This is a very simple bootscreen for Cronos Droid. It isn't that special or cool but it speeds up the boot time for older Cronos Droid (1.7.1 and under) Please feedback (how was the speed?)
Boot time with stock bootscreen (Cronos Droid 1.7.1): 00:01:42
Boot time with my bootscreen: 00:01:07

Hi,
Just one or two question, I wanna make a bootscreen too but I don't really know how to do it... So which tutorial did you use for making a 2.1 bootscreen? I already have my gif...
Moreover, I wanna backup my current bootscreen how I do it ?
Thanks for your help
Edit : I forgot, I like your bootscreen, it is simple but it's nice ! It seems that Cronos's bootscreen are well done ^^
Edit 2: When I look at your files why aren't they gif files ?

Glad you like my bootscreen The reason why it isn't gifs is that all 2.1 ROMs uses the system (unless the deveoper has made it different which only Stickman89 has) and 1.5 ROMs uses gifs. How you backup you bootscreen is depending on which ROM your using (location) but you can always use nandroid since that always works and there is no explaining needed (i'm not entirely sure how you do it otherwise. I know you gotta pull the "bootanimation.zip" but I don't remember the code). I didn't learn it from a toturial i picked it up from here and there but i'm currently working on a text toturial on how to make the "bootanimation.zip" so look out for that
Thanks for your explanation !
I have learnt a lot the past 2 days and I have done it Now I'm trying to theme my phone (1 apk done ^^)

Do you know the name of a custom rom with said bootscreen?
EDIT: found a modaco one, will upload bootanimation in about an hour.
Thanks x100 and more Waiting for upload
I have a strong suspicion that the bootscreen is custom, so I'm looking for another one :/
EDIT: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=639770 is a QB one, not sure if it's 2.1 though. Tell me if it's not the one you're looking for...

I'm not sure. You could always do a back-up and give it a try.
Report back and let us know if it works.

I had a phone on 1.5 for a few months and don't remember that bootscreen. maybe it was replaced by a t-mobile one. sorry
Hmmm only flashing the zip file doesn't did the trick. Shall try some other stuff later.

That's why I said in the linked post that you have to remove the current bootanimation.zip first.
I didn't include that in the update-script because the boot animation can be in different directories depending on ROM

I've edited the update-script to remove the current bootanimation.zip, provided it is in system/customize/resource.
It should work, although I haven't tested it.

Yeh, I've removed the zip now - I wrote the script wrong and I haven't got time to fix it right now.
It's easy enough to locate and delete your bootanimation.zip and use the zip from the linked post on the first page of this thread anyway.
This is a good animation, I think it is better than stock CM.
I take no credit at all.... I'm just bringing it to the Nexus S side...
If you like these, then check the original thread out.
Install root explorer.. system/media
Enjoy!

I had the same problem. What i did was, 1) delete the original bootanimation.zip and rename the cyanbootnanimation.zip to bootanimation.zip

Is that in the rom itself or in the system. I been trying it. All I get it just a blank boot loader.

Im on cm7. All u have to do is to use root explorer, get to system/media and replace the bootanimation.zip thats already there, and replace with the one u downloaded

Installation is just like stated above....
They also have a new honeycomb one.... looks and works great!
Figured it out im usin the honeycomb one
NICE one!!! i using the green and i no lag... Thanx
thanks for the share looks realy nice
Very nice, works great (no lag at all) !
Do we need root explorer to install these? Can this be done by flashing thru CWM?
Thanks a lot for this!
here so its easier for people to install. These zips are flashable using clockwork.
Heres the green one
http://www.mediafire.com/?oak9a2chka3rul6
heres the cyan one
http://www.mediafire.com/?ip3aq6ww3xi1gqa
just put the cyan one through clockwork.
awesome!
it slightly lags at some points though
A boot animation themed like the newer ubuntu ones.
If anyone has any suggestions for improvement let me know
EDIT: I just realized that i should probably post how to install this...
for CM7 and a couple other roms put it in /system/media/bootanimation.zip
and for the stock rom/sense based it goes at /system/customize/resource/bootanimation.zip
I've read that for sense based it may need to be called VZWbootanimation.zip or something along those lines just replace whatever is there.
permissions need to be set at rw-r--r-- or an upside down L on the left side in root explorer if you don't understand that.

so i cant just Flash it on Clockwork?
this is just the actual boot animation file that goes into the file system... you can just put it there with root explorer or the like.
doesn't get extracted by the way. you just need to rename the zip file

Thanks for this great work
Running latest energy ROM, would it be "/system/customize/resource/downanimation.zip"?
Just put it on your sdcard and flash it - thats all you have to do with the zip file.
Hey buddy looking nice, could you tell me how many frames you would suggest and what framerate to use for a downanimation cheers.
Here is one of the downanimations you can see above.
Yesterday I reorganized the Wallpaper Section and the Animation Section follows in the next days.
Download
ARHD Blu Comet Down Animation was installed (flashed) succesfully.
It's very good point to be a flashable zip - for noobs like me
Very Very nice work
Thanks to all of you
Last one is cool. Thansk for these
It's very nice and easy. But how can i revert to my default boot animation?
Just load your nandroid you hopefully made before
or
reinstall your ROM
or
use the search function, because some original animations are available on xda, I think.

Golden rule always do a back up before you flash anything.
nice animations
could you please make a downanimation for Leedroid?
thanks
Do you have a wallpaper or what should it look like?
Endless rotating stars (speed is as always adjustable)???

headline: Desire HD presented Leedroid HD 5
and then: could you let the "super - android" fly away like superman or something like that??
thanks
Please load up your pic, not as thumbnail
Here is the pic
Could be a nice effect with two lines, just an idea.
1st line moves to the right and the 2nd to the left.
The end of the animation shows "Desire HD" in the upper right corner and in the 2nd line on the left side "LeeDrOid HD5".
32 letters...mmhhh... maybe 16 frames.
How long does it take that your downanimation is gone, in seconds?
Yes, could be cool :-D
25 seconds
Sent from my HTC Desire HD
25 off time? Thats a lot.
I will post again when finished ...
This forum has been a blessing to me for quite awhile.... Now I've finally found out how to give back.. Just a token of my appreciation.

MORE TO COME...
PS. People have requested Bootanimations in landscape mode. I will convert some to landscape asap. Thanks
Installation Instructions
1. Rename downloaded boot animation to bootanimation.zip
2. Copy zip to the root of your SD Card
3. Move it to /data/local/ or /system/media/ and replace existing one using root explorer or any other file browser that gives you root
4. Reboot Phone.
Special thanks to Logan Kenesis at givemefreeart.com for the video used.
Thanks
woww cool, but is it only on landscape orientation?
and is it okay to load 28 MB file at boot?
thanks for it...
OMG, look awesome but 28mb for animation it much too big my friend
Sorry people . First time. I'm gonna figure out a way to decrease file size.

I really love your blue boot animation, and tried and my phone stuck and i've got bootloop
FIXED!
Did you fix it?
Of course the Freddy one is going to be a huge file. There is alot of animation going on and its a little lengthy.
The blue digit is awesome. Thanks on this.
Really like the blue countdown Thanks! It seems to be too short though atleast on the rom i'm using (NexusHD2)... Is there a way to make it loop or to make it start countdown from 10?
thanks good job !
Making it count from 10 will make the file too large or degrade the quality of the bootanimation.
Ahhh gotcha... And no way to just make it loop? The reason I ask is because when it gets to the end it looks like it just freezes, even though the phone is still booting up. After the freeze there is enough time for it to countdown again... At least on my HD2.
Anyway thanks! It still looks awesome.
