Have you taken to drinkin or something?

I'm assuming you have seen the Ong Bak and similar Tony Jaa films?
How about some Samurai films? The Twilight Samurai? Zatoichi?
Are you interested in good films with just one fight, or films where the fights scenes are the reason for the film (ie several fights)?
Good stories and acting? Or just fight scenes?

let me think..... karate kid with Jackie chan in it?
thats the most recent one i can think of...
good luck

What is the best movie you have ever seen?

Yesterday I was about to die; laughing when I saw the movie blades of glory (I know a lot from here want me dead, for sure muscle and maybe flar; it will not be so long believe me)
I like to watch lot movies, esp. funny ones, I like serious funny movies, like pulb fiction, Forest Gump, crossing guard(Jack Nicholson); I think it is very funny make you cry,
Recently the funny movies are not good for example epic movies not as good as scary movie the first releases, and American pie is now adult movie more than funny one, an adult movie for kids.
I did like some new movies departed for example, it maybe Jack Nicholson but I think it is a good one.
My best movie is 5 easy pieces for Jack Nicholson is it played a part of my life.
I showed my friends a movie called my life (the funny part we were crying and no one of my friends want to admit that, but someone cried loud, when turn the light on all was crying, me included) there are a lot of movies make you cry, shine for example when I opened the light my cousin was crying, a lot to count.
When I was young I did see some movies so the best was a little, but now I have a lot of best, I maybe forget some movies if I want to count if someone named it I'll say yes it is a good one.
Now my friend gave me about 20 DVD of great movies I didn't see. I picked the first one, I did see it but I don't know its name, the others I saw till now are new ones.
I saw some good Spanish movies (in English 'Talk to her', and others I don't know their names, one for feeble guy because of diving wanted to suicide), French movies, German Movies, Arabic عمارة يعقوبيان.
And of course Beethoven Movie and Chopin desire for love, Amadeus; movies about great guys
I love classical comedies in B&W like:
To be or Not to be. 1942. Ernest Lubitch
Arsenic and Old Lace. 1944. Frank Capra
Duck Soup. 1933. Leo McCarey... (I love most of the Marx Brothers' movies)
The Philadelphia Story. 1940. George Cukor.
This kind of stuff...
Man on Fire!
it like I talk too much, and I wanted it to be so short, didn't mentioned a lot of movies. I like a lot
I like old classic movie too, my old nickname was from french movie paradis
even I missed my best movie in my post
Five Easy Pieces (1970) Jack Nicholson
thanks for replying
The Boondock Saints.
Gone In 60 Seconds.
Saving Private Ryan.
the org german silent nosferatu
is pretty cool
that bramstokers dracula got much of the
shadow play ideas from that org movie
uhh....
Mel Brooks is the man! I really enjoyed Robin Hood:Men In Tights
oh, and Monty Python and the Holy Grail deserves a special mention.
More serious movies; Behind Enemy Lines
Bram Stoker's Dracula is great, Man on fire too.
For me Underworld and UltraViolet rocks (yeah Milla is that cool)
and of course everything from Monty Python !
...fear and loathing in las vegas
....and all (trashy) japanese Godzilla movies - i love them !
Mel Brooks's history of the world is his best imho
Monty Python and the Holy Grail is marginaly worse the life of brian which is my fav python movie
i also like most movies with gary oldman

He was exposed to radiation in some way that changed his "composition" He can be as large or small as he chooses, can be material or not. He became almost like a god, but one who doesn't actually give a crap about creation. This is not your regular superhero story. The good guys aren't always good and the bad guys aren't always bad. I just hope the filmmakers don't mess too much with the story.
sounds intense, trailer is awsome -- cant wait for the movi, i believe its coming out in Imax 2
The closest IMAX theatre to me is about 2 hours away...It sucks.
Guys read this graphic novel. It is phenomenal. I can't wait for this movie. I just hope it is half as good as the comic.
PS Philip K. **** wrote those scifi books.
Favorite Movie = Children of Men

sci-fi: The last starfighter

Because there is no room for comedians anymore unless they are profane, loud, or obnoxious. Unless its Steve Carell or Will Ferrell.
I can't believe some people have listed action films and not listed my two "naughty favourites":
Luc Besson's Taxi, and Roadhouse.
Watching Taxi is great, watching it while thinking "how did they film that?" is even more amazing. Roadhouse, well who hasn't wanted to be either of the coolers in it?!?
As for Watchmen, will definitely be dragging the wife to it!
or even steve martin

I'll probably see this movie when it comes out as well. Anyhow, as for now, I think Taken is a must. Saw it yesterday on my Tilt and it's one of the best movies i've seen of late.

Cool movie, bro

I've been getting my money's worth out of my netflix account lately and I've come across some very obscure but pretty good/interesting movies and I thought there might be one or two other people here who enjoy good movies
Share em if you got em but please no blockbusters, they get enough attention.
Interesting and Unique Movies:
INK
Visioneers
Revolution OS
Gabriel
Serenity
Right At Your Door
Deadline
Food INC
*edit- Part of the OP is obviously easy to overlook, please let me reiterate:
Please no blockbusters, they get enough attention.
The goal here is to expose some great obscure movies that most of us may not have heard of before.
Thanks
Entropy is my favorite movie.

Also, Comedian was a great movie.

Bladerunner. Best movie ever.
netflix movies
The box, and the skeleton key are both movies related to TV shows like twilight zone and tales from the crypt but with hotter women leads.
Loved Serenity but the marketing of it was not up to the movie itself. It should have been a blockbuster.

I had no idea that firefly existed before I watched serenity, was a little confused!#
But after watching that, and then watching again, it made for very good entertainment. Definately would recommend it to most people.
(Random side note - I used to play a game called EVE, I thought there were a few, not loads, of similarities between the two.)
If you're into reading films, I enjoyed "La Haine" as well, but that is getting on a bit now.
Thanks for the input guys! I look forward to watching some new (to me) movies.

Very dark but somehow not depressing.
Who knows what the solution might be but I have said for years that the earth has too damn many people on it.

Best stoner movie ever?

IMO I think it's gotta be Friday.
Plus this is way too funny:
"Weed is from the earth. God put this here for me and you. Take advantage man, take advantage. "
Cheech & Chong - Things Are Tough All Over.
"People say it was the drugs that killed Elvis man. But it wasn't the drugs, it's looking for them. Keeps you up all night!"

I would have to agree with how high because it reminds of a very stupid story that did involve me being stoned.
I had just got my very first dvd player had never used or watched a dvd before this one. I borrowed How High from one of my buddys after a night of heavy smoking. I got home and put the film on, now some how without realising I had put on directors comentery, a feature I did not know existed. I proceded to watch the entire film feeling very dazed and confused about what was happening.

If you like those old Eastwood westerns then you should definitely watch the Old samurai films they are based off, especially ones directed by Akira Kurosawa. Also Harikari (1962) is a good one. Plus the more recent Samurai Trilogy: The Twilight Samurai, Hidden Blade, and Love & Honor
