i recently stumbled upon this really cool sonyericsson bluetooth watch, it looks pretty cool and the functions are really awsome.
http://www.mobiledia.com/news/60110.html
however it's only for SE phones, yet i found a couple of watches like it, like this one
http://www.thinkgeek.com/interests/dads/c16c/
is there any watch like this compatible with HD2? or did anyone try it?
i have a se bluetooth headset that controls music and calls on my HD2. its possible that these watches will work in the same way with the HD2 bluetooth stack?

look here fully compatible with a few tweaks
Works just fine
I have the SE 150 bluetooth watch and use it with the smarthWatchM tweak on my HD2.
It works perfectly.
Very convenient features. I like to skip through y audio by pressing a botton on the watch, or preview emails and rss feeds on my wrist.
the battery life of the watch is actually quite good, but the price for that is the size and weight.
I can not get my long sleve shirts to cover the watch. It is too thick, so i am not wearing it on a daily basis anymore.
Wish somebody came out with a thinner, nicer design model.

Am I missing something or does the oem headset that came with my HD2 not have a mic?

you're missing something..
The mic is on the music controls, take a look at the rear, there's a tiny hole.
thanks
thanks for the repy. to test mic. i tried using it setting up my voice mail mzg w/phone in pocket and it sounded so bad I asummed it did not have one.
Hmm, funny, I didn't even know the stock headphones had music controls. I never use the stock earphones. I'd imagine with a 500 quid phone, that there's many people that don't and prefer to use their own high-end headphones. It'd be nice if they constructed the stock phones such that you could unplug them, plug in your own, and still have those little music control buttons. I think Clove sells something like that, but I didn't really want to buy yet another accessory. Oh well.

yeah I'd agree.. but the available ones don't have the music controls (yet).
So what a couple of us have done is soldered our own buds onto the controls.
I guess it would be pretty easy to solder a small jack socket on there

iphone/ipod touch headphones control the music to a certain extent, pause, and double tap is to call. it might be the other way round.

Yeah, I've resisted doing that simply because I was concerned about negatively affecting the sound quality. Not a huge issue. One good thing is that the mic seems to remain active on the HD2 even when headphones are attached, so that helps a lot. And it's not that big a deal to control the music from the screen. I don't tend to listen on a bike or anything, usually on trains and planes where I have easy access to the screen. It would be more of a 'nice to have' feature rather than a 'need to have'.
Hello all... I'm new to this forum but have found it quite helpful in my quest to optimize and get every bit of juice out of my HD2. I have looked through so many posts trying to find information on stands as I have just purchased my apple bluetooth keyboard for use as a note taking device at school. I was going to buy another eeepc after I sold mine, but realized that with the keyboard this baby is actually quite powerful enough to be a baby computer at school. A lot of the stands seem really cool but I was wondering if anyone had found or figured out a way to modify a stand that could securely clip onto the space at the top of the apple keyboard.
Attached is a link to an image of the keyboard to give you an idea of what I'm working with. Seems the space at the top is about an inch. As I can't seem to find one I can buy yet, I've been trying to think of ways I could create a clip on from one of the stands like the smart stand but thought I'd throw this out to you guys for some ideas as I'm not getting very far. Sorry if this has been covered before, but I did do a lot of searching and didn't seem to find anything like this in particular so thought I'd post.
And, btw, I'm Elle. Nice to meet you guys.
Cool idea...let us know if you figure something out.
The whole concept just sounds strange to me. Using a small phone with a massive keyboard just to do some notes. Granted both devices are beautiful but working them both together, er no.
However each to their own and all. I can't think of a way to attach them together which wouldn't inherently ruin either the phone or keyoard but what I'd do if I was so inclined to use them both together, would be maybe buy the extended battery with kickstand and then use it like the image below (obviously you wouldn't need to lean your phone against the wall with the kickstand ).
I fail to see why the HD2 needs to be attached to the keyboard in the first place .
Update - my girlfriend has suggested you just use a bit of blu-tac lol.
That's what I've been doing, just without an appropriate stand but a self-created one. It's actually a rather cool setup; this is the smaller version of the keyboard and it decreases the weight I carry around immensely. The keyboard syncs wonderfully, I just thought it might be cool if there was a way to attach it to the keyboard. I'll let you guys know if I figure anything out specifically, there seems to be some interesting ways to manufacture a simple clip on that I'm figuring out the details for at the moment.
Did you ever figure out a simple stand? I just bought one of these keyboards. and it paired perfectly and all the keys work, except the specialized function keys.
Compared to other available bluetooth keyboards (Stowaway, Freedom, etc.), this one is probably overall less space (by volume) and lighter.
Cheers
Capdase stand
hi. Just to let you know that this stand actually works.
Alright, ignoring the iPhone (it sux anyways. ), the translucent stand thats holding the phone actually fits the hd2. Not only that, I have the silicon casing around the hd2 and the stand still fits! Of course, it stretches as the iphone is of a smaller width. How do i know? I tested my bro's stand and it has been with me since. Lets just say that the holder was no longer meant for the iphone due to the bigger hd2. I.e. Its mine!
P.s It goes horizontal and vertical.
There's a couple of threads on make-your-own stands My favourite is the credit-card one, which you then fold out whenever you need it. Keep it in your wallet/as part of your phone case and you're there!

Old thread, but anyway the extended battery with it's kickstand would do this amazingly
I've noticed that speaker horns are pretty common and cheap for ipads/iphones but I can't seem to find any for the N7. My N7 is already loud enough but the tone can really vary based on how I've got it propped up.
Has anyone seen them for sale or know of a generic alternative?
Not seen one but it should be pretty easy to make one? I know that the sound improves markedly when I use my hand as a kind of speaker horn to guide the sound to the front.
Let's wait for some industrious N7 user to 3d print one up. Seems like a great idea.
Especially if it transforms the stereo speakers to work in landscape mode properly.

