Is there an app or some trick that will save your widget layout?
I have 7 screens on LauncherPro, full of icons and widgets, and I want to have a complete cleanse and rebuild but would love a way to kind of 'save' the layout in case I don't like the changes.
I have taken screen shots of each page but it's still a pain to manually re-do them.
I suppose it's sort of like Scenes in Sense, only I don't have Sense (in either meaning ).
Any ideas?
DonĀ“t know about LauncherPro...
But in ADWLauncher you can save:
- Backup ADW setting
- Backup desktop configuration
i tried to restore my adw settings once, but all my widgets said "problem loading data"
Might be because i switched from system version to standalone version and did a rom upgrade too
Im pretty sure each time ive flashed a rom and restored everything the widgets never load on titanium and mybackup pro. Only nandroid restore can restore your desktop with widgets. It probably has to do with system data which isnt saved on the backup programs.

...more Battery if i have Touchwiz on my Phone too?
And how can i get ADW.Launcher only (Replace Touchwiz?)
i used it for a day and battery was fine
i also had launcher pro and widget locker all installed but was using adw so no problems on battery
now to use it as default instead of tw launcher
just install it and press the home bottun u will get an option menu to choose to wich launcher and a use as default so
click use as default and then select adw launcher
keep in mind i dont know if u can re use tw with out reflash or something but again i am a n00b so each time i choose the launher i watn
Yea i know that, thats how it works for now. but i do think Touchwiz Home isent off. it feels like i could just change between them easy (home switcher).
I think ADW.Launcher is on and Touchwiz is kinda in the background... using my memory!
I would like to get it replaced fully (NO TOUCHWIZ)
You can do this by rooting your phone and then using titanium backup to uninstall TWlauncher.
I don't think that when you use ADW , Touch wiz remains in the background.
Yes, you are right. Even though Android system puts the inactive threads to sleep but they are still persistent in the memory. Getting rid of TW.Launcher will give you a bit more free memory but I don't see why it will change your battery backup performance. Unless you are using some funky add-on with ADW.Launcher which is running all the time in the background.
How is your battery backup without ADW.Launcher?
And yes, as Aldonski mentioned, get yourself rooted and get Titanium backup to remove TW.Launcher for good.
I need TW launcher to connect to kies....it won't with otherwise
Sent from my GT-I9000M using XDA App
Yes it will if you remove it completely. I connect to KIES without TW.Launcher.
Can anyone tell me how to add apps to the little bar on the bottom of Launcher Pro? Right now I have the default phone, chat, apps, browser, music but I've seen pictures of people who actually have real apps pinned down there. I tried click/holding on the icon and it give me the option to...
"Change Shortcut"
"Change Icon"
"Swipe Gesture Action"
When I click Change Shortcut, my screen goes black for a second and then comes right back to the main desktop and thats it. Am I missing something? I'd like to remove all the generic, ghosted, white icons and pin the real ones down there instead.
Thanks
This question gets asked a lot and I mean a LOT. Use the search function next time.
But to answere, the NookColor version of Android doesn't have a shortcut picker so doing this with any launcher will crash it. There is currently no fix but there is a work around.
If you have launcher pro on your phone you can set it up how you want it for the Nook and then make a backup. Copy the backup to the Nook and restore it there. You will need an SD card for this.
The work around to getting apps on the dock bar for Launcher Pro is too much work for me, haha. I tried Zeam and ADW.Launcher and discovered both will allow you to just drag/drop to the dock bar instead.
Ya I should have searched better, my bad. Just found the answer 10 times over after a bit more reading. I ended up just using ADW instead since this is my only android device so no backup to take from a phone.
HI there,
i would like to have an app that saves the settings for widgets, shortcuts etc on the homescreens. I tried mybackuproot and titanium, but maybe i am too stupid or these programs are not doing what i want.
help please
sgs tools saves your pages but widgets have to be redone when restoring.
LauncherPro has a backup function
thanks, but i just use the stock launcher
This evening, for some reason, my phone made a startup noise and, when I looked, I saw that the screen read "Safe Mode".
I rebooted fully, but most app icons are now outside of the folders I spent some time creating for them. And non-OEM homescreen widgets have disappeared.
Disappointed :-(
I have TitaniumBackup and, every Sunday at 2am, I have it set to do "Redo backups for modified data".
My question (my hope) - could I restore my folder contents and homescreen widgets by restoring a backup?
Is there a single file or a small number of files I should be looking to restore from within the backup, as opposed to the whole thing?
Fingers crossed. Thanks.
Depends on the type of launcher on your phone .
Both ADW as well as GO launchers have the ability to backup [manually] , the widget and icon positions on the homescreen as well as your custom app drawer configuration settings.
So if you had made a manual backup , coming from one of these launchers , then things could have been easier .
If you were on touchwiz , just stop looking and start configuring from scratch
Hi, is it possible to save a modified apex launcher theme or the positions and the mapping of the icons?
looking for one as well
or can i save it with an app?
Titanium Backup backups the app and it's data. Just make sure you have your modified icons in the same folder when you restore.

I'd like to think its possible either through TBU or the apex backup that i could save my layout. So far, whenever I change or update my rom, when I restore either the TBU or restore apex from backup, it doesn't place my icons and widgets. It only restores my settings (# of screens, transition effects, etc) but not my icons or widgets. Am I missing something or is that just the way it is?
