Hi! For me, the gameloft games doesn't work. The install was Ok, but when i put the phone in airplane mode, open the game, when it should must download the files, it's writing, that there isn't enough free space on sd. I have an 16 GB sd and the boult in sd with 5.78 GB free... I don't understand it.
I Tried with Nova and Sandstorm, I downloaded the sandstorm.rar from ----------, installed the game, opened it, but it's writing, that there's missing some files, i clicked to download those file, and It's writing, that the free spaces on my sd is less, than 1 mb... My free spaces are 5.78 Gb and 7.3 Gb. I saw on the settings/sd, that I can't mount/unmount the boult in sd. It worked before JP2. Now it's missing. Any idea ?

I have a 4 gig sd card with it partioned ext2,ext3, and a linux swap. To be honest I don't know really what that means exactly, just followed the tutoriul to have my apps to go to my sd card. When I go to sd storage info it says.
Total space- 3,255mb Available space 1,875 mb.
Under Sd card secondary it says Total space- 457mb Available space- 292mb
For Internal phone storage it says 78mb available.
My question is where are my apps actually going? And where does my other stuff such as music, movies and other files go? From what i am guessing I have 1875mb for files and 292mb for apps. Correct? Thanx in advance for explaining this too me.
It should be fat32, ext3, linux-swap. 78 megs sounds right for apps2sd. Your apps go to ext3 along with your cache, movies and other files you can browse on your phone go to your fat32which is your normal storage and swap is a location where your phone puts operating memory to hold more processes in the background(helps out you ram)

I doubt everybody here knows exactly every technical detail and aspect about their phones. In addition I knew I was partioning my sd card just wanted to understand where all my files were going. I have successfully rooted my phone the old fashion way and installed numerous roms and themes after many hours of reading and following directions in these forums. I'm sorry i am not expert in linux or coding. All I asked was for some information of the subject, if you can't help then don't post. Thanks gridlock for your answer.

2. i have deleted the boot and the recovery and i couldn't install them, because my phone don't see my SD card...
BUT: when i put a DREAIMG.NBH file and try to install it through the fastboot, it is seen by the system and it starts to install the rom, but there appears an error, that it's wrong device ID of my phone... please somebody, help me

Might have a dead/faulty sdcard slot,old parts tend to fail.
ok what you have to do now is download this program called paragon partition manager jus google it n it should be the first link., after downloading the manager open it n locate ur sd card (also u do need a sd card adapter so make sure u have the one tht came with the phone or any onther in this case.,) after u have located the card patition it., to do this u have to choice how much space u want for ur ext 2 ., i choice about 300 to 350mb range leaving me with about 3.6gb left for my personal use., after u choice the amount u want for ur ext 2 start the partition it should be a few mintues., after tht put the memory card into ur phone check if it works., i did this same procedure n worked jus fine for me., hope this helps you out., if not post back the problem.,

i gave you a few specific instructions last time....
first, repartition the card (using paragon, or a ubuntu live CD) if it doesnt work then you
can try a fresh format on another SD card... if niether work then you just have a faulty slot (assuming you are on a stable/Stock rom that you know works)
and YES FASTBOOT can recognize a card while the rest of the phone wont(personal experience), dont ask me to explain it, but if you had even read my last post in your other thread youd have know that......
your G1 is probaly just old.... get over it.... it was always intended as a Beta/Dev device....

I am the proud owner of an LG Optimus 2X Speed.
It has an internal SD card. If you mount your own SD it is mounted under //mnt/sdcard/_ExternalSD. How can I install apps to the external SD?
App2SD won't work. It just copies apps from flash to internal SD. (so //mnt/sdcard/).

My recommendation, which will give you more than you can use:
* apps to internal
* External app data to /sdcard
* Multimedia, roms, backups etc /ExternalSD
Some apps don't yet recognise /ExternalSD as a legitimate location so hassle the devs, it's standard Android (now).
Well, the main problem is the maps from CoPilot Live. The Europe maps can't be downloaded since they are too big. I would like to have them on the ExternalSD. This may be going beyond the scope of the original question, but since that's the main reason I'm asking it would be appreciated...
So, how can I make Copilot Live download to the External SD? Or can't you make some symlink so that the apps can be on External SD but Android thinks they're on internal ?

The easiest way around this probably is to contact the app dev and ask him to implement a way users can select where to grab those files from.
I wonder how this issue was resolved with the Galaxy S, didn't that one have an internal SD too?

Yes, the above answer is correct. It's not just the easiest way, it's the best way.
I realise it's a practical problem for you but via the dev is the only way really. They should be quicker (especially for paid apps!) because this "issue" (internal SD) has been around since what, May last year...
Until we get a custom kernel it can't be solved (except via dev) and even with a custom kernel that re-mapped everything I'd be very hesitant to do this, it will break standard stuff I'm sure.

