Should I trade my HTC Pure with an iPhone?

I recently put my HTC Pure on craiglist for trade with iPhone. I got response from one girl who wants to trade her iphone 3G 8GB (she said she bought it 3 months back) with my HTC Pure.
I have less than a day to make this decision. And now I am so confused... Should I do this trade? Is it a fair deal?
A few more questions (may be this is not the right place to ask these questions but if anyone has any idea then please let me know.)
1. Is there a forum as good as xda-developers.com for iPhone? If yes then what is it?
2. Can I use my current ATT Phone Simcard into iPhone without buying the costly dataplan?
3. How will I make sure that the iPhone is not stolen one?
4. I have heard about "iPhone Clones". How to make out the difference between iPhone and "iPhone Clone"
No way!!!
I wouldn´t do it

Any Specific reason m8? I know I love my Pure and I am a big WM! I am doing this deal because I already have one more WM phone (ATT Tilt Kaiser) and now I want to see why does everyone talk about iPhone a lot.
There has to be something... Dont you think?
do it ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
is she local? if so, meet at a AT&T store and do the deal there....compare her iphone with the one in the store and find out if hers is a clone or not.
3G has a slow processor, and No real multi tasking. it's going be a downgrade for you, that's what i think. Lol. don't get sucked in with the candy clothed games
Do you know how slow the processor is?
I mean do you have an idea about the specifications of iPhone 3G processor vs. HTC Tilt?
I got both the 3G and the Pure, so I can comment on this
HTC is a work phone. Its designed to get stuff done. Office Mobile, multitasking, not to mention the inherent flexibility of WM. As a Pure owner, I'm sure you're aware of all of this.
All of this will be GONE on the iPhone. In its place will be a a great phone to consume media, HUGE selection of applications, a much more responsive touchscreen, and pretty much the best media experience on a phone.
What you gotta decide is which one of those things are more important to you. I couldn't decide on either, so I have been jumping back and forth for the past two months as what I need to get done with my phone changes.
Though, with the recent BS patent lawsuit from Apple, I havent been able to look at my iPhone or MacBook Pro the same way since...
I sold away my iPhone 3G after 3 months of having it. I need compatible Windows phone that will work with my PC so I stick to my Diamond2, TouchPro2 and 838Pro. For truly screen display, I have the Samsung Pixon 12 and OmniaII with AMOLED display which are very good in bright sunlight. For 12MP photo snapshots I have the Sony Ericsson Satio and the Samsung Pixon to do the job if I don't have my DSLR with me. The iPhone doesn't come close to any of these phones that are definite keepers for me. Therefore I sold the iPhone away without any regret. Talking about video calls on iPhone??? Apple have to do something about it.
I agree with demonic_pascal. We have both in my familly and I know what I prefer. Ever tried to to transfer files to/from the iphone? Its a PITA bigtime. I don't agree with comments about the media experience etiher. The Topaz will play far more file formats than the iPhone. If you are looking for a game console then get the iphone. If you want a phone that gets thigns done stick with teh Topaz.
2. Can I use my current ATT Phone Simcard into iPhone without buying the costly dataplan?
I dont think this is possible, cuz once the sim card is put into the phone, it will automatically update your phone to ATT database and you will force buy a data plan. You can try to unlock your iphone, I heard this works, but not so sure though.
4. I have heard about "iPhone Clones". How to make out the difference between iPhone and "iPhone Clone"
There are several post online that show you how to spot a fake iphone. Generally, the cover is not as polish, the Apple logo, the fine print on the back, the screen size.
The iphone is the good phone, it has a fast processor that runs games and app smoothly but I still wouldn't make the trade though. First, the Iphone 3G now is kinda obsolete. Second, she said that you have one day to make the trade, did she give you the good reason? If not, most of the time people just want to scam you so they put the time limit to make you think its a good deal. So just make sure that its real, tell her to post proof and ask her why the rush? Lastly, the ideal of owing an Iphone is just not that intriguing to me.
Never dream of it!
You'll regret it m8.. don't do it!

Lol Already sold my Pure for 300.
Now buying the iPhone in 270 from a local store. Lets see what happens.
I will post my experience. But I am still a XDA coz I have a TILT
Got rid of iphone. But I will say it is a lot better and finger friendly operating system than windows mobile. Bought htc hd 2 thereafter but sold that too eventually... After using iphone I can't use windows mobile lol.
Right now I have google nexus one. Wow... I love this phone more than any thing ever! Android is the best operating system. It is as finger friendly as iphone and you can customize it like windows mobile.

