Sorry if this seems noobish or is in the wrong section, but I tried searching for a working zip file but all the links i found didnt work. I want to get up to frf91 but cant get past frf72 now(i was slacking on updating), does anyone have a copy of the zip to get from frf72 to frf83, and maybe if possible to get from frf83 to frf85B. Thanks in advance for any help.
Wrong section.
The update was: http://android.clients.google.com/packages/passion/signed-passion-FRF83-from-FRF72.684bd56a.zip
Link leads to 404 now.
Do some search please...

If you want stock FRF83: http://www.mediafire.com/?zymqgjdqini
PS: why do you want an old build?
FRF91 is out now... as FRF85B
i tried searching, i said that when i posted, all i could find was the 404 link, thanks for the other one though.
And i thought i needed to do the updates in order, i didnt realize i could just jump to frf91, thanks again though.

Im new here. Sorry if this is a newb topic but i have no clue what to do now. I'd even be fine with just going back to the latest unrooted version right now because im stuck on rc29.
I originally had CRC1. I'm having trouble on one of the last steps of getting root. I used this guide http://androidandme.com/2009/05/guid...stall-cupcake/ . I am on i think step 3 and everything else has went well. I'm back to RC29, but when i go to upgrade radio image it says either cant find file or bad file after i have copied it to sd card and renamed it update.zip. Can someone please give specific steps on how to get this working? If for some reason I can't get root can i get back to the original OS CRC1 that i had easily? Please help. Thanks.
There is no reason to start a new thread dude. There is a whole thread on all these questions.

Answer: yes if you're not rooted you should receive the OTAs and get back to CRC1 soon
Please search next time and post in correct forum (Q&A)
sorry about that. I've tried searching and trying different things. Will I still get OTA update to RC33 even If its not letting me manually look for an update in settings/about phone? sorry for the noob questions. Thanks.
It will automaticlly upgrade over night, redownload the radio image and try with a new one
If you are using windows, it hides the file ext so you only need to. Rename it update not update.zip
ok so i rooted my phone and decided it wasnt for me. So i went back to the stock version and i want to update my phone back to 1.6 but as you all know i cant go straight to that. i have looked everywhere to find the updates and i cant find any. i have been waiting all day and i havent gotten any update from ota. so i need your help. thanks. ps im on verson 1.0 and rc29 if that helps any of you. thanks again!
I do not know if there is an update.zip for 1.6 yet, but you can search for one for 1.5 and upgrade to it. I would get you a link but i am using my phone at work to post.
here is 1.5 http://www.mediafire.com/?zmdyjz3y2zn
whoops wrong thread
I downloaded the file about 10 times now and each time the check comes back as wrong. This cant be normal. Any help would be appreciated. I want to install for cyanogen rom.
Try it from Enomther page. He has the radio in a update.zip
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=614427
Does it matter that Im going to flash Cyanogen with his radio?
I just downloaded Enom's radio, same issue. I dont see how I keep getting corrupted radio downloads?
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
Edit:
I've downloaded the EPE54B radio 3 times and keep getting the same MD5 sum...
Radio_20100203_2_Signed_PASSION.img
310d85c4998163818f7dcdef730c2a12 - Real Checksum
The sticky thread for 5.0.5.3 has the MD5 listed as
Radio Image (fastboot flash radio): 20100203_2 (EPE54B)
Download: http://n0rp.chemlab....ned_PASSION.img
MD5Sum: 074081e21ef9f4573f01a30b46dcdf86
Anyone else experience this? Has the post not been updated to reflect a new link or file? I've used both FastSum and winMD5Sum and haven't had this problem before.
UPDATE: Did a little looking around on the server that's hosting the radio file and the checksum listed there matches what I've been getting. The sticky thread needs to be updated..
Good you got it. This radio can be used with Cyanogen.
Thanks for your help. I went to cyanogen's forums and found the answer. I have been reading about rooting my phone now for quite some time, but still have been hesitant to do so.
Perhaps I will finally root my phone tonight
BTW, I found this from a post in cyanogen so credit to the original poster
Im running frf83 on my rooted nexus one, i have found a few versions of frf85b and frf91, flashing them comes up successful but when i restart, settings says im still at frf83.
Ive heard that you can now unlock without affecting the bootlocker, so am i getting the wrong files? If so can anyone point me in the right direction? (im not an advanced user but im not too bad)
Please help thanks
PS i tried to post links of the files i have but wasnt allowed. they were both from htcpedia. com.
I'm also looking for a usable+deodexed FRF83-FRF91 update.zip.
This is the official download but I cant apply it because of the custom recovery, and all the files have a ".p" suffix (patch files)
http://android.clients.google.com/packages/passion/signed-passion-FRF91-from-FRF83.4bf74f06.zip
If nobody responds I will go back to the stock recovery and try again.
I'm averaging 3 reboots/hangs a day on FRF83...
i have the same issue... i cant update from frf83 that is installed. i am getting OTA updates and nitifications but adter reboot its frf83 again, i too have a custom revovery and i dont know how to go back to stock
Any luck with solving this?
Have you tried this perhaps?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=710519
I simply backed up and did a clean kang-o-rama install
Hi all,
I have rooted n1 with FRF50 and spent this day trying to update it to FRF91.
First, the normal update doesn't work (because I have modified recovery mode probably, not sure) returning some errors with signatures.
So I tried to find a rooted update from FRF50 to FRF91. First I found FRF50 to FRF83 which worked well, but could not find any update from FRF83 to FRF91 (only FRF85B to FRF91, but no FRF83 to FRF85B).
Then, I found such update but it made my phone not work (ddms reported problems with a2sd and then some exception in sh).
I reverted it now to FRF50 and applied FRF50-FRF91 that I found. This update worked, but my Build Number according to Settings is still FRF50 so it probably did not apply.
*) the link where I found FRF50-FRF91 - http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-install-android-2-2-froyo-frf91-on-nexus-one/
Any help with direct or indirect updates between FRF50 and FRF91 on rooted phone? (I can get it to FRF83, but not beyond). Thanks
Just looking through the first page would answer you.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=735871
emm.. the thread you linked just points at another thread in General section that is supposed to list "all available update.zip" - can't find such thread there, but the one I did find lists updates till FRF83 (and that's what I described above).
What I'm asking for here is the update from FRF50 to FRF91 and I cannot find one.
I guess I should repeat word by word, and this time in caps:
YOU HAVE CUSTOM RECOVERY, NO GOOGLE UPDATE WILL WORK ON IT, YOU NEED CUSTOM UPDATE FOR CUSTOM RECOVERY, OR YOU NEED TO FLASH STOCK RECOVERY BACK.
And I guess the following thread was too hard to find, only on 4th page of General forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=712983
The rest of instructions are in the first linked thread, excuse me for not copy-pasting them.
Laziness is a sin
Well, you did not have to help me with the part on why I cannot use the stock update
I just needed help with rooted FRF50 -> FRF91 and the link you gave (the Update.zip to flash with custom recovery) works great!
Thanks for help and sorry for upsetting you all
