Ok so I don't have internet at my house yet, I just have my phones 3g network... I'm thinking about buying a wireless wifi adapter for my xbox.. will that adapter pick up my wifi from my phone? Like will I be able to play online with my phones connection?

Confirmed. Use settings lg optimus s and softap Master

Confirmed. I use the LGOptimus S profile but I leave my setup method as Auto instead of softap. Usually tether an asus tf 101, a coby kyros 8127 and a nintendo dsi xl without an issue and no probs after going to v8.
Auto and auto normally works for me when connecting with a laptop or PC. when it's another Android phone I'm connecting I need to switch to optimus s, and auto.

Another (late) confirmation WiFi Tether works. Icing on the cake? No spontaneous reboots while tethered.

Bluetooth Tethering with LTE?

To HTC Vivid users on At&t I have a question, when you tether via bluetooth to a tablet what type of speeds are you getting on the tablet? This is assuming you have LTE turned on the Vivid.
I asked since I am looking for to switching to an LTE phone since At&t announced a soft cap for LTE users that have the old unlimited plan. So far on HSPA+ I am getting 1.5gb/sec via bluetooth. Wondering if it will be any different on LTE.

Unless you have a special Nexus with a built-in phone option, no. The Nexus isn't a phone.
It does wifi. And I use my phone as a wifi hotspot when I want to connect away form my home network.
Lol

I guess you didn't know that there is a GSM Nexus 7.... It uses the back hauled HSPA+ and will go to 2g/edge in poor signal areas.

In fact, on the GSM variant, there is an options for "only use 2g" the save battery.

Thanks, i can buy it now
Just wanted to confirm; there are actually 3G and an LTE version of the Nexus 7 out there. As to what dropofdreams2 said, there is an option on the 3G model to only use a 2G connection. The tablet will also switch over automatically when there is no 3G service available, or of the signal is too weak.
There is no LTE Nexus 7. It uses back hauled 3g known as HSPA+.

Nope. Each device behaves differently and every person uses theirs differently. The answer is that you will have to find out by doing it yourself.

OTG cable for Nexus 7

I am trying to find a working OTG cable for my Nexus 7 2013. If anybody knows of one please provide a link to Amazon. I am planning to hook up a ps3 controller to it.

Hey do you have that rooted? I have the 1st Gen Nexus 7 16gb wifi, & I was wondering is that all u need to get that setup? & is the OTG cable the same for yours as it is for mine?

You need an OTG which are cheap on amazon. You don't need to be rooted. If u are planning on a ps3 controller you need to have another cable that came with the ps3.

Thanks, actually I just did a quick search for myself so I would know exactly which one to get & which one not to get! Apparently there's a few pages about the OTG cable in regard to basically what you want to know as well as me! I seen ppl saying not to get the $2 cheap ass Chinese one.

Does daydream need to be active for MHL to work?

Just wondering. It asked me with another wire whether it wanted me to use daydream, but the current one I just got doesn't seem to work at all.

It thinks you're docked when you did mhl with the last wire, it could mean that your new wire is broke, the phone should sense SOMETHING phones that dont support mhl think mhl adapters are docks...
