HTC Mteor GPRS Settings?

I have just got the HTC Mteor but I can't get it to work with GPRS on orange PAYG or Contract. I saw some files on this forum but it won't let me run them on the phone. Can anyone help me set it up please?
sorry to havent answerd your question in other thread...
when this from my post don't works:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1244877&postcount=8
just google for the correct settings from your provider!!
or just call them that they say you the settings!!
also my provider has a map on his webpage where i can check what coverage is available in my location!!
also when you see the 3g symbol in top bar you are in a 3g location!
maybe you must have a special contract with your provider to start connections in 3g area?!
just try to set bandwidch to GSM (means only GPRS/EDGE) and test the connection!!
if this works your provider maybe have lock if you haven't a special "3g Contract"
I tried to contact Orange but they didn't have this phone on their list and then they gave me some settings that didn't work?
I don't think this phone works on 3G actually. I know it has GPRS covergae because there is always a letter "G" on the top of the screen. If anyone else has this phone on Orange then can you let me know what setting you are using please.
when your provider supports 3g then your phone have no problems!!!
UMTS is supported by mteor from factory out!!
HSDPA Supports is added with actuell Shipped ROM !!!
when you only have the G icon it means you have only configured (in bandwitch selection gsm) or your network coverage has only GPRS available!!
just check the settings under settings/phone/bandwitch(?!)
there are 2 lines first band: 1. AUto 2. GSM 3. WCDMA (=3g, hsdpa)
2nd is the region... should normaly be on auto...
I just checked the setting that you mentioned and it was set to auto on both options. I tried setting to the 3G and it said that it was not possible to connect when I typed in an internet address on internet explorer.
maybe you have not 3g coverage at your location!! or your contract didn allow 3g connection!! ask your provider!!
when configuring the data connection look to the modem options there you can select different modems .. just try gprs only

PLS help , i want the NAG screen "select network" to dissapear!

Hello,
I have a GRRRRR problem.
I have a belgium simcard, provider (mobistar) , but i travel a lot to the Netherlands.
But i dont want to roam , so in other words , if there is no Mobistar avaible , i just want the kaiser to look until Mobistar is avaible if i am back in Belgium.
So in phone settings i select manual network instead of automatic.
This worked perfect on my previous PDA with Mio A701 with WM5.
Now, if i am in another country there is a stupid POPUP , that you can select an avaible other network , i click it away , but then 5 min later its back , the whloe ****ing day!!...
Is there anyway to disable that popup? Running Dutty Rom 7 now , but it was also on htc branded rom.
Also tried disablïng "enable automatic setup" in connection setup, didnt help either.
THNX a lot!!!!!
Start-Settings-Connections-Connections setup-Menu-Uncheck Enable Auto Configuration
I alreadu did that, did you have the same problem as me?
Was it solved by that option?
Anyone know of a solution for this yet? Disabling Auto Configuration didn't work for me either.
I am limited to one network (no roaming in the UK) and have fairly bad reception at home so I have my network selection set to Manual. That way when there is no reception the phone doesn't spend ages searching for a different network before realising that there aren't any. This works well except I get the above mentioned "Select Network" popup coming up every few minutes asking me to choose from one of the other (un)available UK networks.

Disable Telfort Roaming Icon.

To all the Dutch Telfort / Diamond users: I have a roaming Icon on my screen permanently. I would like to get rid of it but so far I could not find out how. I have one last idea what might cause the roaming icon to apprear but for that to be confirmed I need your input.
So please be kind and let me know the following:
1: Do you have a SIM card that is from before the Telfort-KPN migration? Or after?
2: Do you see a little triangle in the top bar on your screen? (this is the Roaming Icon)
I appreciate your help. I will let you know if my idea was correct if enough data on sims and triangles gets in.
Thanks,
Chris
1: I have a SIM card long time before the Telfort-KPN migration?
2: And also have the Roaming Icon all the time!
Thanks!!!
Any Telfort users from the Post KPN migration era???
Chris
Come on, there must be more Dutch Telfort people here???
I have a Telfort SIM card from Oct '09 (after the KPN-Telfort migration I believe). Unfortunately I'm also stuck with the roaming triangle icon on my kaiser... would love to get rid of it! Any solutions?
I have a sim from sept 2006.
Always have the roaming symbol.
Did notice that i am roaming since i have the Touch diamond.
I am not able to auto sync my mail because of this! Very anoying!
If you hate the icon so much you can hide it by edit/create
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL "DisableRoamingIndicator" to 1

