What rom are you using? (my guess: default)
What .Net CF did you Install?
Did you do a soft reset after the .Net CF install?
Did you try a uninstall / fresh install of the Diamond TF3D config?
Did you Search?
nevermind
nevermind i got it to work by deleting the tweaks.xml file thx though
Colleagues,
I have tried running TickerTape on my Fuze with a stock ROM. It installs fine but when I run it, it says that it needs a newer version of .NET. However, I have .NET 3.5 installed.
Have you been able to run it successfully in the same configuration I have?
Thanks in advance.
I have TickerTape-0.5.1.cab installed to my SD card, on stok rom, and it works fine. I did nothing special to make it work. Maybe uninstall, reset, reinstall TickerTape-0.5.1.cab? Or maybe do the same to the "MS .NET CF v3.5..cab". Just a shot in the dark.

OlSarge,
Thanks for your assistance.
I uninstalled TickerTape and .NET 3.5 but when I tried to reinstall .NET back it gives me a message saying "the .NET Compact Framework version you are attempting to install already exists in ROM".
I am at a loss.

You need to flash a cooked ROM. The stock ROM blows. Take a look at this one:forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=467592
Installing a different ROM will void the warranty.

Install netCF 2.0! Yes 2.0 because 3.5 does NOT include all features of 2.0
Solved almost all my netCF problems with cooked 3.5.

tyguy,
The problem is that most programs need 3.5.
Issue solved: here is why I could not reinstall .NET 3.5: When you first install 3.5 the instructions tell you that at the end you need to change the registry so that 2.0 is turned off (with a 0) and 3.5 is turned on (with a 1). If you uninstall 3.5 the registry is left untouched, meaning that 3.5 is still on; that's why the message that the version already exists. So, I had to go in, reverse the registry: turn off 3.5 and turn on 2.0; now I was able to reinstall 3.5 successfully.
After this, I was able to install and run TickerTape successfully.
netCF in general
@jdomi99
Though this worked for you there is still an issue.
If you look at the SDK and SPs for 2.0 to 3.5 you WILL see that 3.5 is NOT a super set of 2.0 (meaning including all 2.0 features plus 3.5 additions on top).
They can and will co-exist without negative performance issues so installing both doesn't a.) harm anything and b.) wont slow your device down. Though 2.0 is slower, applications will pull the required parts which may be 2.0 or 3.5.
That's at least how our dot net developers explained the issue.
BTW there is a little software tool to change the settings via an application instead of modding the reg. Unfortunately I do not have it anymore (would appreciate if one could post it).
Edit:
Found the little app in the Lumos thread (see attached) there you can assign general policy and even which app uses which .net version.
Install and you should find it as first listed program under Programs.
Hi
I got HTC touch VIVA few weeks back.
If I install Windows CE compact framework (NETCFv35.wce.armv4.cab) with no success .
It gave an message "Installation unsuccessful". Same issue with CF V 2.0 also.
I need to run some application which refers higher compact framework.
I used to do this in my old Imate phone with no issues.
Please help to resolve this.
Running Wm6.1 so it should have the latest NET compact framework. But when I try and run advancedconfig.exe It says it needs the newest version.
Istalling the one from Micro$oft says instal failed.
Tanks for any help on this
If you're on a stock rom, they all have cf 2.0. You need 3.5 to run AC. There's a version at modaco.com that's easy to install.
Hi
I installed Advanced_Configuration_Tool_v3.3.cab in touch viva (1.35.720.2 WWE) but it does not work.
I have installed dot net CF 3.5 but still no success.
I then tried AdvancedConfig_v2.0.2.0 it worked OK.
My issues is, any application that uses dot net CF 3.5 does not work.
In my installed program list, it shows dot net CF 3.5.
please help.
NS
try reinstalling a new CF3.5.
I did hard reset and then installed the CF 3.5 again.
I am using Vista and windows mobile device centre 6.1.
