Even if you could, would you really want to?
The Droid 2 is 1GHZ, stock Touch is 400mhz, OC to 500mhz-ish
Animated stuff usually takes up CPU usage, so your phone would probably be slow/sluggish.
As cool as it looks, not sure if I would want that performance hit on my phone.

So im running the RoDrIgUeZsTyLe froyo with the oc kernal and was playing around with Overclock widget and noticed that it will goto 1.2ghz..i know the kernel was for 1113ghz. Anyone tried using the higher setting? Would it be safe to just try it or ?
thanks
what for a wiget allows 1,2 Ghz ???
Overclock widget on the market
If u go into click here to define it allows 1.2ghz
heres a screenshot taken by shoot me
Even if you set it to 1200 it'll only let your device go as high as 1113. Give it a try
Edit: just saw your screen shot. That's interesting.

yes you can set it to 1,2 Ghz but you get just 1,114 Ghz not more
better to use setCPU the widget is not working right...
damn your right....i thought maybe it would work but ya i tried and just goes right back to 1113...oh well
thanks
Lol

u know i was using setcpu and i was charging my phone earlier while on a phone call and all of a sudden my temp went up to 104F
was set at 1113mhz....i've had it set at before and never had any temp issues the highest its ever climbed was like 97F...i know the back of the phone was hotter than all hell
just out of curiosity how come the Moto Droid uses a slower cpu than the nexus but yet the droid can be overclocked way past the nexus?
How would you know? I heard hell is very hot these days. Lol.
Its nothing unusual. Your phone is over clocked, you're charging and using your phone.
I suggest you lower down the Max freq while on charge.

funny thing is that i had a charge/sleep profile set a min/max 576
what about the droid any idea?
Will overclocking make the tattoo run smoother? in terms of the live wallpapers cause most the live wallpapers run abit slow.

I think the main pbs are missing VGA, resolution and OpenGL. Overcloking isn't stable, it causes freeze... and you damage the hw. I think live wallpaper need to be rescaled to work.

hey guys ..
i'm on Stock rom Gb Jpla1 .. kernel speedmod#11
why live wallpaper is lagging my phone ?? :S this is Shi*
is there a particular reason why profanities are needed in a case which is down to user decisions and user error?..
Q. Will live wallpaper result in a slower operating system than static wallpapers?
A. Yes of course it will, it has to as the cpu is doing more work
Q. Can i optimise my Note so that the lag associated with live wallpapers is less noticeable?
A. Why of course you can!.. The beauty of Android is you can customise many things to reduce CPU load, improve battery life and reduce the degree of noticeable lag.
Q. But what if the lag i think i see with live wallpaper is really annoying???
A. Take a chill pill, quit being a girl and turn off live wallpaper..problem solved
I also experience this while in GB ROM. But when I flashed ICS CM9 it was much much more smoother now with the live wallpaper. That also annoy me at first, lagging while using live wallpaper in GB ROM.
Android is leaving live wallpapers in the dust.
Swearing is cool.

Hi guys, I'm new to the forums. Sorry if this post is in the wrong section!
I just picked up my HTC One, and I love it. I have noticed though, that gaming seems really off. I realize that the throttle kicks in at 40c but my device still has extremely subpar gameply lag when the device is cool. With no programs running in the background, games like Jetpack Joyride have a frame "jump" ever 3 seconds or so, making it unplayable. Gravity Guy runs at about 10 frames per second, and Final Fantasy III has the same frame "jump" as Jetpack Joyride. Other games I've tried run very choppy / jumpy as well. Again, I am fully stock, and I am willing to root if I can't find a solution elsewhere. Again, no other programs are running. I have turned auto-sync off. I'm on Verizon, so the power-saver mode isn't even there, so it's not turned on. Any suggestions at all will be HIGHLY appreciated! I love this phone...it is wonderful in everyway, but gaming should be buttery smooth.
The only thing I can think of is that a lot of games are optimized to run on one core...
Can rooting fix this problem? Please let me know if you either have the same issue I have, or if you have a possible solution. This is my second HTC One, as the first one had dust under the screen. Both devices had the same issue with gaming.
Thank you so much in advance!
CL
Maybe you should try a custom kernel and try to tweak the cpu governor and gpu governor a bit. For gaming you shouldn't need to overclock the htc one but to force to jump at higher frequencies more often.Go into cpu governor and change up threshold to 65 or lower and maybe you should try the gpu simple governor as well to see if there is any difference. I recommend using a tweak app like trickster mod for this.

I'm a complete noob when it comes to kernels. I am tempted to return the phone and trade it in for a GS4. I shouldn't have to go to this trouble to fix this horrible lag on such a high-end phone. Any ideas? Can someone give me a link to a detailed / easy to follow process on rooting / changing throttle threshold.
I'm not new to flashing etc but i'd advise not to do it with this phone as it avoids your warranty, i'm also about to swap my phone for the 4th time.
Mine lags too on games like asphalt 8, GTA etc.

I'm not gonna swap it in unless i absolutely have to. Why are you swapping for the fourth time by the way?
When taking photos at night the blacks are purple/red.
I've had quality issues with every one i've had, one of them came out the box with the camera lens scratched.

Sorry to hear that. Have you had game lag? I am just wondering if some games are not optimized for the resolution of the HTC One at 1080p...

could be that they are not optimized, some of the games i had on the lowest settings and felt lag. i won't be overclocking this (gets too hot as it is)
you can have a look at this (under the tips for non rooted users)

For the life of me, I can not find this app. Google search is letting me down, for once.
I want to be able to force an app to run at a lower resolution, mainly for performance reasons since some apps aren't very fast at the 2560x1600 resolution of this tablet.
Also curious if the app can help with apps that don't scale to full-screen, like Let's Golf 3 that is stuck in a little 800x480 section of the screen.

You can use wm in a terminal. Search for that.
Will this actually improve performance? Or will it make no difference because the physical number of pixels that need to be shifted around is the same?

It will be down-scaling the image, while it does improve render performance, its not the same as running is nativley at a lower reolution. Same as what ms is doing to the xbox one...
