I've just bricked G1 yesterday night, ( Hangs on bootscreen, no recovery no bootloader option )
Tried everything and;
I think only solution is programming with JTag.
Found these things.

But it seems expensive way :/
Has anyone know cheaper alternatives?
Have you had a look here? http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=HTC_Dream
Be aware that it is rather advanced, and may require access to electronic equipment that most do not have, ( soldering irons, components, good electronics knowledge), but is practically free.

This is the page you wanted to link to.
Thanks for replies but,
I think first have to find out cheaper JTag Kit.
Or someone can repair it for me who lives in Noord-holland/Netherland.
Regards,
You should check around locally, I know for a fact that where I live, in the USA there are a lot of people who own JTAG equipment. This might sound strange, but look around for people who do computer repairs or even Xbox/PS3 repairs, often they own JTAG equipment and can help you for a modest cost.
I think G1 is completely death.
Better solution is:
A SledgeHammer

And the result...
Fixed Succesfully
Update:
I bought a crashed G1 and replaced the mainboard ( T-Mobile G1 )
Now...
Downgraded and waiting.
I will not install DangerSPL which kills mine G1 before.
What should I do?
Update2:
CyanogenMod-6 Installed succesfully.

I just got this phone as a gift a month and a half ago, and somehow, just somehow the screen got cracked in my pocket. Everything still works fine, phone works great as always, but the screen is all messed up.
I went to a local Telus store, and they said they don't do repairs on physical damage which is stupid IMO. And I think the warranty my brother paid for might be up, he's not sure. And even so, I'm almost positive they'll say the warranty doesn't cover physical damage. The guy said my only hope would be to look for a 3rd party company online that can do repairs.
I tried looking around for a Screen/Digitizer Repair Kit for telus online, but they only had some for the sprint model of the phone. I know they're the same, but the screen shapes are clearly different.

Replacement LCD
Hi. Have a look on ebay. I would recommend you buy a complete LCD and digitiser pre-assembled in one unit... These typically cost around £35 UK pounds when bought from sellers in Hong Kong. You will need a set of jewellers screw drivers (mini torx drivers), and a set of tweezers. Also, would recommend downloading a Service Manual for the Diamond if you have never taken one apart before (you can find this with Google). You need to be very careful though, because there are two small black coaxial cables inside the device that carry the GPS, bluetooth/wifi signals from the upper antenna board to the lower motherboard. These are very easily damaged and it is difficult to locate replacements. I've changed a few LCDs in the past and it is relatively easy if you are careful and methodic about taking the device apart. If you are unsure, I would recommend finding a third party replacement service on the internet to do it for you....
i was seen one of your post. my diamond screen was broken and i get it to a serviceman. after he replace its touchscreen i lost my wifi, gps , bluetooth and phone microphone. can you help me to repair it? thanks alot
My X1 met with an accident before six months, which left one part of the slider loose compared to the other, and the screen broke and i have a spider web kinda crack on one part of the screen.
I've gone to three service centers till date and all of them told me that they do not have the spare parts and have to import it from god damn knows where.
I sent a mail to x1support also, but no reply.
What are the other options i have to get my phone repaired? People from India, please reply
India is not the only country to have lazy Sony support. I guess you will have to wait for the X2. Sorry if I am not being helpful but I have bad experiences with Sony in many parts of Asia and Europe. In many 'third world' countries they are more geared up to service TVs, DVD recorders, and audio systems (even laptops) but just do not have the expertise for high-end phones.
sigh... i think i will go back to the java based Sony ericsson phones. atleast i got good support.
Se service is pathetic
Hi,
Icompletely agree on this pathetic service by SE. I am from India. I have been haveing some problem with my xi lately. I went to Se service centre for getting the phone repaired as it was stuck in the headset mode. I was told that it has happened because of some liquid geting in the mother boardand we will have to check with the head office and after some fifteen days later when i get my phone, the slider key board is loose and i can not type through this propery. When i told them they are saying it was like that only. very irresponsible answer. One this is for sure that this is going to be my last SE phone and I will make sure that people around my dont get into the same trap and dont buy any of these SE phones. Pathetic is the only word for their service. Infact I am planning to sell this phone off and get another NON SE phone.
Yes it is lol. I know of only one person that was completely content with their srvices. I guess it was a fluke, or a competent clerk (fired sooon aftert that lol).....
i bet you had to wait so long because they keep all the spare parts in korea incase their korean customers get a crack or something because they are the most important people.

