Hey guys,
I have an exchange account setup on my N1, and finding that all folders are synced. I want to deselect some, such as notifications, i don't need them telling me about a new email every 60 seconds.
Is there a way? Can't find a way through the menu.
I am running CM6, so am rooted if that opens up other ways?
Thanks.
Anyone?
Anyone have any ideas?
i dont think there is a way to do this. i have about 60 folders on my work exchange account. but what i do is only keep my account synced for the last 3 days, because most everything in my sub folders is much older than 3 days. so this end result is that nothing is syncing to any folders unless its recently placed there in the last 3 days, which i dont do. i just go back and move everything to folders for the last month, so that doesnt show up in my 3 day sync. sorry.

hey guys, just wondering if anybody else has teh same problem and if theres any fixes....
i have 2 email accounts that download automatically (every hr). i get the new emails, delete them, and an hour later they're downloaded again as new! it gets really annoying! the only way i've found to avoid it most of the time, is to delete the emails, and then hit send recieve... dunno... anybody else?

I do not get this problem at all on my Kaiser. You are obviously leaving a copy of you mail on the servers (is that intentional?). I also leave mine on the server so that I can collect it from my PC as the main collection point (which then removes it). However, despite me using the same settings as you I do not see this problem. Have you checked all the advanced settings?
Do you have the deleted items being emptied each time you connect/disconnect? (This is in messaging app - menu-tools-options and the Storage tab) Try looking at this setting - I am just guessing but it may be that your device is emptying the deleted items and so when you next connect it recollects all mail not knowing it was originally put into the deleted items by you?
Just a guess that may be worth looking at .
ekh this problem has gotten even worse now that ive upgraded to dutty's 6.1 rom... now it wont even delete the emails off the server! i delete thee mails, hit send/recieve, and everything seems to be fine. but next time it downloads my email it downloads all the old emails! i've checked all my settings, and everything is right! any ideas? i might just end up going back to a 6.0 rom...

I have dutty's 6.1 on my kaiser also. No email issues here. I have my kaiser set to delete my mail right off the server, where they go into the servers delete file untill I permanently delete them. I usually keep about 6 months worth in the delete file in case I need to look one up. There is a setting in the kaiser email setup to delete off the server. Is it checked? Sounds like everytime you sync it's sending whatever's there. My sync is set to always on. Maybe that makes a diff.
any more news... Using duttys' too and same probblem... Using godaddy for the server and the emails won't delete off the server..
However outlook on laptop and my old hermies/Tytn-I/8525 running 6.0 works!!!
So I'm getting multiple notifications for my Hotmail account. Basically, I'll get an email, read/delete it, then it shows back up in my inbox 20-30 minutes later (sometimes up to an hour), complete with a new notification. Also, possibly related, but it also doesn't really delete the emails from the account, so when I access the account on a computer, I have a ton of "unread" emails. Any way to get rid of the notifications and actually delete the messages from the account?
Anyone/anything?
What rom are u using ???
Root-Hack-Mod-Always™
CM6.1 currently, but it did the same thing when I was running DC 2.09.1, and when I moved to CM6. I don't remember if it did it when I was using the stock ROM, that was a long time ago.
yeah i have this too with live acct, same as hotmail. i read somewhere that hotmail/live don't have the same permissions as yahoo/gmail, and there is not a fix. i did get a little better results after deleting the acct and reinstalling it after i switched to 6.1.
I don't think they will delete off the hotmail server will they. I don't use hotmail personally, but my wife has issues with hers on an iPod Touch. We figured it out, and it was something in the settings online. I tried to get to to just switch to gmail exclusively, but nada as of yet. closest I have come is talking her into an Android when she is eligible for an upgrade from Sprint in Feb
Check your hotmail settings on the web possibly?
My new droid 3 is bringing in ALL of my gmail. This phone was just turned on a few hours ago and it has brought in the history of my gmail account, 29, 311 emails.
I see no way to "delete all"
I would like to know if I can delete all of them for I surely do not need many years of email on my new phone.
Is there a way to pick and choose who I want emails to come from to load on phone?
My gmail has been set up for years to come into my computers Windows Mail.
I understand on Gmail site as well as my computers windows mail that I can make folders for mail to dump into.
But even it would have placed all this mail into folders I would still have to clean
them out.
I only wanted it to bring in the mail from today....forward
Log into gmail via the web, hit the top checkmark box (not in your email, but above it in the toolbar looking thing). A bar directly below will pop up saying all 50 mails have been selected; next to that there is a link that will select every email/conversation, click it; now you can hit the toolbar archive/delete/move and everything will go with it.
Cheers,

If I was to do this while logged into gmail.com then it would delete my gmail history. I am not wanting to delete from the server itself, just off my phone. So point being I got the phone yesterday and it brought in the email from many years. Silly!
How can I get all this email off my phone is the question and just have current stuff coming in?
I was under the impression that the Gmail app only synced the last 4 days by default. You can change the sync settings by going into the settings menu and selecting your gmail account and then go to sync inboxes and labels.
Seriously though, 29k emails in your inbox!?! Hate to say it but you really should use some labels and clean out that inbox.
29k emails sitting on a server is nothing. It has a search area. why would I bother with that ..they are just sitting there, and I don't read online. I understand they were supposed to sync last 4 days. that is the point. Why do I have so many, and how do I repair this as sync is not working, nor was it with my first droid.
Also it brought in contacts etc that I deleted 2 years ago, after I got rid of first droid! How did it remember that. argh

I seem to have synched everything multiple times when I set up the One. I have 2000+ contacts and a metric crapload of duplicates, the de-duplicate option seems to stall out on me and not complete every time I try it, what do?
I don't know what type of account your working on, but if it was an exchange & you have the contacts on your PC's outlook, you can sort them by date, all the newly created duplicates will have the same date, select them all & delete.
www.google.com/contacts
Use the de-duplication tools on there, assuming they're in Google contacts and you have synching on, of course.
I’m hoping there is help me with an ultra-annoying email issue with the HTC One. Specifically the default email box is “All”. As most of you probably know this means if you sync several folders, including sent and deleted, those emails show up over and over again. If you get a couple of hundred emails a day this means you'll see them 2-3 times.
I need to sync several folders but I want the mail client to open to the Inbox. Is there a way to set this as the default open mail box? I'm going to get rid of this phone if I can't fix this. Argh.
thanks in advance.
