I know this is annoying but i unfortunately don't have time to search on how to do this.
my phone has been freezing up on me big time lately and im leaving for the weekend and need to flash a new rom on in asap. i know how to flash the rom from sd card, i just cant remember how to flash the radio.
ive already downloaded the cyanogen rom (froyo) and the radio files... do i flash the radio the same way as the rom? or do i have to from terminal??
sorry again for the redundant question, any help would be great.

Yo man,
Flash the radio first and follow what it tells you to do. Be Patient. then after it goes back into recovery again, flash the ROM. Then your done.

The better way to do it is to use fastboot to flash the radio.

Okay i am fully aware of how a forum works and how much i am going to get flamed for this. I really need to go to bed and it would be nice to not have to go find a new phone tomorrow.
I installed JFv1.41 perfectly fine, had the root running etc.
I went to install a Theme, i ran the update.zip...now my phone just gets stuck on the TMOBILE G1 screen...not the flashing droid.
I can boot into Home+Power and into Camera+Power
i have HARD SPL on my root, but it is named update_OG is there anyway i can execute that to fix my problem?

please can anyone help. Do i need to get a SD card reader and put a recover.img on it...i deleted it on accident because i am anuberchaun.
was the theme made for JF 1.41?
If not, that's why you are hanging on the screen.
What recovery do you have? Can you enable UMS from your recovery? If so, you can just copy a new rom and flash it.
If not, you need a memory card reader and put a new rom on it, then flash.
You are going to need to wipe obviously. I hope that goes without saying.
You should also condsider updating to a newer rom. You are still on RC33 with that I believe. Find a donut rom, like Dwang's. I would recommend you get the new Cyanogen, but that involves flashing more than one thing at a time, and I don't know if you will be able to do that without messing it up... No offense.
Okay so in my HARD SPL on boot, it says no IMAGE file. I have manually uploaded a image file to my SD's root folder. Why wont it see it?
Okay, im in deep. Last resort. Trying to reflash to rc29...only problem is it says not signature on 3 files. I definitely lost root. I using the stock rc29 though why wont it work? Maybe i have the wrong rc29 can anyone help?
Why would you flash a rom in fastboot? You were supposed to do it in your recovery. That's where you went wrong. You say you have rc29 now? Just reroot the phone then.
i cannot re root the phone because it will not get past the flash screen.
i didn't re-flash from fastboot, i did it in recovery. Ive tried re flashing a few times now. I am running jf v1.4 i can not go to any original rom, i also cannot find a DL for a OEM rom. I am trying to reflash to rc29 using the link found in at (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442480) the DREAMIMG.nbh file. I was assuming that was a stock ROM, but when i try to reflash to that it says 3 files (no signature)....i was under the impression stock ROM's did not require ROOT access to flash.

well i tried to install the hero 2.1 rom and i have the android system recovery utility build: JKv1.41 and it doesnt apply the update right nor does it wipe and factory update i just reboot and it shows the g1 sign goes off and starts recovery again can someone please help!!!!!!!
You are not bricked
If you can get to the recovery image, then you are not bricked. You can flash a different rom to get your phone back to where you want it to be. Or you can restore your nandroid backup (if you made one) from the recovery.
Which recovery image are you using? What ROM are you flashing from?
Do you already have the Danger SPL and new radio needed for a Hero ROM?
go to recovery, go to console, type in ums_enable, put a different rom onto your sd card, wipe your phone, and flash the rom.
hopefully you got your phone back to working order.
Are you trying to flash hero without the Danger SPL? Only reason i can think of why it wouldn't flash.

when I type in ums_enable its says not found
Then flash the recovery in my sig.
I was beak bootloader using fastboot. Everything was ok then i try to use miui and CM kernel.

You don't need S-off to flash a kernel you just need a custom recovery. Flash Amon Ra or clockwork mod 2.X and then try and flash the kernel through recovery.
I'm using clockmod recovery. i can't flash a new kernel through recovery too. what can i do now? please help me.

Why can't you flash a new kernel? Does it come up with any errors? There shouldn't be anything preventing it unless the download is corrupt, or it isn't for your phone.
My files is not corrupt. If these file corrupt i can't unzip in windows. When i'm flash a new kernel everthing is notice done well and a ROM too. But nothing happened.
I don't know if my phone or is a reason in this case. Actually this is my phone.
So, it seems like it flashes, but it actually doesn't? Or you try to flash it and it errors out?

The only way to tell that your flash worked is to check your kernel version in Settings -> About Phone. Otherwise, there isn't much of a difference.

I was able to do everything except install the hboot0013d.zip; it kept on comping up saying to many firmware found & wasn't able to store hboot.

I tried installing cyanogenmagpie but that wont work; the phone is stuck in a loop where the t-mobile g1 logo comes up for about 2 minutes then it resets; Idk what to do

did you wipe the device? try flashing ohsaka superwipe than flash the hboot file..
following ldrifta's advice, I was able flash the hboot file and flash the cm7 magpie rom. It took for a while but it booted. Now the problem is that the rom wont let the phone part of the phone work. I keep on getting a force close about the phone & messaging once i boot it. I'm sorry for all the problems guys, any help would be appreciated again
that sounds like its the rom... try another rom lol if you still have the same issue than your sim card may be messed up, happened to me before. just out of nowhere it stopped working..
ps. make sure you wipe system, data, cache and sd-ext each time before flashing roms...

No, it is not necessary. What Radio & SPL you have now (you can see it when turn on you phoneby pressing the buttons Camera+Power)
Right now I cannot boot...I can get into recovery and load up a new rom(onto the sd)...I guess...(put one on the sd and flash...) Could you point me to a 2.2 rom I can flash and specific instructions as far as what to wipe...

you cant get into recovery? so what happens when you press and hold home+power?
