HTC HD2 with broken screen - HD2 Accessories

Hello,
What a surprise, my HD2 screen broke himself. It was on the table then "schlink" .... and during 10 minutes, several cracks appeared to finally this look like the attached picture
Anyway, I'm looking to fix the broken part but i'm not sure to buy the right one and to follow the good tuto for fixing it.
60$ on Ebay :ORIGINAL-HTC-HD2-T8585-TOUCH-SCREEN-DIGITIZER-LENS-
or
90$ on Ebay : HTC-HD2-HD-2-II-Leo-LCD-Digitizer-Touch-Screen-Tool
I didn't found a good tuto for the moment.
If you have any advice or lead to help me, please, you're welcome

Leo LCD + Digitizer change not very easy

Great Thank you,
For the moment, I called HTC and they said there is "No Warranty" for a broken screen.
I called my phone operator and same answer, no warranty without mobile insurance.
I called my bank insurance and they are agree to handle the repair cost or the replacement if too many damages. With no excess !
Only the glass is broken, the touch screen is still responding and "working"

HELP My TyTN II LCD Screen cracked

how can i replace it...nd..how much will it cost to repait. Please Help, i live in Brookyn NY, USA
The screen on my MDA cracked (which is the main reason I upgraded to a Kaiser) but I found a replacement screen on ebay for cheap, like $10 bucks shipped from Hong Kong with the tools required to dissasemble the phone.
Now, what's cracked though, the actual LCD or the Touchscreen? If the screen still displays fine underneath the crack, you need to search for a digitizer.
If the LCD is cracked underneath an otherwise undamaged screen and no longer displays an image correctly then you need to search for a replacement LCD.
And if the crack affects both you of course need both pieces.
I just looked and only saw one person offering a combo of LCD and Digitizer for over $100 bucks. I have a feeling the TyTN II/Kaiser probably uses the same digitizer as other HTC models, so you just have to find out which ones and then order those.
This is who I ordered from if you want to contact them and see if they have what you need.

thank you..for yer help..no..only the screen underneath is cracked cuz everything is fine except the image doesnnt show..at all....but some black type of thngz
wow another one, welcome to the club of mortified Kaiser owners that had to go through this. you should hit up njbridges (a member on this forum) he sells them just send him your e-mail addy. also try a search on this forum there should be a thread or two with this situation (me being included) your main two options are to ship it to htc for them to repair (which is costly) or do the repair yourself (depends on how comfortable u feel with such an operation) unless there is someone in brooklyn that might be able to help.
Who did u buy it from? egadgetdepot is in BK so u can google them up and ask them if they have anyone that sells the screen.

Broken LCD in UK

HI there.
I have searched through the forum looking at all the various solutions to fixing a broken LCD screen on the TyTn II. I unfortunately broke mine today however its just the LCD thats broken not the screen.
I was wondering if anyone knew of a reliable place to get the phone fixed in the UK or order replacement parts and Ill do it myself?
Is there a guide on how to do it yourself?
Finally, I had an HTC Vox before my TyTn II and its LCD broke as well...it makes me wonder of the integrety of the phone itself!
Thanks for any help in advanced!!

Try www.htclcd.com
all I can say is avoid gps midlands as this guy is a real waste of time and watch out for apex laptops as they tend to charge A LOT.
the best solution for You is insurance, mate... (unless You are confident enough to buy/replace screen Yourself)
think about it. if in doubts, pm for solution.

I have found a service on eBay that looks quite good but need a recommendation. Not sure which one I need:
Replacement LCD Screen:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=160228301787&Category=317&_trksid=p3907.m29
Replacement Touch Screen:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160228303474
My phone, when I turn it on is mainly white with black lines near where I broke it. The glass screen itself is neither cracked or damaged. Do I need a new LCD or Touch Screen?
Thanks again.
consider PROPORTA
For £10, they send you a package to put your device in - give you a quote for the repairs and you don't have to go ahead with it.
Worth it just for the quote, IMHO.

Replacement screen?

Hey there.
I got "faulty" Diamond from a shop. It has one minor issue with screen. They told me that glass broke on the screen and now the screen has two small scratches.
So, where can I buy replacement display/screen for my Diamond and is it easy to change? I asked from a local repair and they told it would cost something like 250€/300$. I tought it's a little bit high prize so I was thinking if you guys could help me out.
on ebay there are diamond screens for sale
Not a very bad price also..

Thanks alot. That is really a decent prize.
Has anyone of you guys changed HTC Diamond screen? Is it a big operation?
Never done it to a diamond.
If I look @ the service manual I hate to say: yes, you'd have to take some time, there are a lot of steps.
But it's doable, just take your time, read the service manual first to know what to expect.
Then carefully take all the steps in the manual to disassemble the device.
replace the screen, and re-assemble according to the service manual.
I wish you good luck!
BTW You could also buy an extra digitiser (touchpad) for if the touchscreen is damaged.
maybe this will help you http://cnn.cn/shop/touch-diamond-digitizer-p-2128.html
Hi be very carefull with the screen , i just changed my lcd at a HTC service center, the screen is composed by 3 parts the digitizer (touch screen), lcd display, and the front cover ( the metal that you see around the screen), all this parts are changed in one piece, you cannot change only the touch screen or the lcd because, it can be done without damaging the lcd. Dont buy from ebay only the touch screen because you wil and up breaking your phone.
Ps the screen ( front cover, touch screen, lcd display) cost me 110 euro.
Here are some pictures of my old screen.
Thank you all, for your replies. I've ordered the parts and should get those by the start of next week. I think I'll manage to do it, didn't seem to be that hard.
Thanks again.