LOL (no aircraft in this post)
I hope my grave mistake will be a lesson for those who decide to open the phone.
Long story short - ALWAYS, ALWAYS check the SD card slot before disassembling the phone. I forgot to do that and left the card in (I intended to replace the housing), and as a result, I have the slot cracked open. Now all my attempts to find a repair shop which can put it back together failed and the phone worths zero.
Now I am wondering whether anybody here can help me fix it. The problem is I cannot find any schematics of the SD card slot to put the spring and the other part back (I actually do not have any instruments except small screwdrivers and tweezers). If there is such a great guy who can do that, I will gladly pay him or her (I can mail the motherboard and parts together with a check that will cover mailing it back to me).
Here are the pictures of what happened and what was inside the slot:

and
Man, I feel for that damage =\
If I didn't lived in such a far place as Brazil, I would try to fix your phone.
My Wizard is disassembled, and right now, all I could see is that the spring goes on right side, as staring the motherboard on the first pic.
I'll take some macro shots here and try to help you.
Good luck and cheers

Thank you for your kind words, man! Yes, any hint will help - I have no idea how that little cog is attached (and if it's not bent).
deleted as doubled
Sorry for asking for help again!
Does anyone know where to get the schematics of push-pull SD card slot? I wanna try fixin it myself, its just that cog that bothers me.
Another possibility would be to buy a drive for lets say, netbooks, and either solder it to the MB, or carefully disassemble to see what's inside. The question is - where to buy such part?
Thanks in advance to everybody!
Just this morning I broke my nexus's screen. After I was finished crying about it I called up HTC and they said they would replace the screen for a price or I could send it back, they would need a credit card on file, but they would replace it for free since its still under warranty. My problem is, my bootloader is unlocked and I'm rooted. I told them on the phone that I would think about it and call them back, got a case number and all that. I didn't want to tell them about my bootloader because I thought they would write it down and hold it against me. My question is, if I send it back to them and they see the bootloader is unlocked will they charge me for another phone instead of replacing it for free since I voided the warranty by rooting it? Or is my hardware warranty still valid? Also would it be risking it sending it back with an unlocked bootloader for an exchange? or should I just get the screen replaced?
Thanks!
Btw this is how the horrible accident looks

Have you ever tried the search button? This has been discussed SOOOOO many times already. I personally have had 2 phones swapped out with HTC, both with unlocked bootloaders. I received replacement phones with no charge to my card.
I used the search button, but none of the topics answered my question directly, most of them just talk about having a 3rd party replace there screen or their screen had dust and HTC replaced it due to a hardware defect by them. I even asked the guys at android central, they never gave me a clear answer. Thanks for you're answer tho, I was looking for someone with a personal experience of swaps
oh my god that poor nexus!! *cries*
anyways what he means is that HTC has been known to look past the bootloader and replace it for free if youre still under warranty. its like they dont really care we are doing what we are doing

be prepared to pay for the screen... cracked screens are not covered under warranty bootloader locked or otherwise..
Hello xda-developers,
I have a problem with my Samsung Galaxy mini. The problem is that its screen is scratched (I really don't know how did this happen). Does anyone have any idea to make them disappear? Here is a picture of my phone.

Hello guys,
Thanks for your replies. I realised that I need to change the front cover of my phone. I can find one from ebay but the problem is that I don't know how to do that. I heard that it is dangerous to damage your phone. Can somebody suggest a site where I can get more information about that? Thanks in advance.
any mobile accessories shop owner will replace it
It costs too much!
Well I went to the samsung service and he needs 50 euros! It's too expensive can you suggest any other idea?

i'm sure that google will help you with finding needed info
according to Indian price it should only cost 2-4 euros
I think I'm going to fix it by another way.
I asked another service about it and he needs 35 euros. Well it's still expensive and I am afraid I will not fix it. If you guys can tell me another idea otherwise I'll give it up.
I really hate those scratches, they are so annoying.
just use some whitening toothpaste and microfibre cloth, rub small amount of toothpaste on the scratch in circular motion. it will take a lot of time, but i assure you that it will work. and it have to be microfibre.
Hm I'll try that but will this do any damage on my phone's screen?
Sent from my GT-S5570 using xda app-developers app
It didn't work.
I tried to remove the scratches with toothpaste but it didn't work.
I am gonna do that by myself.
I am gonna risk it and change the front cover of my phone by myself. I've seen videos on youtube on how to do it so I think if I follow carefully the instructions on how to do it I'll succeed.
Thanks for your help guys!
