I am running the cm6 2.2 froyo rc1 rom and have noticed that my battery percentage moves at a normal rate untill it gets to around 40 then it just shoots to 18 or 20 when I reboot. I have recently calibrated battery as well. is there a fix for this?
Post this in the ROM's thread, the developer will probably be the best person to help.

Hey guys,
I'm experiencing rapid battery discharge while Nook Color is in standby mode, battery life used to be great while on standby but after using CM7 on sdcard it's nearly discharges like when it's fully working...
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
sounds like your battery maybe on its death throws.. or perhaps you have too many background processes suckin up juice.. we need more info to be helpful
Reboot without card in and check stock performance. They shouldn't affect each other. Plus CM should have better battery life very soon.
Are you running the performance governor? this would keep your CPU at max ALL the time. if you are try switching to Interactive.
Does anybody know how the batter performance in standby mode for CM7.0.2 compares with stock?
Could you tell me when when the CM7 battery tweaks are coming?
Also, could somebody tell me how to maximize battery time when using Nook?
Lots of questions! Thanks in advance.
I was on cm7 but the battery drain was an issue for me. There is no fix currently but the awesome folks at the cm7 team are supposedly going to iron this out soon. Stock should last at least twice as long on standby.
If you use the nook mostly at home I would lower the display brightness all the way down, and completely shutdown at night.
Assuming not overclocked, in use CM7 is very similar to the stock ROM because the screen and backlight are taking most of the power.
In standby the stock ROM is around .2%/hr with wifi off. CM7 is around 1%/hr with wifi off.
I have CM7 nightly build 55 on my Nook and the battery life is amazing.
Besides the feedback others suggested, check to see if you have things actively running in the background. Is the setting to keep Wifi on in standby turned on? That could do it. Do you have some funky mail client on their set to check every 5 minutes or something?
I think the best suggestion was the one previously about taking the SD card out and run it as stock to see how the battery life compares. If it is fine with stock, then you know something goofy is going on with your CM7 install and I would just start over on that with the newest nightly, etc.
My batt stats say Phone idle and Cell Standby are 22% and 17 % over a 12 hr period. So those are what are killing me and the NC isn't even a phone.

Battery performance even on overclocked nootered 1.2 Nook Color is great. I am getting drain of less than 0.2% compare to closer to 2% on cm7.
This is due to cm7 not having full sleep.

Thanks for your reply Canadoc!
Do you know how Stock 1.2 ROM's battery performance compares to that of Nook Froyo 0.6.8 R7 ROM?

Hi all,
Recently I've used battery percentage on the statusbar of my Milestone and found out a weird issue with the battery. The battery percentage goes up to maximum of 100 percents with a normally full recharge but it drops down to 99 percents right away whenever I unplug. This issue at least happened on FroyoMod and even with CM7.1. I setup 1% battery from Settings or install battery tweak from Market- still the same, then trying from wiping battery status in recovery mode but nothing changed.
Would Any one give me a workaround for this issue, please?. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks all.
Thats the way how it works, nothing wrong here

Oh, I'm noob . Thanks,Mate.
My battery charge fluctuates, sometimes it goes up from 5% to 35%, sometimes it seems depleted (2%) and if I check in 15 minutes it's 10% and so on.
I'm running CM 7.2 and previously Darky ROM 10.2. Since this started happening I've used a couple of the top-rated battery calibration tools, but to no avail.
Any ideas? Is it a hardware problem? Or a driver problem with the custom ROMs? Or something else?
Try the following If you haven't already.
Charge phone until it says it's full.
Discharge until it turns off. Try to turn it on to make sure it's absolutely flat.
Do this again.
Then charge it periodically so that you keep the percentage between the 20 and 90 approximately, and see if it improves.
Repeat first steps.
Wiping battery stats and similar "calibration" has no effect on neither the percentage shown or battery performance.

Thanks for the advice, I'll try it and see what happens. Any ideas to the cause of all this? Also, would buying a new battery help?
I don't really know the reason why this is happening, Li ion batteries can be somewhat of a black arts.
A new one should fix it anyway, and they're very cheap where I live at least

I passed through Same problem when i had updated my mobile to jelly bean for first time. But after 7-8 days fluctuates is decreased from +/-20% to +/- 2%. And fluctuates are gone after 20 days.
So dont worry, just wait for 20 days.
I have a Galaxy Nexus, not rooted, and it does this all day. 80%, 14%, 78%. All in a matter of minutes.
I'm discharging fully then doing a full charge to see if it changes anything.
My Sensation never did this and the apps I have are the same. In fact I've installed less on the Nexus...
same problem
i also have this same problem, check this thread...

no one gave me the correct cause or solution.i've done everything i can but no luck.if you get any correct cause or solution pls let me know.anyway I am planning to buy a new battery....
Yesterday i installed the S'Perience ROM and it all went fine, smooth fast rom
Today after 4 hours my battery was at ~80% YAY!! I was a happy man with my new ROM super friendly battery usage.
But then a second later it was at ~10%
Anyone ever had this before, the battery is a new 1500mAh i'm using for a month now.
Normally it lasts 10-14 hours depending on my day.
Maybe i should post this on the S'Perience thread, but i can't post there cause i'm a noob with less then 10 posts.
I also can't attach a screenshot of my battery page because as stated above i'm a less then 10 posts noob.
But i think it's a pretty clear story.
Hope someone can't at least point me in a direction
Tnx in advance
I have that rom instaled and dont have that type of problems.
Try to discharge the phone and charge with him off. them install battery calibration and calibrate it.
Try to see whats runnig in background, most of time its the battery problem to much things running in background
Will try! tnx!
I have 2 apps running lol. Whatsapp and Facebook that's it. And whatever S'Perience is running.
I had latest S'Perience since the firts day with severel apps instaled and the battery do not drops likes yours.
Whatsapp its a big consumer of battery :S
I know whatsapp is a big consumer, but 70% in 1 sec .
Doing the callibration thing now, it charged to 102%
Then i unplugged, and it dropped 1% per second till 58%.
Now it's sitting at 58% for a while......
Gonna let it discharge fully now, and fully charge it rightafter.
Hopefullt tomorrow it'll be a bit better.

battery probably isnt calibrated properly, make a full charge, when the phone says 100 percent, dont believe it, check by going to system/aboutphone/status and it will say full there then use battery calibrater and use all the battery then charge again
Most probably its becaude your using a different battery from most people. That's why.

I recently started playing with some new ROMs and have found that I like Liquid Smooth the most.
The battery drops stupid fast (extended battery only 8 hours, same usage factors as .232 which I got close to two days per charge). Thought it was the ROM until I tried Eclipse and it had the same issue.
So I booted back into .232 and the battery does not read the same percentage. In .232 I have 95% battery as where the custom ROM will show 86%.
What is going on and is there a fix?
Only thing I found was this (different phone) but was never resolved.

Can't edit and its already at the top so I am not bumping, but this probably should have been in troubleshooting. Sorry.
