Why in the hell would you wanna do that?
Please don't

i dont think it is possible is it?
I wanna see if it can be done, im not saying im leaving android behind but of android can be ported to the hd2 surely we can port win mo to nexus?
Because it's not open source.
No, it won't be done. It's a HUGE waste of time.
Why would someone want debian or ubuntu on their nexus ones? Because it can be done of course!
But, as others have said, win mo is a closed source operating system, meaning it would be impossible at best.
For the same reason, they've gotten android running on the iPhone, but you won't ever see iOS running on an HTC device

Hello fellas,
I've been trying to look around, but couldn't find it. Is there any way to get a droid to dual run ios and android (choosing from the boot screen when you turn on your phone)? I love running android, but the games on the ios I love.

Just buy a iPod Touch ?
I wish I could run android in my useless IPhone 2G, but its not available too. IOS in Moto Milestone would be a double mess, bad OS and bad phone. By the way I still have my Milestone operational with CM. It is doing pretty well considering hyow old and used it is.
Ability to dual boot Android and iOS would be close to a miracle for any device... But if it happened, it would be awesome. Keep me in the loop, I've dreamt about this also....

Why you're confusing poor guy...everyone in the world knows, that SGN hardware is limited to run Win XP only...nztechblog, I suggest you to install Windows 95 - it's a blast on Galaxy Note!
So can you install win 7 on SGN?

Probably not.if you can it will be slow

Either you are talking about windows phone 7 or you are looking at terminal clients.
For the first i'm guessing that there is a better change of wp8 running on your phone. for the second you can look at Remote Desktop by Xtralogic.
I really hope that wp8 rom will be released for samsung note. Would be something really refreshing

Not going to happen there is no source for windows phone and no drivers for the notes hardware just not going to happen.
And to answer open in theory you could run windows 7 via a emulator much the same ways xp and 95 is run however the lag would make it completely unuseable

arm instructionset should be binary compatible. So i don't think there is a problem with having no source. Much the same as that windows runs on any pc regardless off driver support. (ok drivers are needed for peripherals but windows runs well on intel as on amd as on VIA
OP sir the anwser is no.
Thank you.

It's actually quite easy. It runs very slow, but boots nonetheless.
The big question here may be "why would you want to install Win OS to your Android device?" I understand it was just mainly a theoretical question, but since Android is a Linux derivative - I could imagine formatting your device and installing it, but as icedventimocha said:

For development or theming I guess. I can't think of any other reason but linux is a lot better for that and not as heavy so it's faster.

Freaking awesome. I liked the dna when I looked at it, but no removable battery and no sdcard was the deal breaker. And after all the update delays and just the overall poor life of the thunderbolt made me go with a non HTC device. They lost me as a customer for sure. But the spen and multi Window are just sick.

Haven't seen one here so I decided to make one.
This thread is for talk about any thing Linux. Whether it be a distro, a kernel, OS, mobile Linux, anything! Keep on the topic of Linux, but feel free to talk about anything Linux!
Let me start and tell you my experience with Linux:
It started when my home computer got a virus while I was using Windows 7, tried everything to get it back. I got a recovery disk; nothing, I tried downgrading to xp; virus still persisted. I thought, let me try and use this thing (I called Linux a thing because I didn't know the word OS) a teacher recommended me trying. So I tried to install the latest build (at the time) of ubuntu, 11.04. The problem was that the screen was dim and nothing would be visible. So I had a friend come over who claims to be computer smart (not smart at all) and he said, "why not try an earlier version?" I thought "genius," so I installed it and I started using it. I loved it! It was easy to use and it was virus free! And now I am a happy user (from time to time because I need Windows for video editing) of the latest version of Linux ubuntu!

I see that you edited your OP. I retract my statement where I said you did not contribute to your own thread.

I kind of agree. Linux is an entire different animal than Winders, so it should have it's own thread.
But with the powers that be moving individual device O/T threads here, it'll just get lost in the clutter.

Some of us have tried it. We've tried to like it. The tablet interface needs to stay on tablets. It's not being afraid or resistant to change, it's that doesn't work well in the enterprise area, or is not ergonomically acceptable when it comes to touch screen lap/desktops.
The Metro interface is a reverse of what MSFT has done in the past. Instead of shoe-horning a desktop UI into a mobile device, they're trying to put the mobile device UI onto the desktop. Doesn't work that well in either instance.
It's just the start screen. The desktop I'd still there.

They both are good in there own way, but ubuntu in the future is going to be the dominate OS with Windows next and Mac third.

MSFT is pushing for it. They want software to go through them like Apple does with their store.
Yes, most software isn't Metro'ed yet, but some things I would use in Windows just might eventually go that way.
This isn't a Microsoft thread. STFU about Microsoft.
Anyway, has anyone tried Elementary OS Luna? It's still in beta but I think it's great.
I looked at some reviews of it... Joli OS? It's cool, a cloud OS, you need to register annd you can acces your OS from any browser, or you can boot it off a flash drive,or install it to your hard drive...

For most consumers that's a good thing. I think there's always going to be a disconnect between Linux users and mainstream consumer needs. Not that I don't agree but MS is a business and Apple has invented a successful money farm that any business would be happy to replicate.
How would you guys rate Fedora? I'm thinking about trying it.