Thanks for your kind answer, had no such value in registry, created it, but no luck.
Same problem here....
1: I have a SIM card long, long time before the Telfort-KPN migration
2: And also have the Roaming Icon all the time!
I have done some extensive research on this topic. It turns out that CDMA phones can get rid of their Roaming Icon by tweaking the registry. That is because the phone contains a list of "freindly networks" and roaming is controled in the phone itself.
GSM phones do not have this database. Their roaming is controled by the provider. Therefore the registry tweak does not work. It is for the CDMA phone.
I have also contacted an unoficial "telfort forum" where a Telfort developer told me that Telfort can not fix this problem on their side. Old SIM or new SIM does not make any difference unfortunately.
The only chance that is left is if someone can find in the registry or somewhere in the phone software the exact place where the phone decides if it is roaming or not and change that in some way to make it think it is not roaming.
Too bad, I hate the stupid Roaming triangle.
Chris thanks 4 the effort! indeed very annoying the Roaming all the time..keep us posted if you find some solutions!
Thanks for this clear explanation Chris, i just started to hate this yellow thingy when i stumbled across this taskbar which makes the icon much nicer and less 'present'
BTW i'm using the Gen.Y D2 R2-Rev.Z NLD ROM on my Diamond which is based on WM 6.1
Credits for the taskbar go of course to Tsowen
To Nirak...
I don't think it solves the issue with the roaming icon. It only makes the icon looks nicer and less present..but I don't like it for example that when i want to send/receive mail i'm given a notification that i'm roaming and if i wish to continue..
Enable email during roaming.
For those of you having problems with email:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings
ShowRoamWarning REG_DWORD 0
And within the ActiveSync Settings:
ActiveSync -> Menu -> Schedule -> Enable "Use above settings when roaming"
Works perfectly on my Benq e72, TP1 and now Omnia Qwerty. (Direct push mail send throu a MS Exchange 2003 SP2 box.)
Thanks a lot SMILEX!..
this string didn't exist, but I created it and it works perfect!!
All those solutions help, but the real solution is still not found I guess. Hope the "list" which triggers the icon will be found one day.... Because it's still quite annoying.
Hey all:
I just switched from Ben to Telfort. I don't get the roaming icon, but I do get an annoying warning every time I start a data-intensive app on my HD2. Telfort says there's nothing that can be done, but Ben is able to use T-Mobile's network without all the roaming warnings. Why can't Telfort use KPN's network without these warnings? It's obviously possible.
I have the same problem with Telfort but on HTC Touch HD
I don't want to get rid only from icon, but also from that my phone think that it is roaming, but it is national roaming, which should be handled the same as home network.

[Q] Only 3g after flashing Darky's 9.3

I do not get H symbol(whatever it is ). I only see 3G. WHen I serachg for networks it does bring back H for a few seconds on full network but them immediately switches back to 3G.
Can anyone help please ?
you can chek the instellingen from your provider and you can put these manual for optimal use
Sorry... but I dont really know what instellingen is. Can you please point me to a guide or something ?
I think he means apn settings, might have been a translation issue. First, make a nandroid backup. Then change your csc. Then run the restore. Finally, change the apn settings to your provider settings, then, still on wireless and network, switch to wcdma only and go to network providers. Pick the one that's there and then switch back to gsm and wcdma.
Hit the thanks button if that does it for you.

No data on 3G/E connections UK

Hi,
I've jumped ship from an iPhone to HTC One. I am very impressed with the phone and although there may some tiny imperfections such as raised glass in one corner and slight gaps I am very happy. Mine is an FA33TW.
Anyway, my problem is with data connectivity here in the UK. I am with Vodafone and with an "H" connected I get great speeds but if it is ever on anything other than "H" (G, 3G, E) I get no data at all. With four full bars on 3G pages fail to load and I cannot check my e-mail. This happens in my house, outdoors, anywhere. I've looked on the internet and some say it's a Vodafone thing but I thought I'd check here to see if anyone is experiencing similar problems.
Cheers.

Prob a problem with the APN settings that Vodafone send down. Got to Settings > Mobile Internet > Access Point Names push the 3 dot menu and Reset to factory defaults. This is pull down the latest apn settings from Vodafone and hopefully fix your problem.
Not that

HI,
Thanks for the suggestion but that doesn't make any difference. I think it may be a problem with Vodafone's network as I found quite a few reports of an identical problem from other Vodafone UK users on the internet.
Any Vodafone UK users out there who can or cannot use 3G/E?
Cheers.

It's unlikely to be the Vodafone network otherwise it would affect all different types of phone as well. My Dad has a One X on Vodafone and has no problems on G/3G/H.
I still think it's a problem with the APN settings so I would suggest deleting the existing ones and then entering them back in manually (Use Google to find all the details.)

It's an odd one indeed. If I change the APN settings to anything other than the ones that Vodafone send me by text then I get no connection at all including H.
Right now I am watching (in the 4636 test page) the network type change from HSDPA to UMTS and back every 30 seconds or so. During this time I can't open an internet page at all. The notification bar shows 3G when UMTS and H when HDSPA. Neither let me open a page which is odd as I usually get a page with H. I have 5 full bars of signal strength all the time at the desk here.
What I have noticed in this test page is that when things stop working and my internet goes off is that another setting on the test page changes. In the location line there is LAC which usually has a number. Right now it says "ee" which I think means it cannot identify which node it is connected to which is odd as I still have 5 bars.
I think this may suggest the problem is to do with Vodafone's network in my area but if anyone can shed any light on this?

Well I'm stumped. Have you tried a factory reset?

Got a new SIM from shop yesterday and have done all manner of resets to no avail.
I called Vodafone again just now and this time they claim they are doing work on one or two of the masts in the area. Had this problem for days now and last 2 times I phoned they said there was nothing going on.
So I think the LAC reading "ee" is because of a local mast/network issue and there's not much I can do but take their word and wait a few days.
Thanks for all the input!
