I just rooted my phone and was messing around with it and installed a theme. how do i remove it??
Did you make a nandroid backup? If not, let this be your first lesson. You should be able to find the stock theme by searching for that or stock rosie.

My son flashed a theme into my phone after installing the latest Taz rom. I want to go back to my old theme that I installed using metamorph. Can I just install metamorph now and install my theme, or will it mess up my phone since it has a flashed theme on it? Thanks for any help!

It should be fine because the image files are only changed. So go for it.
Hello fellow xda members. I had a problem the other day. I installed sgs tools and tried downloading a different launcher. It loaded the launcher fine but I wasn't satisfied. I tried restoring it but it gives the error "folder not found." I was wondering if anybody knows how to reinstall the built in default tw launcher and if I can possibly restore the layout.

I'm sure you could find the apk with a search.
Are you running a custom rom?
No, I'm runnin default android 2.2 froyo. Rooted, but nand backup doesn't work either. A few months ago, I tried backing up with rom manager, but after rebooting, their still wasn't any backups availible to restore. When I boot into system recovery, it doesn't even open cyogenmod reovery.

CM revovery? Stock 2.2? I'm confused.
I tried. Google doesn't show any, only custom launchers and I don't want that.

Bump...
Did you manually check the sgs tools folder for the backup of your stock launcher?
I've been using the gingerbread launcher from the market and I really like it. Just putting it out there to think about it.
Sorry I meant clockwork recovery mod. THAT didn't work or I wouldn't be asking for a way to reinstall default tw launcher. Thanks for all the current ideas

If you still need it, I attached it for you. Just drop it in the system/app folder. Good luck.
Never mind.someone else got it.

The one from the market is super easy. And if you accidentally delete it, it's there to reinstall
This is the one from my phone. Dont know if it is what you are looking for as i am currently running Continuum, but good luck.
I think you might need the .odex file as well since I recall seeing that you are running stock 2.2. Did you delete that file?
I'm not sure. How do I check?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
You can use Root explorer or a similar app and navigate to system/app. See if there are .odex files for the corresponding apk's. If the one for the launcher is missing than that would cause the issue. What happens when you try to run the launcher? does it just force close?
edit: I was able to find the apk and .odex file from a stock 2.2 build. Just drop it in hopefully this works. Just unzip and extract the files manually.
I can't find it. All there is is the .odex for the tw launcher wallpaper

^ I was editing my post while you posted, in case you missed it, I added the files you need.
Let's say I metamorphed some icons. If I flash a new Rom, that has custom icons built in it, will it overwrite the previous changes I made? Or will it stay the same. am I supposed to do a backup too when I didn't have the custom icons then flash the new Rom? My questions go for roms too I guess then. Let's say I flash the ICB Rom but then I want to switch to the monster Rom. Do I have to backup/restore then flash the new one? Or just flash no problem and have it overwrite the previous one. Sorry guys there's a lot of questions but it all serves the same purpose. Thanks for your help!

I didn't know MetaMorph worked on the D3. What icons were you flashing? I want to change some in framework-res, the Contacts app, and the browser.
-Mike
Well I downloaded some off of droidpirate. Not all of them worked but some did. Like for example. I got a purple USB connection icon. A red battery indicator ex. But for now I just Metamorphed for some gingerbread icons and statusbar( the green glow one). I'm also stock deadened. But do u know the answer to my question? Lol

Whatever you flash *will* replace any/all images.
You also do not *need* a backup, but its always good to have a current backup just in case.
Also, after you flash a rom, you can always metamorph a theme back over it.

Is there a way?

Hmm, good question. Correct me if i'm wrong, but i don't think it's possible.
Edit: What might work is that you copy the TouchWiz launcher APK. If you're rooted then just go to system/app, find the APK and copy it.
I THINK this will do it.

Use Titanium Backup and System data/app (whatever it called again) backup - scroll down to Twlauncher to backup it settings. This should do it.
I usually do it with mine old Desire to backup the HTC Sense launcher settings, email/gmail settings etc and should be the same with TouchWiz.
But u can only restore, if using same ROM and cant restore the settings on another custom ROM.

Can u be more specific?? like if you want backup all apps use titanium backup, or if you want to store all stuff like s memo, wallpapers, messages etc use Kies.
I have this question as well. Specifically, is there a way to back up the folders in the app drawer as well as the arrangement of icons and Widgets on the home screen?

Hey peeps,
I would like to know if the lockscreen can be themed.
It's lookin really nasty on a higher display resolution.
I want to try it myself but should I even start? Because I can't install it through cmw recovery. This official Rom doesn't allow cmw. And does anyone know which file I should change. Never done anything with theming before. I already got the images from the framework file.
Added a screenshot to make my story/question more clear.

You can still install it by pushing it via adb, or copying the file using a root file explorer. But be careful, cause if you brick your device, you ll have to completely reinstall the ROM, or at least, reflash, reroot and reinstall the rest with Titanium