Exactly. And seeing the popularity of the N7, I'm surprised no one has jumped on this yet when they're ubiquitous for Apple products.

Something like this? It's okay, but the idea of the horn is portability. There are some horns that are actual stands but others are merely clip on devices.

I made one for my old S2 on my CNC Router. I could easily make one for the N7.

That actually looks great, but I'm thinking something smaller and portable. For example, this was on Shark Tank last week and got me thinking about the whole thing: thesoundbender.com . I've seen other "horns" that literally look like gramophones sticking out of the side, and there are a ton on ebay, so I'm surprised that even after the market has had several months to port things over to this tablet that nothing has come about.
Try looking on kickstarter, you're guaranteed to find a ridiculous amount of those and stupid iPhone cases and stands that all do the same thing.
I was in the Verizon store where they had the Bose Soundlink Mini set up and I paired with it and played various types of music through it and all of them sounded incredible (no surprise, it IS Bose). I have been thinking about getting a GOOD portable bluetooth. This one would seem an obvious choice but one thing about it bugs me. It DOES NOT support handsfree calls. It's A2DP only. Seems like a pretty major oversight for something that is supposed to be a high end accessory for a smartphone.
So, I know some of the other brands out there are of course Jambox, JBL, Braven, Logitech, and I'm sure there are some more. What speakers have you guys found that you really like?
I think sony SRS-BTX300/BLK may be fit with ya

The JBL micro works very well. It's smaller, which makes it more portable. The drawback is also related to how small it is. Doesn't really do bass well and distorts at higher volumes. Still, a good all around portable that's easy to transport and sounds better and bigger than comparable speakers.
I have JBL Charge and I think is the best bluetooth speaker price/quality wise but no handsfree. If you want handsfree check out Logitech UE Boom.

I've been incredibly impressed with this Monster brand speaker. Amazing phone call quality, super small, incredible battery life (4-5 hours on a charge), and the sound quality is astounding considering it fits in the palm of your hand. Try to pay around $50 for it.

Picked up two at Radioshack for $30 each the other day. Great sound and range for the bluetooth.
I'm interested in in the Anker Bluetooth speaker now.

Thanks, but looking for Speakers to play it out loud, not earbuds
I got the Shoqbox SB7200 from Philips and it's been awesome!
Real cheap compared to other similar products.
* Rugged
* Water resistant (shower, rain, pool area)
* Dust proof (ideal for biking/hiking/camping/beach)
* Long lasting battery
* Gesture control (somewhat annoying at times but works great when used properly)
* Great sound (bassy)
* Cheap

I’ve been looking for the official Sony keyboard dock but one version of it is apparently discontinued, while the new version is very hard to find. I found some Japanese eBay sellers and a French version. Both were quite expensive too..more than twice the cost of this Logitech. So i decided to give it a try and so far I’m pretty satisfied.
The keyboard layout itself is very good. I’m used to typing on a Lenovo laptop, but haven’t had any issues yet. The keys are large enough (i have fairly large hands) with good tacticle feedback (although a bit noisy). The buttons are all in the familiar areas, and no surprises which may make you press the wrong one by mistake. Hotkeys on the top which go back to home screen, multitasking, going back, music controls, volume and shutting off the screen. Alt + tab also works for multitasking.
Build quality is okay without being great. It’s all plastic but seems durable enough. It has a great weight to it, which makes it seem more well made and solid. The battery cover seems a little flimsy, but you shouldn’t have to open it very often anyway.
Batteries are 2 AAA ones, would have preferred USB charging. But apparantly they’re supposed to last 2 years, so shouldn’t have to worry about that
Bluetooth pairing is very fast and easy, and haven’t had any issues with latency or losing the connection. It connects fast after you enable/disable BT and after a restart too.
The Z2 sits in the small groove at the front, where it’s rubberized inside for grip and avoiding scratches. Without any cover it sits perfectly and very stable. I’m using the SCR12 cover however, and it can still fit if you expand the cover, as shown on the picture. An added benefit of using it with the cover is that you can adjust the angle a bit, which is not possible using the tablet alone. I tried pushing the tablet quite hard and it fits in there solidly. No chance of falling out at all!
Cons: It’s on the heavy side (probably to keep the tablet stable). Also the keys make more noise than I’d prefer. I have the black version, which has a funky looking green line, where the tablet sits (might not be for everyone ) The on/off switch is on the back, which seems kinda stupid, since you may hit some keys while turning it around.
Pros: Built-in dock to sit the tablet, great keyboard layout and keys. BT works perfectly. Much lower price than the official Sony keyboard (if you can even get your hands on it). Long battery life.

Hey thanks for the feedback !
I once ordered K480 thinking it would be the perfect keyboard but ended up sending it back to amazon because in the meantime I got a sweat deal on an excellent Belkin keyboard.
Il always wondered if the Z2 Tablet fitted the K480 as it seemed to be too large following the keyboard's specs sheet but it seems that it fit just fine !
I would definitely recommend this keyboard based on its reviews.

Cheers, hopefully someone else will also find it useful I realize I'm a bit late to the Z2 party, but I got a good deal on it a few months ago and I've been quite satisfied so far. Even though the new Z4 looks cool too
Which Belkin model did you get?
Z4 looks cool but really not worth the upgrade...especially since the keyboard isn't that great from the reviews I've read.
That's the Belkin : http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00939NTAW?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00
It was kind of the expensive (60 to 80€) but I got a great deal (30€). It's really good as it is Android-oriented, with specific shortcuts and it's pretty much compatible with any kind of tablet in terms of form factor.
