cooking A new Rom

Hello & good morning Every body.
I need a lot of answers to Cook a WM6.1 rom. here are my questions :-
1- How can I convert Cab files into OEM ?

2- How can I modify them to relocate the short cuts to different folders ?

3- How can I delete the Help files from it?
-------------------------------------------
4- what are the tools I need in cooking a rom ?
-------------------------------------------
5- How can I add the OEM packages in the rom ?
-------------------------------------------
6- How can I delele the programs or files that I don't need from the rom ?
-------------------------------------------
7- Do I have to modify the registery and how can I do that ?
-------------------------------------------
8- I read that the net compact framework 3.5 is better than the 2.0, so how can I replace the 2.0 by the 3.5 ?

9- I like the Spb mobile shell and the other Diamond skins for the windows applications like the dialer, the calculaters , contacts and the Windows media player. So how can I merge this application to start as the today screen and how can I replace the windows skins with the diamond skins ? what are their pathways?

10- How can I replace the File explorer with the resco Explorer ?

11- How can I create new folders in the start menu ?

12- If I don't need the ram disk can I blend it with the rom ? I mean the programmes memory and If it possible will the device be faster ?

[Diamond] New User. Lot of Questions :)

Hi all,
i 'm a new member, and i bought two days ago my first "PDA" phone.
Start with a diamond is not so easy for a first time.
I saw some of your post, but lot of them look like Chinese for me
I would like to ask you few personal questions :
1- What is best to use Opera / IE ?
2- I would like to change the Theme of my Diamond. I already put the Htc black theme on a the External file, but i can't find the option to change it.
Where is that in option or something ?
3- Can I install MSN Messenger ? Or do i have to go online each time ?
4- When I start the phone? I have the Vodaphone & SFR logo (both) running for more than 5-7 sec. Do you know a tips to erase it, or stop the automatic auto-run ?
5- Do you have a list of software i can install for a better use ?
6- I saw some Thread talking about "Rom" ? Can we make the phone quicker or something ?

One more: Don't ask which rom, application is better! You must find the answer yourself!
Much fun with your diamond.

for the new rom 1.93 (if in europe) go to globale europe after regestring your phone and read. The diamond is quicker but use advance config .cab and the diamond tweaks .cab. For the other questions use the search fonction, there is a lot to read but you will finde what you need.

My stock HTC TYTN 2 required upgrades for touchflo 3d

Hey guyz, my tytn 2 is practically stock, and i m reali interested in usint the touchflo 3d interphase... but the problem is i duno wher to start... thers many thread that ask for the upgrade of this n that... rom, radio, hard and soft SPL... I have no idea wat is wat n which to upgrade... currently i m using windows OS 6.0 professional, CE OS 5.2.1620 (build 18125.0.4.2)... rom version 1.56.405.5, dated 08/28/07... radio version 1.27.12.11... protocol version 22.45.88.07H... can any1 gv me the link or slightly guide me on the upgrades necessary? Reali thx a million... Sorry again for my noobness... Thx~

TF2D works well on a kaiser, just not in landscape. TF3d is not a completed project yet. Many short comings to put up with. TF3D looks cooler, but M2D runs much better and cleaner.
Oh ...and try to post in complete sentences, we don't use text speak around here, it makes your questions look less than serious and people will just skip over them rather than trying to figure out what the heck your trying to say, just a friendly tip

oh, no wonder... Erm, i was previously using spb backup in WM6 professional, but when i restore it in the cooked rom garmin dk.10 final, it just won't work... I couldn't get my contacts back now... I tried to delete the file in windows folder to replace the pim.vol file (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1832331&postcount=2), but it doesn't allow me to do so in the windows folder (can't choose the delete option). Any tips for this?

Yay~ thanks to all, I have managed to solve that problem... All i did was by doing a backup with spb backup, then restore with my previous backup files and thank god, the contacts were there! So i used Pimbackup to back the contacts, restore the backup i last did, and put back the contacts... Really enjoy the TF3D on my kaiser... Just that there isn't a video call function... hope there will be a cab file to put this function in soon enough~

Need help plz ( how to creat shortcuts)

i need help plz im new at this
i installed iGo8 on my memory card and i can only lunch the program by going in the folder and launch igo8.exe to be able to use the program
is there a way to creat a shortcut to run the application from start menu or to make it selectable from the Leo rom quick link ??
can someone plz show me or guide me

The best news recently!
I have "tasted" the 6.5.2 update of X2 in some phase, I really liked it. I'm sure the 6.5.3 update combined with manila will make X2 to become the most comfortable gadget for my personal needs.

Im using a nb-NO lang ( Norwegian Bokmål ) , so that the dialer will display stuff. Or is there a way to force it to use the English one ?

for any other file than english you need to rename all 409 files to your country code
this will display english mesages !!!
if you want native language you have to translate yourself

I don't know if my problem has anything to do with FW revision (R1AD006).
First of all somehow registry import didn't work for me, only some registries were imported out of all I can see in the reg files. Then I made cabs of them and installed and all of them seemed to appear.
After this I was very happy when sence appeared on my X2! But then the problem came: in every 1-2 seconds the empty today screen blinked in.
I did a soft reset, then a hard reset and installed it right after again. But didn't solve the problem. And noticed that after maybe one minute the blinking turned into pulsating, empty today appeared more frequently but for lot shorter times.
I don't know what can cause this, any idea?
As much I was able to test it it seems to be quite fast!

Try to install these.

The bkinking still occurs after pushing slide view key once or twice.
I have other issues also but before sharing them maybe I should try patch.reg but it doesn't work.
Error message comes "line 302 - unsupported DirID 1" (HKCR) and line 234 in HKLM.
Besides it's very good feeling to have manila on X2. Now I won't feel to change back to X1 every now and then.

Hello, is possible to make/upload a cab for installing manila?
I am not sure with registry skills and copy and paste files to Windows folder is impossible with no free space message. Thanks

First I had to uninstall some apps when i tried it before hard reset. I don't know if you use SE User Guide (it's 4-5MB) or pixel city panels.
I am not an expert at all either, only trying to discover registry things, just managed to make the attached 2 cabs of jerpelea's all.reg and manila.reg and manila works after installing them.

I encountered some problems in the People tab.
When I click the All People button Manila restarts, the same thing happened when I click Updates & Events in a contact...
Is there any way to solve this?

Same here. i have problems with people tab, media tab, music tab.
Manila resets every time i try to change something + i cant import pictures or music files.
how to fix this unstable state of otherwise great MANILA!!!

you need to copy all packages and install regs
not just 2
