Hang up call. Phone goes to lockscreen. [DarchDroid] - Hero CDMA Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Like the title states. When ever I hang up from a call instead of going back to the dialer or even the home screen the phone goes to the lockscreen. Not a huge problem just a little annoying. How do I change this? Or can I?

Open the dialer. Menu > Preferences > Return to dialer after call.

I have that checked. Still goes to the lockscreen. But when I unlock it it goes back to the dialer. Odd.

Disable Touchscreen While Calling

I know that many of you have disabled the "Fast Sleep" mode while making a phone call. Well what I'm wanting to do is just the opposite, disable (or lock) the touch screen entirely while making a call. The problem I'm having is that when talking on the phone I always end up touching the screen with my cheek and either accidentally end the call, call someone else, or whatever. I would like to have a utility which would lock the touchscreen maybe 5-10 seconds after a call is established. One of the hard keys or an i-pod type slider function would unlock the screen.
Does anyone know of a utility like this?
I do have the "fast sleep" mode enabled within Kaiser Tweeks. However, while the fast sleep mode turns off the screen to save battery power, it still wakes back up with just a touch.
I have an AT&T Tilt.
I've seen some discussion of S2U2 on this forum, but it appears that S2U2 is a whole new today screen. I would like to keep my today screen unchanged. I only want the screen to lock during a call.

It is a lock not a today replacement. That is what I use.
Thanks parleyp, I guess I'll give s2u2 a try. The info that I've seen just seems rather complicated when all I need is a simple lock utility. Why is there discussions on s2u2 affecting the weather tab, clock display, background, etc?
Which version are you using on your tilt?
Would you be interested in something like that??
If so search for opal dialer in kaiser Rom development subforum.
I am fairly certain that you can just press the "power" button and shut the screen off. When you are ready to hang up, just hit the end button. This is not automatic, but it works for me.
yea, i was gonna say: what's wrong with just pressing the power button?

Prximity Sensor problem....

Hi, I have a huge problem. Every time I make a call, preferably my voicemail, it asks me to press a number in the keypad.
Okay, that's fine. But the only problem is the screen blacks out immediately when the call is made and I cannot choose any of the options. I'm still in the call, although it will repeat the options for about a minute and just end the call.
I can't end the call manually or use the keypad. Tried pressing the lock button, the search, the menu, and Back button. Nothing seems to work.
Is there anything I can do about this? Because this is really becoming a hinderance.
Hi the proximity sensor should brighten the display up the moment you take it away from your ear, if it dosent prpbably there is a problem with it and you need to check it out with either the provider or HTC if you can.
normally to end call you click on the notification on top of the phone.
It is kinda annoying there is no physical button to end calls but i guess thats touchscreens for you
Probabily you use one case
that cover the proximty sensor
I don't use any case or screen protiction... maybe I should to replace it...Thanks..

I had the same problem. Hard reset solved it. Also solved a problem I had connecting with intermittent connections to Wifi. I think a bum app may have caused the problems.
Starting to happen again, not like last time though. Now it's intermitent and seem to recover when the other end hangs up. May try to get a replacement phone this time.
From what I've seen around the internet this is an OS issue... And it happens to me intermittently as well, though my lock button brightens the display... It seems to have something to do with the screen timeout and the lock screen enabling itself...
Mine had the same issue.
I would pull it away from my face, nothing.
Laid it down flat, nothing
Occasionally it would flash.
I had to return it, no problems since.
The sensor must have been loose and slid behind the open area of the glass.
If you can still, get a replacement
My replacement is in the mail. I have found that if I shake or tap the phone it will flicker and come back during a call. I think the sensor is faulty.

Hero Lag?

Im not sure why this is doing this. I upgraded my fathers phone, rooted it, and placed liquid rom on the phone.
If i assign a shortcut to call a contact for instance, i click on the contact and it takes close to 4 to 5 seconds for it to goto the dial screen?
Also, doesnt the hero come with a sensor for turning off the screen while on a phone call?
If i remove my phone from listening by my ear, the screen stays black until i hit the end button?
My dad swears it wasnt this way before lol
The Hero does not have a sensor to end a call on it's own, just the Eris.

The Hero does have a setting to turn the screen off during a call, some ROMS also have a setting where you can choose what the power button does during a call. Mine, for instance, is set to end the call when I press power, and wake the screen when I press menu. Just play around with the settings in the ROM's settings, sometimes they are not default.
What radio are you using?
Im not sure, i will have to check.
I figured the ota i did updated the radio, im a EVO guy myself
but what i will do is grab a new radio and flash it
you guys know what the latest version is?

[Q] Dialer screen loss

I'm running 4.4.4. Rooted and unlocked.
This problem occurred before I upgraded.
When I call someone, the dialer screen immediately disappears and when I'm done with the call I usually have to press the power button 3 or 4 times to get my lock screen back. I have blue tooth for my hearing aids. When I use that, it doesn't disappear although after the call I need to hit the power button twice for the lock screen. I might have changed some settings inadvertently due to the screen changing when it sould have turned off. I think the blue tooth on my hearing aids is what activates the screens. I'm using Apex launcher. I have had my phone completely apart because of a plugged mic opening. I don't think this anything to do with the problem at hand, At one time on my phone I saw a setting someplace where I could end a call with the power button. Anyone know where that's at? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I might flash it back completely stock.
Moto X DE
Do you have two dialer apps? I had a similar problem and the problem ended up being having the stock dialer as well as the google dialer installed.
I got rid of the stock dialer and then the problem went away.
Settings > Accessibility > Power button ends call (check that).
Do you have a screen protector? If misplaced, it may activate the sensor that turns off the screen when the phone is up to your face.

To anyone having this issue: I have seen this issue several times now with multiple members. I haven't seen a working solution yet except that a factory reset sometimes solves it, and flashing back to 100% stock as per the return to stock thread (in the General sub-forum) always solves it. I know it is often a pain to have to set everything up all over again, but it is the only solution I'm aware of.
Good luck
Yep factory reset was the only thing that fixed it for me

Phone ring but incoming call screen doesn't show

I have a XT1095 PE L5.1 latest, everything was fine and suddenly the problem started, when receiving a call phone ring but screen stayed at standby no incoming call shown, I approach my hand to the phone, slide down the lock but also no incoming call screen is shown only the home screen, when I click the phone icon it gives me a white screen with three choices, one of them is return to call in progress only then I can see the incoming call to respond.
I need help, Thanks

Haven't got a solution, but just wanted to say this problem isn't specific to the Moto X; my sister's G3 once had this same problem. Fixed it with a factory reset. So, whatever is wrong, it's the Android or Google Settings. Maybe try disabling "OK Google everywhere" if that's on (shouldn't be if Moto Voice is on).

I know a factory reset will solve the problem but I was trying not to do it, anyway it looks inevitable.
Thanks a lot.

I have the same problem and it solved some minutes ago. It is because of "notification of phone app" that was blocked by some unknown reason.
U can change it in settings > apps > on the menu select "show system apps" > phone > notification.
Hope work for you too.
Thanks

I am not sure about LP 5.1 but I had the similar problem with my XT1092 N7.1, by exploring through the settings, I realised there was no default Phone App set on the phone.
You can solve this by simply going to Settings > Apps > Configure apps > Phone app > Set your default Phone app
I hope this helps.

Thanks! Mine was blocked because I installed a root Notification blocker and forgot to whitelist the "Phone" app.
