issue. I want to tell you that this is a 2nd nexus 6 i have. Problem seems to exist from iphone users. My friend when she text other people some of them aren't receiving some of her messages and she has Iphone 6s plus. She is the only one i have issue to receive messages or messages are delayed and mixed.
I don't seem to have a problem with iPhone users mostly android users especially note 4 users

I tried it. Even I tried textra and still using which didn't resolve the issue. I have problem to receive delayed/broken messages only from one person and that person has iphone 6 and it is on tmobile network. It is getting worse for her when she turn on imessage function.