Thanks for your reply.
I allready have found many cheep offers for a digitizer.
But my question is whether it's possible to change only the digitizer and not the hole part consists of digitizer and lcd screen...???

[Q] Cracked my screen :(

Long time lurker, first time poster.
Today my phone leaped out of my hand and shattered its screen on impact with the ground.
I rang a local phone repair man, and he said he could replace the glass for £50. Great!
When I got home I did a quick search and found a few places where it said that this is not possible, something to do with the glass being stuck to the LCD underneath. Apparently you need to replace both the screen and the glass together.
Does anybody had any experience with this? Am I going to be stuck with a hefty repair bill?
Thanks
The glass is with the digitizer wich are very hard to be separated, even impossible. But if he has some spare part from another SXL he can give you a lower price i guess. I don't think that the price is to low. Here it costs about 120 eur. So you can ask him if its a new or used one. Just to be clear. And don't forget to take your battery with you when you leave the phone. Because there is 99% chance that they swap your battery
XL imposible to change digitizer only

On HTC XL it is imposible to change digitizer only .I just experience myself and ruined semi usable phone with cracked but fully working glass. Touch digitizer screen and lcd are (unlike some other models) GLUED together.!.
So sellers who sell digitizer only for 30$ are essentialy fakers, not telling you that it is imposible to change Digitizer only. But for 30$ many try and both throw that money and render phone totaly unusable. So they must buy whole LCD +TOUCH assembly that is much expensive. now about 150$ .
TIP: If you have cracked SXL - use it that way if you can (like me 30day with almost no problems) or buy whole assembly. No middle here

broken screen replacement help ?

hey guys
so last week something unbelievable happened to me and i say unbelievable because no one will believe what happened but thats it what can i do about it xD OK so last week my G Watch fell from my hand while wearing it and it fell off on my Xperia Z from about 20 centimeters and i didn't care that exact moment because i said like WTF it wont harm the device and after 2 minutes i opened my phone aaand its just not working the screen was broken from the area on the left of the microphone and the phone wont work but from a special small area anyways i went to my local Sony agent and he told me that the digitizer cant be replaced alone and that they will be replacing the whole LCD Display so i went to some other 3rd party repair-shops and they said the same thing and they will be replacing it with a non-original Display that cost 1/5 the price of the one that the Sony Agent offered me ( Sony Agent told me that it costs 170 Jordanian Dinars which equals 240 USD and the phone itself new unlocked costs pretty much less than that in my country ( Jordan ) )
Anyways i was wondering guys if i can replace the digitizer alone by myself (by ordering it from eBay or so and disassembling the phone and replacing it at home ) or should i replace the whole LCD Display ?
(Sorry if i had any English mistakes but i"m not a native English tongue )
Best Regards,,,
I had broken touch screen and i watched video on YouTube how to repair just touch screen, ordered just touch screen from Ali and I broke the digitalizer so i ordered whole screen with mask after. My point is, if you don't have tools and skills (or is you first time) buy whole (touch screen + digitalizer) and replace them.
Good Luck!

thanks bro :good:
Digitizer and touch screen are glued together making it impossible to remove the touch screen without breaking the digitizer that is made of thin glass.
I replaced the combo on my first Z after my car key fell off from above 15cm or so onto the screen, same story as yours! (X_X)
But:
1/ Besides the combo touch + digitizer piece you also have to buy the sticker as the actual glue around the frame will get destroyed while removing the screen.
2/ If your phone is old, you might want to buy an original battery to replace your existing battery.
3/ While reassembling the battery in the phone make sure it does not stick out from the plane surface otherwise it will push on the glue and reopen your phone. Mine had a piece of plastic on its side with harpoon like features; it looked like it had been forced into place with harpoons retaining it: crappy design, to my opinion.
Some 3M strong and thin double side tape might also be useful to keep the battery into place especially if you keep the original one which might unfortunately get a little bent while un-glueing it from the case...
In any case, you should consider its waterproof feature gone!
Good luck!

Just dont go for non orignal diplay you will regret it, most probably they will order a whole new CHEAP QUALITY front panel from ebay which will have poor quality of screen and all the ports. Also the power button will become a bit hard to press.
I did the same mistake and gave my phone to a local phone repair shop which was cheap but my phone went dead the very next day after it came back from repair. I agree Sony Service Centre will charge more but your phone will be in best possible condition.
My suggestion go to Sony people for repair.....
Hope it helps you
Thank you guys very much i really appreciate your help and i think i'm going to the Sony agent because i dont have that much of experience to disassemble the phone and i might get it even worst instead of fixing it :\
again thank you really much guys
Just pay attention to pay a fake screen no original one there's a few different things between the original one
