what apps do people use on their phones that support ms-exchange?
I know of
Touchdown
Roadsync
Moxier
I think thats it,
What i'm after specifically is support for multiple folder push, i'm not so bothered about the calendar, just the multi folder push
I look forward to your suggestions

hahahahaha. Do you know what exchange is and how it is supposed to work?
yea stock android exchange support is fairly lame, certainly compared to the iOS offering
I installed touchdown again and that does what I need but it makes my eyes bleed!
Has anyone tried modding the stock exchange support?
I'm not a coder so I was kinda dropping a subtle hint

Looking for a better email client than the native..free would be nice, the default one doesn't seem to refresh correctly. The Hero native one looked promising but went back to cupcake instead
Any suggestions since you guys have been using it longer than I have (since Sunday)
you can try K-9 seems to work really well. is based on the native client but seems to work better worth a try.

I'd recommend K9. Had it since it was first released onto the market, it's an excellent app. in my opinion.
the htc mail app is excellent. see the rogers rom.
Another vote for K9 Mail. Latest version that's not yet on the market has nice improvements and fixes.
The HTC mail app was pretty nice when I loaded the Hero rom on but I took it off since it ran to slow, is there a way to get just the mail app?
I tried out k9 and I like it and works pretty well...don't really care for the icon but that's something I can live with lol

Likely origins of the icon: link. The devs must be Doctor Who fans
Ah yea looks pretty similiar...works well though, much better than the default with my 4 other email accounts
We are thinking about getting a Xoom at the office but were curious if the honeycomb mail client can support client certificates. Can anyone confirm or deny this. I know that previous versions could not and so far secure eas is the only way we can use them other than with Touchdown.
Thanks
I have to use touchdown with mine, google sucks at the enterprise client

Exchange SSL is a server side certificate that validates the identity of the server. Client side certificates validate the identity of the client TO the server. They are different animals, this was explained to me in the MOTO forums and there is in fact like half a dozen people working on this very issue.
The short term solution is 3rd party as already mentioned.
Moto is working that or google is?

People at MOTO are working with at least one particular user in their forums.
this is a huge thorn in our side as a secure corporation
I tried the app secure eas (which works great on froyo on the incredible) but it is soooo unstable. I know that we can use touchdown, but i wish we had a free version. Just sounds as though the client certs are not even thought about... kinda rediculous.

Well if the company is that hardcore about security they can probably kick in 15 bucks for the e-mail app. That's my initial knee-jerk reaction to such a statement. To my knowledge, the MOTO team has gotten nowhere on this FWIW and the issue I'm sure goes back to the default mail client just not being up to par for it.
To be perfectly honest, it's not all that suprising to me.

Well it is a combination of two things...
1 - the company wants to be secure and because of it (like many other companies) is all Blackberry at this time.
2 - I cant stand freaking bberry devices so I am trying to get the devices to connect to exchange and in a way we can control and monitor.
With that said, how the hell can the iphone support client certs and android cant? Especially when there are like 10 mail apps out there... the only one that does... oh of course... the one you have to pay for.
I am not saying paying is out of the question, but it sure would be nice to tout that free price tag.

Well it's a misconception that any ipad app worth a **** is free, they're not... I own one.
There's also no "free" anything going on here... you bought an $800 Xoom to get around using your companies crappy blackberrys and I would do the same lol. for less than 5% of the total purchase you can complete the experience. Just do it and get it over with lol.
BTW here is the MOTO thread on this issue:

I have a galaxy note internatiol version N7000 and I LOVE the email application on it. I have purchased the one x, the galaxy s3 on AT&T and the galaxy nexus. All those other phones have HORRIBLE email applications. What I have to have is the ability to see the whole email and the note allows that via pinch in to zoom out.
So my question is this. Is it possible to package up the note's email app and install it on another phone? I don't want to root or mod unless I absolutely have to. This would solve the only problem I have with these other phones. Frankly I can't believe this is not a bigger topic of conversation. My wife won't touch android because of this, (her iphone does it without even pinching to zoom out) and I am getting sick of moving the email around to read the text.
So any super programmers out there interested in getting that email app off of the note and making it a package to install on the S3 or other new phone?
why don't you just download it from internet...
I upload the email.apk with exchange service.apk from my note

LOL. Why do people say that when K9 does not do that at all. I have not seen not one single email app on android do anything like the iphone email app in regard to sizing emails. The only one that has come close is the galaxy note email app. It does it but you have to pinch it every time. I'm starting to think its an apple copyright thing because it makes no sense why even GMAIL does not have pinch to zoom at this point in its career. No K9 breaks the html to fit in the window thats it. The emails look even worse.
Can anyone with the phone share what the email client is like for exchange. If I recall correctly, what came with the original x was missing some features like conversation view.
I can't. But I'm sure its going to be just like any stock 4.4.4 email client and be lacking as you mention. The best thing I ever did was try nine exchange and it is awesome. Like stock but with all the features you wish you had.

Yea I did the nine trial but trying to not buy more stuff lol
Anyone have any luck with any EWS clients? I've been using AquaMail, which works well, but is tough on the battery. It must be an OWA or EWS compatible app. The reason for this is, any Activesync app causes my companies security policies to ban my email access because I do not have Maas360 installed. I refuse to install Maas360 and give my company that much access to my personal phone. Also, it wont work with my device being rooted. I would also prefer the app handles email like AquaMail does. Thanks for any recommendations.
I wish there was a way to make NineMail work, that app is excellent.

I just recently installed the exchangesservices.apk and it runs through my GMail app. Works fine, no issues. I used this one here and just installed like normal.
Thanks @palosjr. Does your work email have extensive security features? Ill try it and see how it works for me. How do you stay on top of app updates? Thanks.

We are pretty locked down... our IT department is tough when it comes to permissions and such.
Normally I just keep a look out on reddit.com/r/android and when I see that an update for Play Services has been released, I look into it and see what it entails.

Unfortunately, this did not work. I got it installed and setup. Got my emails synced and bam! Blocked by Maas360. My experience has shown me that if the app doesn't access email via OWA or EMS, I will get blocked. Thanks for the suggestion though.
Have you tried CloudMagic? I think they use owa

Best is always samsung stock for me. It can show my company contacts name company position numbers etc. There ia no app can do that. And colored signature.
I tried boxer (cm mail app now), cloudmagic, nine, gingermail. None of them work likw i want it to. If your company have office 360 work you can use Microsoft app ews outlook. Ita really nice and themed like windows phone.
Just happened to come across this post in a Google search and hoping someone could ban the following spammers that posted above..
The OP specifically said no ActiveSync apps and specifically not Nine (which uses ActiveSync). CloudMagic / Newton Mail is a SpyWare / email harvesting application that collects your mail on their servers.
