I am using RockPlayer 1.0.31_v7 on Nexus One (2.2). It playbacks avi (divx) files correctly. Though is doesn't turn the screen off after it has finished playing back the movies and keeps draining my battery through the night. All other player do turn off the screen after playback (astro, meridian) but they don't cover avi files.
Has anyone the same problem. Any idea for a solution. Thanks in advance.

I have faced a similar problem as yours.
After I installed Rockplayer on Galaxy S, I played several mpeg-2 files.
After that, whenever I make a phone call and put the phone at my ear, the phone never automatically turn off itself!!!
I guess programmer forget to enable the proximity sensor or sleep mode or something else that deals with this problem.
I'm waiting for the response from the programmer by email.

I just found that the problem doesn't come from RockPlayer.
After I unplug the headphone, the phone work normally as it was...

I use the adapter that came with my ATT fuze to play music in my car. I'm happy that this has no noticable effect on my battery life . (I've only really used the HTC music app that's standard on the device). One issue i'm having though, is that the music undergoes (at what seems to be at random times) pauses. The music picks back up after about 10-15 seconds. I assume this is a software issue? Has anyone else had this happen or know of a fix?
Oh, its not a phone call, text or any other notification. I know the music interrupts for these.

Mine does the exact same thing. Ive used the TF3D player as well as WMP. On both, skips occur.
My music is WMA 192Kbps. I was planning on using this as my primary music player, but i guess ill use my Zune for music (sounds better anyways, but the TP has excellent audio quality, suprisingly). This alone kills its music capability for me.
I would try disabling TF3D and use WMP to play music for a day and see if it continues. Since its the only thing running on my device, it is either that or the device itself.
rom?
Are you using the stock rom? I would like to know if it is likely the rom is the culprit, because I should be flashing a new one soon thanks to all the help I got here. Anyway, I wonder if there are any out there with the Raphael that do not rock the stock rom that could let me know if they experience the same issue. hmm... for once I hope my carrier sucks and its their problem not HTC.

That might be a possibility. Im on JDs rom. Ive used other roms but never tested audio playback with the other roms. As for me, theres skipping with JDs rom. Ive heard of this before with the diamond.
Other oppinions would be great. Even a quick test for those who dont use their phones for music would be greatly appreciated.
try turning off wifi while listening
Ive switched to a new rom (eRice) which is a completely empty ROM built on 20931.
The music still skips using the built in HTC player.
I also tried it out using Pocket Player, setting the buffer to the highest setting and the skips still occur.
WiFi is off. I also had bluetooth off and the skips still occur.
I tried with both players soft resetting into standard home with no TF3D and the skips still occured with both players.
I also attempted to use it while in airplane mode and it still skipped.

HAve you tried moving the music to your phone storage then playing? Have you tried swapping SD memory for something a little quicker?
revalation
I was just thinking. Though I am using the stock rom, I still have kaiser tweaks on it and that has a registry change that affects power: turn of sd when not in use. Its possible that this is it. I'll let everyone know my findings once I test it a few times. studying for finals so I have alot of time sitting around in boderline quiet to hear these things.
findings
First and foremost. Can anyone reading this that has noticed any other links addressing this issue post them please?
I'll start:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=412065&page=22
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=426585&page=6
neither of these solve any solutions, but if you feel you're alone you'll see you're not. But please anyone seeing anything about these issues please post. EVEN IF it is a thread to a Raphael Rom that someone asked and noone reported this issue after testing.
Anyway, my findings:
My phone skips what seems to be every 5 minutes.
HTC MUSIC TAB
Without being plugged on charger:
skips for about one second ONLY 5 minutes after pushing the power button to put it into low power mode.
This happens each time I touch the phone (to change a song)
Plugged on charger:
I tested both in low power mode and keeping the screen illuminated the whole time. It skips all the same. exact same results as before
WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER
whether plugged in or not, I did not experience any skip whatsoever.
(only tested music .mp3 files on all tests. sorry that's all i dl)
I was quick to say it's HTC's music tab, but Diamond (TD) users are reporting issues with all types of audio including the turn by turn gps nav voice. I am in finals week and sadly can't mess with installing the garmin software and maps I recieved yesterday, so can anyone confirm that it is all audio interrupted or just music, or best case scenario just the HTC music tab?
maybe this helps,
HKLM\System\Storagemanager\Fatfs\Cachesize=16834 (default = 0)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Taskmanager\MemoryThreshold = 67108864 (default= ???)
HKLM\Software\HTC\Audiomanager_Eng\Config\Request_memory = 8388608 (default= 2097152).
it uses more memory but better performance for music Playing!