Answer is no even tho you already made the deal. Just buy an iPod Touch and have it as mp3/video player+internet+twitter+facebook+email. I got a TD2 right now together with an iPod and I think it's a nice combination because I waste my battery in less than 6 hours if I start listening to music or watch videos.
I will get a HD2 later on tho but I will only use it for telephone, internet, email, sms, videos and all that stuff. iPod as mp3 player, always.
Iphone has about 400 times more apps and games. the 8 gig is slower but the 32gig and 64 are faster better hardware. if it were my i would trade my pure for the iphone 8gig. I have an ipod 32 gig i compared it next to my buddys 32gig iphone. as for app launching etc.. they were pretty much equal.. but my daughters 8 gig ipod next to my pure the the ipod is faster as in moving around and lauching most apps.
but hey. good luck

Iphone 4 or nexus still

hey guys
have had my nexus since feb now and never looked back till i seen the iphone 4
i know i know
i hate apple 2 but with all there polished apps and 720p rec and well just the smoothness im wondering if i should take the switch
i live in aust and pretty much no1 knows about the nexus or any even android its weird and there not really in Australian apps for train times or football scores that are any good.. and i have seen apples and there awesome
so after seeing the iphone 4 what you guys think
I'll never buy an iPhone or an Apple product, simply because I dislike how they run things and "assume" for the majority of their user base.
I will readily admit the iPhone4 looks good and will have a stunning display and has loads of apps. However I see the iPhone as a common user phone - not that there's anything wrong with that.
I prefer Android because it gives me the flexibility to customise and manipulate almost everything on it, how I want and in the way I want. Apple does not.
And you can't really compare teh hardware between the two - the iPhone4 is a good piece of kit, no doubt. But keep in mind the NexusOne came out long before it. New hardware and kit comes out every month or so - within a few months there will be phones that greatly surpass the iPhone4's hardware.
It comes down to what YOU want from a phone. I'm happy with Android and will stick with it, having used Symbian and Winmo 6.5 previously. I've used an iPhone - and I don't like the "Apple Experience".
Just my opinion..
I like the customisation and freedom of android, but the iphone 4 is very well polished, I just want to see how the screen does in bright daylight as the N1 is ****...
If you have to ask, I think you're in the wrong place.
720p just came in
Stick to the Nexus one and wait for the Nexus two? probably better hardware and android 3.0
^^if there is a nexus two im deffinatly buying it the nexus one has been the best phone ever and iwont swtich to apple. ever.
Or get a Samsung galaxy s
what is so attractive about the new iphone, why are people all the sudden "should i switch?". Why?! Nothing has changed! They have a new screen, thats cool, multitaking, thats old news but ok, WHAT?! There is nothing enticing in the new iPhone versus the older ones
The big question to ask is this:
Do you LIKE being in shackles?
Or do you like to be FREE?
If you like being in shackles, then I have to ask this next question: Why have you not committed a serious crime in a non-death-penalty jurisdiction to land yourself permanently in prison?
Or have you? Do they let you have cellphones in prison now?

Go for the phone that you feel gives the most of your money. We are consumers and I have learned the hard way that no company really cares about you or your support. Companies like MS, Google and Apple are there to make money. Don't feel obliged to stay with a phone or OS because of moral reasons. If one product gives you better value go for it.
For me, N1 was better value than WinMo and I made the switch. A lot of my work is based on google apps (domain one.. no android) so I get more done with android. But if tomorrow, iPhone does it better, Ii will shift.
You will save a lot or be more happy by throwing away any brand loyalty/hatred.
I'm sticking with whatever phone Cyanogen get's I had the iPhone and realized I hated it because I felt so restricted I mean I won't lie it had great apps and games and a superior media player but I still feel that android is superior just because little features like deleting a song from my phone instead of hooking up to iTunes. After I got rid of my iPhone I got a G1 and discovered Cyanogen and then saw that he was getting the Nexus One and I got one a week or 2 after it was realized. So whatever phone he gets next I'll probably be getting it

What's your next phone??

Hey all,
I was just thinking since my milestone is starting to get fairly old and beat up, would any of you have a phone with a hardware keyboard you might be looking at??
So far one phone that has caught my eye, might have to paper bag it, but its the Xperia Pro. Looks thicker then a brick, but hardware seems solid. Also read somewhere that sony will begin to unlock bootloaders, if I'm not mistaken it was here within xda... I've also been looking at the nokia N900, looks amazing but then id be parting with android which I don't really wish to at this current moment...
Any way what would you guys/gals have to say??

