Android App Market problems - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm currently running CM6-RC1, and I was trying to download google earth, and it doesnt seem to come up in the market.
is there a compatibility problem when running CM6?? i checked the about section of the phone and it said that I was running Android 2.2 build FRF91, so that shouldn't be a problem right?anyone know of any fixes?

Works fine for me.....did you wipe data/cache/etc?

Can't use G. Maps Navigation after Cyanogen upgrade!

All, I am still running 4.2.5 on rooted Magic. I tried upgrading a while back but found that I had to re-flash the Navigation piece i downloaded here. For some reason it is still failing to show up, even after clearing cache and rebooting.
Am I missing something. The instability of 4.2.5 is starting to get to me...
Thanks
Why not upgrade to 4.2.12.2?
Also if you're in the US you can download the Google Maps update to get navigation without flashing anything.

Because I loose Navigation. The idea was to re-flash after updates but hasn't worked for me. My phone is rooted, I can't download Google Maps from the market.
if your phone is rooted the market should still work just fine... I run CyanMod 4.2.12.2 on my MyTouch fine, after my last flash i popped up market and updated google maps. Nav works great (you'll need the svox stuff for the voice commands but it'll walk u through that)
I had the same problem. On mine I had to download a newer 1.6 base, flash that, then flash Cyano's latest and greatest. There was something different about the older zip that would mess everything up. the filename is DRC83_base_defanged.zip Hope this helps.
did the same as above, the old 1.6 will not allow you to instal the new google maps

In order to use Google Nav, here's what you need to do, if this doesn't work then, I don't know, re-root or something.
I'm assuming your using a Mytouch (32B), but if not go here and follow the directions for 32A
1. Download the HTC Android 1.6 base image - here
2. Then download the latest CyanogenMod - Here
3. Then after backing up your SD and then wiping everything from it, put those two zip files on your SD, then flash them - being sure to flash DRC83_base_defranged first, then flash the CyanogenMod.
4. Go to the market and download the Maps update in the market. Also you'll need to install all the tts and voice stuff that goes along with Maps after you open it.
If that doesn't work, then I'm not sure.
Same for me. I was pretty bummed when I rooted and realized I had no access to Labs for Google Maps.
Solution was just to go to the market and get the update for Maps. Now everything is right in the world again.

nexus one market issues, PLEASE HELP :(

i recently noticed when i try to download any app from the android market or update an app it will act like its starting the download but then never actually start it. im running the latest cyanogen rom. i have tried wiping and reflashing the latest cyanogen rom and reflashing the google apps addon. i have tried restoring to a previous backup when the apps were working in the market. i have tried flashing a non cyanogen rom even. nothing i can think of (my thoughts are limited since im fairly new at all this) and still no success. i had the same problem on my g1 with cyanogen and i somehow managed to get that working again by trying similar things but no luck yet with my nexus one and its really upsetting me. any ideas on how i can go about fixing this? thanks for all your help. i have also tried uninstalling the market updates and signing into other google apps like talk to try and jump start it on the advice of someone from another forum.

[Q] App's

I have a Streak 7 with android 2.2.2 on it. And rooted.
I cant seem to download some app's.
Facebook, messenger, and a few more.
This doesn't make since.
Can someone help?
Have you tried the Amazon App store?
I have the same problem. Apps that say they are compatible and that I installed on my ZTE Blade and Mid7 tab won't install on the Streak. Trying to install Lookout and WiFi Sync Manager.
Anyone got any ideas on this one. I could find the apks and force install but would prefer to do it through the market

Those should all work on 2.2.2. Try clearing cache and data on your Market and starting fresh (Home---> Menu---> Settings---> Applications---> Manage Applications---> All---> Market---> Force Stop, Clear Cache, Clear Data; restart and open your Market). Doesn't affect anything and it's worth a shot.
Did you flash 2.2.2 rooted, or root 2.2.2? If the above doesn't work, you may have a corrupted Market. If that's the case, download the new Market apk here:

Tried the market reset, no difference, then installed the new market and still no difference. I have a new streak 7 with 2.2.2 installed and rooted using gingerbreak.

I just tried installing the Facebook app on 2.2.2 (Streakdroid 1.3), and had no issues with it. Unless someone has a better idea, I would recommend doing one of the following:
1. Install via the web based market.
2. Load up ClockworkMod Recovery (via ROM Manager; available in the market) and flash a new ROM. I'd go with Streakdroid if you don't need WiFi, stock/rooted 2.2.2 if you do.
Sounds like you got a bad update, but I can't say for sure. If you install a custom ROM and still have no luck, it may be something specific to your Google account (though I should think that would be far less likely than something being wrong with your particular firmware on your S7).

App not working with version

I had stock gingerbread on phone, now I cannot install certain apps since we are so far behind in the game. Went to promethius and found out that they are 2.3.5, is there a way to trick store to try and download something?

You can just download the app on your PC and transfer it to your phone and install it. There is a reason they don't allow you to download apps meant for later versions though. So don't expect them to work properly if you do so. Also, you may want to look for earlier version of the application instead of downloading the latest from the market as the earlier ones may be compatible with Gingerbread, but lack new features and bug fixes the newer versions will have. Hope this helped.

Google Maps Crashes

Having crash problems on both my Samsung Galaxy 8.9 tablets (one on CM 10.2 and the other CM 11.0). Seems to be triggered when I zoom in. Past a certain point I get the, "Unfortunately, Maps has stopped".
Just seems to have happened with the new Maps. Versions. 9.0.0 and 9.1.0 both crash. I have cleared data and cache and re-installed to no avail.
Tried installing a downloaded 8.4.1 but it wouldn't install.
Anyone else with this? Cause??

I installed Liquidsmooth v3.2 Milestone + Figue Kernel v11 and pico pa_gapps, following instructions from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal.../roms-kernels-nameless-kasper-kernel-t2937458
I haven't installed jolinnard's latest kernel, yet. I'm still running the LS one. After that I installed maps from the playstore and it seems to work fine so far. It just popped up the playstore and asks me to install the latest version of the play services, which I haven't done yet. Not sure, if it will still work after that. Other people have complained about gmaps crashes as well. Maybe it's worthwile trying LS?