I'm by no means an expert with Android, but I've been using UNIX since working at Bell Labs in the mid-70s and I've used the link command to "fool" many a UNIX app. As it happens, you could use the same command "ln" to do the same. Just create a directory on ExternalSD and ln that one into the directory tree at the desired "mount" point. For CoPilot, that would probably be /SD/copilot/EU, SA, NA, etc. It should work fine since CoPilot almost certainly cannot "see through" this link - that, while possible, would be a true violation of standards.
I've done something similar with Android to put application cache space in one place on the SD mount-point. See here -> androidcommunity dot com/forums/f4/updated-move-caches-to-sd-card-11167 for details (I haven't done enough posts to be able to post a link). Just use a variation on this method to put the copilot maps where you have space. This worked for every app I tried it with.

I found a application Move2SD Enabler (root only) but I guess is work only for Froyo. I whant to install on my Galaxy S Plus ( i9001) but it's not compatible with device.
On my galaxy S Plus all aps in moved on internal sd card ( //mnt/sdcard ) not on my external sd card .

I did install GL to SD, and it is working for me with GAMELOFT games, it is working perfectly, but how can I use this app with any other application and game that I install and it is located on internal SD card?

I have a Dell Streak 7 (T-Mobile version) 3.2 Honeycomb, installed via "[Guide]New HC Rom: 506/507 + Installation Instructions [Including US 4G]". Everything works great, except I have run out of application space.
I have over 11 gigs free, but with 3.2 you can't install anything on the internal SD, or external SD for that matter. I bought 32gig SD cards to store files, I want all the internal storage for Applications and settings.
How can I make the internal storage be one large data partition or at least increase the data partition size, while decreasing the internal SD size.
And for how I ran out, the free apps from Google and Amazon. I have about 200 from the Amazon Free App A Day promotion alone.

My suggestion to you is to flash DJ Steve's HoneyStreak using the NVFlash method. Inside the folder he allows for up to a 6GB app partition if you wanna take it that far... as far as I know of that's the only way to repartition your internal SD.
Create backups of all those apps, create backup of everything on your internal sd because the process is going to wipe everything, and then reinstall and copy back

Did you not read my post, THAT is the easiest solution... I can't think of any way to install 6 gigs of apps, but some people just don't know when to quit installing without realizing what it does to the OS... and even that can be modified if you know how to configure the specific sectors of the internal SD, but I have no experience with that

I'm with you man but I get so frustrated by the noobs that don't realize the reason they were given the option to install to SD in the first place... back in those days when it was necessary and apps were actually coded to run well off an external SD it was ok, but they don't understand that most apps these days prohibit it for many reasons, they just demand too much to run off the external SD and they don't seem to wanna use their brains and wrap their heads around the idea that there's no sense in having hundreds of apps installed... hopefully within the next year those types will either move to the iPhones they should be using because they have no business using a flexible android device or they will frustrated and get talked into buy a brokenglass (windows) phone

This is what I ended up doing
From the CWM recovery I created a ext3 partition on my SD Card and use Link2SD from market.

To resize the partition later I had used GParted from a linux live CD.
Honeystreak partition method
I wanted to test a theory on this myself. So I will start with saying I am running 3.2 official with 514(rooted). I use 514 to be able to use my dock. Love me or hate me.
1) I did a nandroid backup on my sd card. I used my app backup tool to backup my apps just in case.
2) I flashed Honeystreak R2 using NVFLASH.
3) I then placed Honeystreak R8 on my sd card with the text file as instructed. and then installed the zip using CWM.
4) I then fastbooted the latest (and greatest) CWM 5.0.2.8
5) Then booted CWM 5.0.2.8 and flashed my Nandroid Backup.
6) CHA-CHING!!!!
I was able to keep the 4 GB partition that was created using the Honeystreak R2 NVFLASH.
This is tested and it works so you can get up to 6GB using this method.
According to Titanium, I have 13.2 MB free on my System Rom memory. Seems to me that is low and could cause problems.
I have not proactively taken any action, up to now, to put any apps on the SD. However, I just went into manage apps, found many that won't allow it, but did move a couple, totaling around 5MB, but it did not change the reading in Titanium. I just kicked off a full backup, thinking maybe it won't update until I do that.
At any rate, anyone have any thoughts, suggestions, comments or recommendations?
No it will not make any problems. When you moved apps, you move user apps stored on /data/apps to /mnt/.It is talking about the /system partition of the phone. Don't worry about it.
That shouldn't be a issue ROM means Read Only Memory if i remember right, so that shouldn't change to much (except when flashing a new rom). Apps are in the "internal" as to TiBU.
