I just injected Indonesia Telkom Provider number into my HTC Hero CDMA (previously Sprint)
All setup setup seems are correct, I can make and receive call and also send and receive SMS.
The problem are when received SMS, on the sender number, number "0" changed to character "D", for example 017760540 become D1776D54D.
I can't reply this sms directly before change the number to the correct number.
All problem happened with all type of ROM (Original or Custom).
Anybody can help me on this.
Regards
Samuel

Hi all!
I have a huge problem distinguish what number I receive SMS from, when I receiving it from a person with multiple phone numbers. I.e. if I receive a SMS from John Doe who has two mobile numbers, it will only show his name, and not what number it is from. This is a problem when I'll try and answer the message later, and then maybe he has switched phones (work/private phone). The solution can't be sending a message to both phones?
I also experience problems sending SMS to the second number, 'cause the main number is the only one listed as a number i can send SMS to, and not the work number...?
Is this a huge flaw, or is it only me?
TIA!
And how do you see this contact in your contact list?
1 contact - 2 numbers
2 contacts with the same name - different number
?
The contact is listed as 1 name with 2 numbers (mobile number, and work number).
So, is there any other solution to this than going back to the 90's, and make two entries for the contact?
*bump*

Having the same issues....
I got a strange problem on my MDA Vario IV (HTC touch Pro). have got most of my contact numbers stored without the ISD code ..so typically looks like 07932******. Now when I receive a call it shows the contact name /or pic. But any text message shows only the number and comes up as +447932******. So I changed the contact number to read +447932******. But guess what ? the text display works fine, but the caller ID for incoming call now does not show the contact name..jus the number.. Anybody come across this?
Thanks
B
hi
well my friend, i am also experiencing the same problem you have described...exactly the same way you have described it...hopefully someone will advice us a it more on this issue. i changed roms but that problem is this here.
Here's an interesting thing that's happening with my Cappy. I live in Brazil and have one specific carrier as my carrier of choice, let's call it Carrier A.
For some reason my the SMSs my wife send me do not get grouped together with the ones I send and she's from Carrier A as well. Now here's the facts:
- On the contacts, my wife's number is 0418862xxxx (italics is the area code - the 0 is just to mention that it is a long distance cal) / So when I send her a SMS, that's the number that shows up
- When I receive one of her SMSs the number that I have is 021418862xxxx - the bold number in this case is the service used for long distance calls (which, incidentally is the service # provided by Carrier A)
My brother's number from Carrier B is stored in the same manner, 0419911yyyy but when I receive his SMSs they arrive with the number +55419911yyyy - bold is brazilian international code. BUT, now the messaging app is able to group the messages correctly - This also happens with contacts from Carrier C and D.
If I actually open the message (not the grouping) and check the details for it, it does mention that it was received from my wife (so it IS able to check that it is her number after all)
Did this make sense and anyone has an idea?
bump (for glory!)
I am on Overcome 1.6.1 and i have this issue with the contacts.
when someone calls me, say John 98765432 his name will appear if i save his contact according as John 98765432. but when he smses me, his name will not appear when i use ChompSms(3rd party sms application), his number with the country code +65 98765432 will appear instead.
if i save his number with the country code, the opposite occurs. when he calls i can't see his name but when he sms i can see his name.
anyone with the same problem?
same issue on htc desire and no proper fix till now!! that's amazing!
Hi everyone,
I recently rooted my moto x XT1052 and flashed the latest cm12 nightly. Followed all the steps and the device is working just fine except one major problem. Every time I receive or make a phone call (even from/to those numbers which are already stored in my address book) there is no caller name and photo and only the phone number is displayed. Also there are no contact names in the recent call history and only phone numbers. I'm not able to identify who is trying to call me as I have more than 1500 contacts on my phone. The same problem is present in the messaging app. I'm able to receive and send messages but have no sender/receiver name.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
I have the same issue. Have not solved it.
