[Q] Second Mic re-routing? - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Does anyone know whether it is possible to access from audio-flinger or libaudio the 1st and 2nd microphone signals at the same time to integrate in these layer any additional audio processing?
My impression is that the A1026 chip used for Noise Cancellation purpose would receive the 2 microphone signals, process them and output only one of the 2 to the QC MSM chip.
Does anyone know more?
Thank you,

Importing audio into the Kaiser

Hey all, I have been reading like crazy for months, have donated to the site and to some of the developers as well as pledging to the driver cause and doing my best to contact everyone from HTC to people in the press who have covered the issues as well as contacting people/organizations who haven't covered the issues yet.
I have searched and read everything I can about getting audio IN to the Kaiser and haven't seen much activity concerning the subject, so I thought it would be cool to create a thread that deals with this issue. I am going to use this thread to document my experiments. I believe this is the best way I can give back to the community aside from the financial support I show developers etc.
I am a pro musician & producer and want to use Meteor to record song ideas while I am traveling. I am looking to get line level signals into my HTC TYtN II and using the Meteor multi track recorder

It would be very cool to use Meteor to write and record song ideas when I travel. It doesn't have to be super high quality audio, I just want to have a recording of my song ideas so I don't forget them. I have a little electronics device I plug my guitar in that makes it sound like a guitar amplifier. Think of it as a type of audio player for guitars that has an output like an ipod or whatever. I have a little drum machine and a synth keyboard and things like that (they all use line level signals). I do not want to use a microphone I want to use a line level signal from other devices.
Using this diagram

.... I am looking to get an electronics technician to make me a custom plug that will let me get audio into the TyTN II. I suspect that it will be a mic level signal as opposed to a line level signal but I am not sure about this. I have a great deal of experience with music gear, and very little experience with hand held devices in terms of understanding the hardware.
I suspect that whatever audio does get into the Kaiser will be treated as a mic signal, even if a direct signal is used (unless sendign data via USB is possible). I am going to try and get the tech to make a couple of custom cables using HTC's proprietary ExtUSB connector, but if I cant get one made for ExtUSB, I will get cables made that will work using one or more of the the inputs on a 3 in 1 adapter as seen here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/3-in-1-USB-3-5m...ryZ15040QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I am assuming audio applications will be able to "see" the audio once it is sent via the connection.
Some things I am looking into:
1. What format the TyTN II will use for audio that is sent in to it through a custom cable?
2. What kind of quality will the audio will be? WHat kind of control will we have over that audio?
3. Will it be stereo capable or just mono? I am fairly certain that only mono audio is possible via the mic input part of the ExtUSB input.
4. I wonder if audio can be imported in real time via USB connection or if audio can only be imported via the pins that enable a mic for phone use?
Like I said, I will share what I find out and if anyone happens to have ideas or knowledge please reply in this thread.
There are other uses too, aside from using multi track audio applications. If I can get this to work (I am pretty sure I can) , how would you use it?If you have ideas, perhaps you can sHare ways we could take advantage of importing audio into the Kaiser.
Bump this, i have been thinking about this also, if it had 2 seperate headphone and mic plugs, the adaptors for say a guitar or bass would be basic, since the mic is mono and so are the insturments. If i had the tools for micro-miniature soldering, i'd be able to do it easily. but i dont, so if any1 wants to make a couple, i would purchase it in a heartbeat.
You can use meteor or any recorder on the handset, if you're in a quiet room the internal mic does record sound pretty good. if there was a way to do multi tracks at the same time(multiple leads) now that would be something.
Yep, big bump from me. MeTeor is fantastic, having a little recording studio anywhere is great. However, getting a line-in would just open up everything!

[Q]Can the 2nd microphone be used as default

I recently ran into some hardware issues which resulted in me losing the main microphone of my Xperia Z (it literally broke off from the flex cable). I am now forced to use the headset for every call i make, but this usually results in me missing a lot of calls. I did a service test and discovered that the 2nd (noise cancellation) microphone actually works and it made me wonder if there is a way/software i can use to use the 2nd microphone as the primary to make calls, voice commands& recording.
Any help will be appreciated greatly

Lumia 930 defect mic fix with hack?

Hello everyone!
Not sure if it's been posted before, but there's a relatively big batch of Lumia 930 devices that have microphones that short circuit after a while. It's heavily discussed in this topic on Windows Central and I'm also a victim of it.
What happens is that 2 of the 4 mics (mostly at the back) on the 930 suddenly don't work anymore. Therefor the device can't record any sound while filming in Windows Camera (W10M), Whatsapp, Voice recorder, etc. Those apps use only the two back microphones. The front microphones are disabled or are used to cancel noise by default. When calling, the bottom front (still working) microphone is used.
Is there a hack that could make it possible to use the other (front) microphones on the phone to record sound while filming? Like a "use all microphones" hack? Or maybe a tweak to disable noise cancellation?
I checked in several forum if there is any solution to the problem , but almost all ask to take the appliance to a technical assistance .
My phone is no longer under warranty , the repair value is too expensive (better buy a new one)
But I'm thinking about changing the microphone , I saw that there are websites selling like this user ( brittech14) on Ebay.
Anyone know if replacing the microphone solves the problem ?
Also looking for an answer to this problem if it is either possible to disable mic 3&4, force apps to use mic 1&2 instead of 3&4 or a way to fix this by disassembly.
Would really appreciate if someone knows more about fixing this issue.
Hi,
The only way to solve mics problem is replacing them. Changing the mics functionality through software hacking is impossible. Since, the Lumia 930 has two product code, RM-1087 and RM-1045 (the latter is popular), as a small chance (but risky) you can try the firmware of RM-1087 on your device (Download Links).
Having the same issue with a phone that is out of warranty, curious if there is any solution, registry edit, tweak, etc. to remap 3rd and 4th mics to the working 1 and 2...
Fortunately, some of HW issues such as mic problem are supposed to be fixed in future w10m updates, probably RS2.
does not solve problem, just replaced the microphone still does not work

Iocean Rock MT6752 I need values of parts or buy parts

Hello!
Do any have parts for iocean rock mt6752?
I need to find out what the values (see attachment, place motherboard) of these parts are, and buy a part with a microphone and a microusb socket (can anyone have?).
The rear camera doesn't work. And left channel of external microphone.
Does anyone know about external microphone and for calls microphone is the same model?
Please reply.

Audio IC used in A2

Hi
I know that this might be rather mysterious question, but hopefully I will make you understand.
As you might know, the A2 comes without the headphone jack. This however doesn't stop me from trying to add it back in. If you take a look at the device, there surely is some IC that drives the loudspeaker and the internal speaker for calls. This IC (or the part of a bigger chip) is in every phone, thus it should have a similar architecture and functionality. I guess most of the chips would have the headphones output aswell as the loudspeaker output all in one package.
So if there is such an IC, I would like to know at least the schematic, or a board view of the phone, I could verify my idea. Sadly, all the schematics I have found online gives just a plain pinout without much info on it. I'm looking for someone who can either disassemble some A2 or have done that already and could provide me some more details about the audio architecture in this phone.
Thanks for all the helpful info regarding this topic.
