Check firerat's thread. I believe the very first post gives you the sizes of the partition for both CM6 and Sense roms.

I need help running the latest cyanogen rom, i am currently on the sensehero, and want to make a move to cyanogen. Ive read, but am not sure what to do. Ive read, I need to download the android recovery image 1.6 and mount it on my sd as well as the rom itself. Then i wipe clear everything, fix my ext, then flash the recovery image then flash the rom itself. Are these steps correct or is there anything else i must do? And btw I have danger spl and current radio image and latest cm recovery, 1.4. Thanks in advance
okay so i did the dual-boot instructions to dual boot froyo and 2.1 in the android development forums. now im trying back to revert to a stock rom. but when i run the script that the thread tells us to run to revert
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11001928&postcount=66
i get errors saying reformat-media.sh: line 9:/data/dualboottmp/parted: not found
anyone know any better way to delete my partitions and recreate them to be the same as stock setup?
now i flashed a nookie froyo rom over everything. it boots fine. but im trying to install an overclock kernel and the instructions say that im supposed to replace uImage with that in /boot but my rom does not have a /boot partition.
can anyone help me out?
You just input the script step by step.It will be ok.
How do I remove it?
I have an HTC Dream/G1 & I've basically gone thru the entire 97 page thread regarding Firerat's CustomMTD & found no solution to my problem. I'm a noob, but do not enjoy wasting anyone's time, so I applied my due diligence. Anyway, I got v1.5.8 with the all in one patch installed with mtd 90 2 & was quite happy, as I had updated to the new 2708 radio & SPL 1.33.0013d all in 1 go. Currently I'm on Amon Ra 1.7 recovery & wanted to give Clockworkmod a try & try out the new 2825 radio. But custom mtd will not be removed. I followed all the instructions more than once, ran the remove patch, wiped via fastboot, Superwipe v2, installed another rom, changed mtd to 0 & even removed the mtdpartmap.txt from the sdcard, but still no success. Not sure what I missed or what the problem could be & would appreciate some assistance as this has me stumped...
Thanks in advance...

Its an alteration of the kernel commandline in both the boot and recovery partitions. To remove, you write a new boot and recovery partition (stock), and then perform a full wipe of the system, cache, and data partitions.

Thanks for the reply. Had to flash orange.nbh, as the remove patch for FR-CMTD wouldn't actually take effect and somehow 4 out 5 of my nandroid backups got corrupted and threw me into bootloops. The last nandroid backup would load, but had no access to my sdcard. So backed it up & reformatted & repartitioned it. Thank god for dropbox & ti backup! Got everything reflashed & running smoothly, save Clockwork mod & FR-CMTD+AIO. Still uncertain about CWM, had it flashed, but went back to Amon Ra due to nandroid backup issue. Anyway, I appreciate your reply. Thanks.

How do do that because im having the same problem?
Hello i was wondering if someone could help me with an issue which may seem very minor to you, but i am a new bee in the rom business. I was running MIUI and wanted to switch to the Fasty 3 V1.3, so i go into recovery and then clear the cache and then the dalvic cache then i wiped all the user data. Then i applied the zip from my internal SD card and after installing the zip i would reboot then it would get stuck on the cynogen mod boot screen. So whenever i want to change to another rom i always have to go back to stock Eclair and then reroot and then ad a rom. Could anyone tell me what i am doing wrong?
When leaving MIUI or Cyanogen Mod and returning to "standard or regular" Roms you have to go back to "Stock" And Repartition.
MIUI and Cyanagen Mod use a different Partition Map ---- MTD
The other standard or regular (for lack of a better word at this time) i897 and i9000 Roms use the BML Partition Map.
And so when changing from a MTD Rom to a BML Rom you must flash to Stock Firmware that does a Full Wipe and Repartitions.

I beg to differ on repartition. If you were to use my kf1 packaged to go back to"stock" there is no repartition involved. There is not a pit file packaged with it. I have always thought that you are merely reformatting your existing partitions. Double check with someone more learned than i. I don't want to misinform anyone.

Thanks Mike for the correction. I was wrong in my initial post... Used the strike out to correct it.
I just finished going to Cyanogen Mod and MIUI from Stock i897uckk4 with Corn Kernel and returning successfully to kk4 from both of those using ur Safe KF1 Odin 3 File No Bootloaders. The Full Wipe has got to be the answer then, not the Repartition. The Reformatting, Not the Repartioning.
I have always used the Repartition along with the Full Wipe when returning to Stock from those MTD Roms and I thought I had learned somewhere along the way that that is what was necessary.
I sure don't wanna give out bad info...so thanks again.
So to switch roms i always have to go back to stock? Because when i do go back to stock i lose my root and three button fix and have to re-do them.
Info for AOSP to i897, i9000 roms
Not always. Just when going from a AOSP (CyanogenMod, MIUI, ICS, etc) to a I897 or I900 rom. As for the 3 button fix just flash GB bootloaders you don't EVER have to reflash those unless you wish too. Just remember to use "safe" or no bootloader packages. Root isn't important since most roms are rooted and ALOT of kernels have root.
I should be more clear. You will need GB bootloaders for Fasty 3. After you flash them always use "safe" or "no bootloader" packages for odin and you will never loose 3 button fix and save you from hard bricking in general.
Mental note: Need to remind myself to put tittle so searching is easier.....
I've flashed two custom ROMs now (WajkIUI and MIUI Spanish) from ClockworkMod, they both loop on the boot animation.
I've gone into ClockworkMod and wiped data/Factory Reset, wiped /cache and Advanced > Wipe Dalvik Cache, but the same result.
I've tried the latest CyanogenMod nightly, and that is working fine.
Can anyone help me troubleshoot this?
CyanogenMod is in fileformat ext.4, if your new flashed roms are ext2 or 3 you have to use "back to ext.3.zip" found in xda or modaco forums to revert your filesystem/structure back to ext.3. Then wipe - flash - enjoy. After booting you may change kernel to a kernel with ext4 if thats your choise. Some ext.3 roms have autoback to ext3 some dont. There has also been released zips for making your filesystem ext.of choise.
I hope this helps you out.

Get the link for backtoext3 and ext4 converter from here
And also if you are not on the latest version of CWM, I would strongly recommend to install it. Use ROM Manager from android market to install CWM.
