Desire Mail and Calendar App on Froyo? - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone have a port of the Desire Mail and Calendar app for Froyo?
It is really my biggest complaint with the stock android. Since I really need and like the look/feel and additional functionality of the Desire mail and calendar for Exchange support.
Best of both worlds would be great, peformance and features of Froyo with cool mail/calendar and excellent exchange support of Desire.
Thanks

Nobody huh? People just love that crappy stock mail and calendar app that much?

[Q] FB widget for notifications?

I currently have the widget Blue Notify for Facebook notifications, which is ok I guess but instead of the FB notifications just going to the notification bar it would be much better if there was a widget like the Launcher Pro Plus Facebook newsfeed widget that just listed notifications, does anyone know of such a thing?
I'm contemplating just getting a RSS widget and using the RSS feed of FB notifications but that isn't a very elegant solution. I really wish Facebook would give their native Android app the love that it needs especially surrounding the news feed & notifications, plus not linking outside of the app to view certain things!
I wish they would design it like the iPhone app (yea I said that dreaded word here) I miss being able to filter out groups and just be able to see my friends and family updates again

Amen to that.
Just wish some of the features were ported over.

Its been a LONG TIME since Ive used an iJunk so I cant say that I remember the facebook app on it. What I can say is that (unfortunately) I did own a Motorola Backflip. I hated the phone, but the facebook widget on that phone was great. I havent seen it on any other phone, but would love to be able to use it on my Captivate. Does anyone know of a way?

How can I install the TouchWiz calendar in CM7?

I loved the calendar from when I was on stock, but switched to CM7 for obvious reasons. I cannot stand the calendar though and was hoping I could somehow get the TW one back. Anyone know how?
You can't. CM7 has differnt framework.

Damn I was afraid of hearing that. Do you know of any free calendar apps that are very simple like that one and have a dark UI?
Business Calendar was named the best android calendar application by Lifehacker.com.

Doesn't have a dark theme but it's a great app. The only one I could find in my quick search with a dark theme is Gemini Calendar:

It looks pretty slick, you'd have to try it out to see if you like it.
Thanks I'll check them out.

I second that recommendation, been using Business Calender for a few months now, and I love it.
However.. it's not free, is it?

prettiest twitter app + decent functionality?

Hi guys,
So I loved Twidroyd when Ubersocial hadn't messed it up. Now I've tried Plume and Tweetcaster which are too ugly for my liking. Also tried twicca which is sweet except for their system of notifying about tweets without downloading them first. Is there any way to get twicca to do that?
Or alternatively, an elegant twitter client or one with decent customizability in terms of appearance would be nice too.
Try fiddling with the Tweet Caster theme. Functionally rich and a great twitter client.

are there other options besides the 4 choices included in the app? couldn't find any on the market
Try Twicca
like i said, i hate the way twicca tells you about notifications without downloading the tweets mentioned.
plume seems second best to twidroyd so far. ubersocial just plain sucks
How about tweetdeck??

so you want it to tell you have a new mention and actually show the mention in the notification panel or something?
ive tried all the twitter clients and twicca is by far the overall best - atleast to me. it has the cleanest interface as it not being all cluttered with extra unneeded stuff on the screen and also being able to color code your followers is nice too. after twicca i would say tweetdeck would be in 2nd.
Those are pretty much it for Android twitter apps, gonna have to suck it up.. I personally use Twicca & Seesmic... Best bet is to learn how to develop apps and make one to your liking
i just use the twitter app?? it does everything fine.

i settled on plume premium. it works. what i meant was that it should have updated the app with the new tweets when it notifies me of updates, not wait for me to click on the notification, then load the app, then load the tweets.
plume premium comes close to what twidroyd used to be before ubersocial killed it. (damn you ubermedia)

I am fan of HTC mainly for their rich interface and beautiful widgets... I also switched from onex to ONE... I am very disappointed to see that notes, tasks and some other beautiful widgets are missing.
When I contacted HTC customer care, they are saying that widgets are available on ONE also. I dont understand.. any one knows more detail about this... Please tell me if there is any way to get those widgets on HTC ONe...
Thanks in advance

Alternative to google calender app or port from another device.

Hi can anyone port Xperia calender app to one plus one ? or will it work if one just backup from titanium backup and restore to one plus one? I kinda dislike the new google calender app. no 7 days view, no zoom, no week days. Anyone??
I use Today Calendar, looks like Google Cal but better in my opinion ?
Check out Today on play store. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.underwood.calendar_beta Best calendar in my opinion.
Try colornote. It's a note and calendar app with google sync.Btw it has not been "materialized" and adfree
+1 for Today Calendar.
You can also try Sunrise Calendar which is a personal favorite of mine. Features desktop apps and Facebook, Google, and Twitter integration so importing events is easy.
I'm not associated with Sunrise Calendar in any way.
Today calender
Acalendar
Try acalendar, good one with multiple calendar support and good widgets.
What does the pro version of today calendar offer extra, compared to the free version?

The free version is only a trial. Then you have to pay for the Pro version to keep using it.