Did you have this issue that it skips only after 5 minutes (once per time I input a song change or anything else into the phone) with your TP before making these registry changes? or did you have the lag that others are experiencing?
I am getting a skip, but it's just a few miliseconds "hiccup". Happens every 5-10 minutes, gets annoying after a while. Happens in Coreplayer and TCPMP for me, others have reported Pocketplayer and other players do it as well. I am on a stock Sprint ROM.
I have tried a bunch of stuff to get rid of it, but no go. Tried microdrive mode, disabling TF3D, turning off data connection ... a few other things I can't think of right now. No change at all.
I think in a bit I'll try moving a few songs into internal storage and try that. EDIT: No change, still glitches trying a couple songs on internal memory.
Here is the thread I started on PPCGeeks about this, monitor that too: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=47521

Thanks for the information. Unfortunately, it did not stop the random skips that would occur. Ive tried even increasing some of those values, but that didnt help either.
Moving my music to internal storage didnt help either. Neither did decreasing the overall file size by using a lower bit rate. The skips arnt long (maybe half a second or less) but they are there, and its enough to refrain me from even using the Pro's music capability.
Even listening to streaming music using Pocket Player caused skips (which is tolerable due to the delivery method). It almost seems any kind of continuous sound causes skipping. But i guess i bought a business tool, not a multimedia or game player. Thanks HTC.
I think that's a general issue. I have it, you have it, we all have it.
Too bad that touch pro/diamond has many fallbacks.

correlation
I believe I found a correlation. After an input into the phone (of any type), using htc music tab or windows media player, then let it "sleep", it will skip once (only once) at exactly 5 min. BUT if I leave windows media player up and running (as in not viewing the home screen or any other app), even when the phone is "sleeping", it will NOT skip. So wadafxup? Any ideas? Can we limit this to a software issue? Perhaps? I hope.
I'm not sure exactly what you are saying there ... what is the correlation?
wmp
basically, windows media player keeps it from skipping once in five minutes. I wanted to see, though, if there is any interruption when using turn by turn gps or any other apps that have audio.
i tested out Act 1 video player on my evo, it ran fine. so i bought it to use on the g tablet when it finally came in. so i tried out a few roms and decided on tnt lite 4.4. i loaded up act 1 from the market and ripped a dvd to mp4 and played it. the volume starts at 100% and then gets quieter, so i hit the volume up key, and it goes down to 29% and that is the highest it will get. i first ripped it using dvdfab with the iphone/ipod h.264 settings, set the sound to stereo. i also tried using handbrake with the ipod touch settings with video at 800kbps and audio at 80. both give the same result (though the handbrake rip plays better on the g tablet) with the volume maxing out at 29%.
i emailed the developer of it and he said he hadn't heard anyone else with the issue. so i just wonder, am i doing something wrong?
i also tried making sure the volume was at max before starting the app, but it does the same thing. it also does it on every other rom i have tried, vegan 5.1.1, asop vanilla, g harmony, vegan experamental, and tnt lite. i tried other memory cards and the one usb drive i was able to get working on it.
i really like the playlist shortcut feature for my son to watch movies while on a long car ride without any interaction to start a new one.
_______________________________edit___________________________________
turns out there is something else causing this low volume, i tried mobo video player and it does the same thing as act 1. not sure what is going on.
Try using Rock Player Lite for the time being. I'd had the same issue .. and Rock Player works for me. Guessing the other two need an update.
Yeah I have the same problem also, if you turn the volume up all the way on the tablet, than load the video the volume stays at max. However if you attempt to use volume control in any way the app either crashes or drops to 29% than ultimately to 0%.
Movies display great though haha.
I am running a bell HTC one rooted w twrp installed.
I have noticed that YouTube and other internet video either on WiFi or data has quite a bit of delay to the video vs the audio.
It's Very distracting as the audio is prob 1/2 sec ahead of the video.
Beats on or off doesn't change anything
power saver on and off doesn't matter either
else have this problem.
Audio / Video sync.