Hardware keyboard Android phones are slowly dying out.. There are rumors of the Droid 3, maybe it'll have an unlocked bootloader, like Motorola said they would do on future phones.

G3 if it's gonna be similiar to the G2 with better specs.

I'm also looking to move away from a HW KB, I rarely use mine on the droid.
I'm eyeing the SGS2, but it doesn't look like it will come to Verizon for a while!
Awsome thanks for the replies . I know the software keyboard are getting better but I really like the hardware keyboards, the other reason is that the screens won't be as huge wich translates to better battery life... well unless I'm mistaken...

m done with motorola .. nt coming back to it .. sony xperia arc or some htc dual core phone .. mayb even blackberry storm 3 .. or iphone 5 .. too many options for me
I'm also interested in the Xperia Pro. It's not out yet, but hopefully in a year's time (when I'll be looking for a new phone) the price of the Pro will be down enough for me to afford it (either new or used). Or maybe I'll be used to on-screen keyboards by then and can choose from more phones.
I've been wondering for a while if a netbook/smartbook would be a better way to do more 'serious' web browsing, etc than a mobile phone. If I got a reasonably portable netbook/smartbook/tablet I could get a simpler and cheaper mobile phone. The Asus Transformer is looking pretty good...
maybe i am also done with motorola- i say maybe because i love the industrial design of motorola and till now any other phone out dosent have that factor. Nexus 3 or whatever is next nexus is getting my attention unless it is by samsung again.

[Q] Iphone abouts?

Im giving in and buying an iPhone for professional use however i will still be sporting my Android Tablet everywhere i go.
However everywhere i look the prices for iPhones are MONSTROUS! any one know the best place to pick one up without contract?
P.S. I live in France. Contract prices here are crazy for iPhones.
For less than an iPhone, you could buy a top-end Android phone. Why are you considering only iOS? Does iOS has something that you need that no one else has?
I already have a galaxy tab so its pointless buying an android phone as its the salme thing (same apps) i've always been a bit of an all rounder and expermient with everything.
Ive got a macbook, windows computer, android tablet, and blackberry phone at the moment but i would like to start experimenting with the iPhone and Jailbreak.

he iPhone is a pretty great device considering its developmenta and vast amount of users. When jailbrokwn it becomes a very powerful device but Android has more of a friendly experience compared to the iPhone. But if u wouldhaveto choose on a professional note id go with the iPhone its more operational and have a alot of business oriented apps. Don't get me wrongi loveandroid and wmo but the iPhone has more to offer at the moment.

It's development is tiny compared to Android. iOS 5 is touted to contain every feature available in Android 2.2 and nothing more. Stay away from apple and get some technologically advanced stuff.
I am thinking about what can i say regarding the iphone, but only occurs me one thing: LOL!
As the guy 2 posts above me said try looking in ebay
Or amazon or you can try craiglist or something like that
I'll trade my iphone for your macbook??
My iphone comes with a special cover that makes the iphone
practically invisible!!!
Thanks for your replys guys, Im closing in on a cheap one through my dad's company.
Wait for the iPhone 5 it shouls be out in a few months that way you can get a cheaper iPhone 4

What phone to buy as alternative to htc hd2

Hi guys, I 've being really happy to use my htc hd2 for nearly 3 years. I was using WM6 custom roms first, then i moved to Android and than to dual WP7/Android SD. It is really honorable and cool device. But now I am thinking to move forward and get new device. In a couple of month when WP8 will be released I will be looking to a new devices and may be pick one of them, preferably HTC or may be Nokia lumia or may be something else but definitely not iPhone.
Anyway what I am really want is to be able dual boot my new device like HTC HD2 does. So what do you think is there are potentially something like that will come up or should I better order one more brand new HTC HD2 on ebay . What do you think.
I see you like customization ! If I am right then you shouldn't go with wp devices. As the beggining you won't be able to have android. Don't mention about dual boot. You should go with some device like HTC one X or GS 3 !
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
what's wrong with the iphone you can customize the case to it
The nokia phone looks good right now but yeah, not too much customizing yet from looks of it, This based off of lack of customizing on Windows phone 7...
I don't even want to suggest it but if it does come out this year, I can't see blackberry 10 phone doing well against likes of iphone 5/lumia 920/galaxy 3... but who knows? At least blackberry was fairly customizable back then... part of rim's problem was making a phone that outdo current market then delaying the phone and it is outdated itself by time it is out :S at least nokia this time is putting out something that'll lead the pack for a while, no word on how the microsoft side of it is going though.
