Hi my phone has recently had the froyo build from keis using the reg hack and it's definately worse than before. I want to do the following but just want to check its a good idea/ best way.
I want to do a factory reset (to clear out any 2.1 garbage hanging around)
root the phone
install a lag fix
possibly install another fw
I have backed up the apps I car about with astro I was then going to do a factory reset
Then root the phone with SuperOneClick
Then install CFLagFix
Then hopefully my phone would stop behaving badly.
Also a bit worried about the fact I used the keis hack should I have waited for the uk release? How will I be able to install the uk froyo build when it is released?
Is there a fw with all this stuff pre done which would work better?
(another question is there any fw out yet which support the wii mote?)
Thanks
Sorry also had another question. Is it a good idea to install another launcher and if so whats the best way to do this is there some kind of lite rom I can install which wouldn't come with all the anoying smasung stuff and touch wiz?
I upgraded to Froyo via the reg hack, and having not done a factory reset, it was slow as **** even with OCLF.
But once I installed voodoo, it was like night and day. Vastly faster than 2.1 ever was, even with OCLF. And I still haven't done a factory reset, and probably won't.
Hey guys. I had rooted my Nexus One without unlocking the bootloader using the 1-click root application. I have managed to successfully use Cyanogen roms in the past. I am currently running eViL's NXSense v1.26.
I want to now revert back to the stock Froyo Rom, install all the latest updates which have been done after Froyo 2.2 & be ready eventually for Gingerbread . My question is how I can safely revert back to the stock Froyo rom & still be rooted?
I have Rom Manager installed and I am currently using clockwork recovery. I believe that there is an option in Rom manager to flash the stock Froyo rom. Is this the best option to select? Also I have an ext 3 partition of 512 MB. Do I have to format my card to delete the partition ?
I would really appreciate if someone can post a step by step procedure regarding what needs to be done

Thanks for the link mate. I would still like to know since my Nexus is rooted, if I revert back to the stock rom will I lose the root? Also if I revert back to stock Froyo 2.2, will I get the OTA updates which have been released after that? Finally what about the ext 3 partition? Do I keep it or do I have to delete the partition and how I delete it if it is not required?
Hey guys. Can anyone please look into my questions? I want to switch back to the stock rom while still maintaining my root.
you will lose root on a completely stock (untouched) ROM, no matter the version. But you can always root back through various methods if needed. Rooting does not prevent you from getting OTA updates.
If you go to Froyo 2.2, you MIGHT have to manually update to 2.2.1 (FRG83) depending on if Google made the update available again (it was taken off for some reason...) but you WILL get future updates (such as the new FRG83D)
As for the ext partition, I do not think it's useful, unless you are planning to use apps2ext which requires root I believe. Don't take my word for granted, I don't know much about this.
Thank you replying mate. As mentioned earlier, rom manager does have an option of going back to the stock Froyo rom. I have a2sd enabled. So how do I go back to the stock Froyo rom. Do I have to format my sdcard to delete the ext 3 partition?
Hey guys. I managed to download & install Nexus One FRF91 stock rooted image using rom manager. I have also managed to restore my applications using Titanium backup. I can see all my root applications are working fine & I can also see the superuser app.
Now when I go to Settings--> About phone--> System updates, it gives me a message that my system is currently up to date. Is this because I am rooted? As mentioned earlier I rooted using the 1-click root & so my bootloader is still locked. How do I move on from FRF91 to the remaining Froyo updates while still maintaining my root?
Also when I connect my phone to my PC & use Minitool Partition Wizard, it shows me my ext 3 partition & the swap space. Since I am not using a2sd, how do I regain this space while still maintaining other files? Can I just delete these 2 things using Minitool Partition Wizard?
I would really appreciate some help here folks
Ok Mods I have finally updated to FRG83D without unlocking my bootloader Also I do not have to delete my a2sd partition now. So please delete this thread. Thank you to everyone who attempted to answer my queries.
I have a Droid 1 that was rooted. I got the OTA 2.2.1 update and installed without thinking it would break my root. Now it is broken and I can't things to work. I've tried to root it again with no luck. So, I guess I want to just go back to 2.2 and fix my issues lol. Is it anyway possible? I'm pretty much lingo retarded so I need step by step instructions.
What about rooting what you have? Quick google shows its doable (not checked deeper though)
Hi yall.
I said id return to my nexy and reset it and all. So i followed this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=614850 here as i have done in the past in case a custom ROM went lolz.
Doing the same procedure now, it fails to get the OTA update to GB from Google's servers.
What am i forgetting?
Thanks yall
Hai,
I read it some where. To get OTA, go to Manage Applications>All>Google Services Framework> Clear Data and Force Stop.
Now check for update
i know what you mean, but it does not appear at all on my 2.1 stock nexus. i tried deleting data from Gtalk and such but with no success
Why not just use the PASSIMG method? You could go directly to a Gingerbread one. Our if you don't want to bump your main version, just manually apply the OTA update(s) using the official update zip(s).

thanks guys. i actually used the PASSIMG to 2.2 and from there it update smoothly to 2.3.6!
i guess im back to flashng custom roms as i ve been tinkering with my newer EVO 3d GSM
Hi Guys
bit of a newb her, I tried to flash a jellybean rom and after doing plenty of research followed the instructions to the letter. The result was that it didnt work and reverted back to honeycombe 3.2. The problem i have is that it no longer allows me access or set up my google account and some buttons such as the home button no longer seem to work. I have been unable to go back to stock and am lookign for a little guidance.
I did carry out a factory reset.
Kies is also not recognising my tablet.
I apologise for starting a new thread if this has been asked before. I have not seen an identical problem on this forum so far
Did you make a backup in cwm recovery for the stock honeycomb before flashing the jellybean? And what method did you use to revert back to stock?
For the factory reset, did you do it after reverting back to stock or before?

I did do a backup in CMW recovery. The flash to jellybean didn't failed. It took a few minutes and then restarted and booted up as 3.2. The factory reset and wipe cache partition were carried out as per the instructions online prior to installing the zip file.
I'm just hoping it is possible to resolve this problem.
thanks for any help
Just to provide an update. I have now resolved the problem
After trying to factory reset my tab then became stuck was stuck on the galaxy tab screen. Using the stock rom for 3.2 found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1483168 i was able to flash this using Odin and much to my relief it booted up again in 3.2.
Much to my amazement once it was flashed onto my device and booted up i was able to get an OTA update to ICS 4.0.4 which was a bit of a suprise. Not sure how or why this happened but i am very pleased with the result. ICS is a huge improvement from honeycombe and is like having a new tablet. It is so much smoother and more responsive.
I was using CWM 5.2.0.4
Since you have figured out how to resolve the problem please change the title from [Q] to [solved] this way if someone else has a similar problem they will know that they can find a answer here.