I have this issue as well... it seems to come from using Bluetooth. Once you view a video with a Bluetooth device attached the audio will be a half second ahead. This will remain the case until you let it play out of the speakers... if you immediately plug in a headset it will continue with the out of sync video. Once it plays from the speakers it'll line up again, then you can plug in headphones and it'll still line up. I cannot believe I have read 50+ reviews of this device and not a single mention of this issue. This is a deal breaker for me so now I don't know if I should return it.
even after i disconnect bluetooth the audio is still out of sync. I havent tried turning off bluetooth all together though.
Thanks to amaces, lanchon and the TWRP team I've got Marshmallow installed and working on my Nook HD+. All seems to be well, except for a problem with the audio: it will play a music track OK at first time of asking but if I pause playback and then resume it the audio is choppy. It seems to repeatedly and rapidly stop & start, or maybe what it's actually doing is repeatedly dropping fractions of a second of sound - it's difficult to tell.
If I pause music playback and play a video instead the choppy audio problem carries over to the sound on the video: the video looks fine and plays back smoothly, and although it sounds awful the audio seems to stay in sync with the video, in the sense that sound doesn't obviously over- or under-run the accompanying moving image.
Using MX Player to watch a video, if I switch from HW to SW decoding and back again it seems to fix the audio.
The choppiness also seems to go away if I just stop using the tablet for a while - but it comes back as soon as I play/pause/play music again. The same goes if I restart the tablet.
Any clues to what's going on and/or how to fix this? I can't find any other references to this problem so maybe it is just me...

Do you remember which version of CM you were on? Was it the last CM13 version by amaces, i.e. cm_ovation-ota-MOB31K.161125.zip?
I am still on CM13 and would like to hunt down the source of the bug.
I do have the 160819 build stored, so I will start with that

Did you find a solution to this? Did you change a rom that fixed it? I'm experiencing this same issue.
No, I never did manage to get it fixed - in the end I just stopped using the Nook
It's possible that ajislav's fix does cure it. If you get hold of his ROM and find that it does fix the problem, I'd be interested to know.

Hi guys,
This is kind of stange and weird issue... I was listening to music the other day and whenever I put the phone in my pocket and walking the music starts stuttering. I first thought it was a problem with headphones... but I tried multiple headphones the problem still persisted. Then I brought it down to the fingerprint sensor. Even though I don't have a fingerprint lock (nor any kind of pin/pattern for that matter) and I have turned my moto display off.
I am able to replicate this issue just by placing my fingers on the fingerprint sensor.
Can anybody help me guys. Thank you

The problem occurs both in speakers and headphones as well. And a small update, I have tried factory resetting and that didn't work out. And a minor detail..I don't know if it matters but this occurs only when the display is turned off. It doesn't occur when the display is on.
And I will surely try other players and say if there is any change soon. Thanks.
Just checked right now.
No such issue with "phonograph music player".
Anyone tried this with Spotify?
There is a way but it's uneasy and not comfortable,i.e; place your mobile in your pocket with screen facing outside. Now the fingerprint sensor don't get disturbed with your the skin and no stuttering.
I have the same problem, in several different apps (I have not tried spottify, I do not use that). It only happens when de screen is off and if I wake the phone (power button) it stops immedeatly.

Do you mean it is related to the fingerprint sensor? Does that mean that disabling unlock with the finger print sensor could be a workaround for the issue? It is enjoying enough to me that that is worth it so I will give it a try.
I tried Sony Music , Google play music and facing this issue... Looks Poweramp is not affected with this bug
I just had this same issue. I was listening to Spotify with my phone in sleep mode when it started stuttering. I thought it was because the app needed updating so i tried using a mp3 app and had the same issue. I restarted my phone and so far haven't had the same problem but i am concerned. I don't believe my hand was touching the finger sensor at the time it happened. It only happened when in sleep mode and stopped as soon as i woke it up.
i have the issue and i can confirm it *does happen* with poweramp (and also with spotify)...it's definitely a fingerprint sensor thing and putting the phone in your pocket with screen facing out is the only thing that helps but only to an extent - it's definitely something to do with moisture because when I have it in my pocket while working out, as I get sweaty the problem gradually gets worse
