is there such a thing as a htc keyboard or is it just the STANDARD android keyboard?
ive used a magic and a htc desire and i love how it suggests words when im spelling something. i also love how easily i can toggle between languages on the desire (i think thats only possible with froyo, right?)
so how can i pull that off on the galaxy? i know froyo will come for the galaxy eventually but my magic with 1.6 already suggested words which my galaxy is lacking so IS there such a thing like a htc keyboard or what does the htc use and is there a way I can get EXACTLY THAT ONE on my samsung?
thanks in advance
You could try, Better Keyboard it is not the same as the HTC one but will allow sugested words

I want to know if its possible to fix the god awful software keyboard. The thing just plain sucks you can not type fast on it without it skipping letters or not picking up correct keys typed. This might have a lot to do with the muti touch not being fully implemented but if it can ripped from hero roms and implemented into the browser why not the keyboard? I currently own a G1 and a Mytouch and using the Mytouch is just a terrible experience. Now I want to know if a Dev would want to look into this because its something that needs serious fixing and would be an amazing fix for the Mytouch and future keyboard-less android phones.
Sorry had to vent a little :]
Thanks!
Are you talking about the Android or HTC IME? If the android try the HTC_IME.
You talking about the keyboard from the hero builds? If so that still does not cut it.
My experience is only with a G1 - what is state of the art these days? I would probably want a real keyboard.
Thanks for any advice.
I think this is all about opinion though, so in my opinion, it would be the Nexus One. If you want to know what might be the best Android phone that hasn't been released yet, I would say the HTC Desire, but again, it's just my opinion.

Neither have a QWERTY keyboard, right? Any thoughts on a phone with a real QWERTY keyboard?
there are none wich are up to date with android 2.1 :<
there is this LG phone but it still runs 1.5, and the x10 mini pro will also only run 1.5
wtb HTC device with keyboard and 2.1!

wait for the nexus enterprise
I like querty want to see a phone with an actual keyboard too.
The G1 is definitely an awesome phone but can not last forever as newer and better Roms are officially released.
I don't think these companies understand that not everyone wants an all touch screen phone.
Hopeful to see a decent, rootable replacement for the Dream sometime in the near future.
Okay im new to the scene, had my nexus since Febuary after i broke my iphone. i want to join the rooted life but i dont know which is the better one for me since theres like over 4 diffrent roms *kanye shrug*
but ive been reading about kitchens, from my understanding its a program that let you pick what you want flashed, i want to find out which rom allows me to install things i really want.
heres a simple list
htc keyboard, htc peep (i believe thats impossible still want it though lol), anything that can make the trackball change color, a volume boost if it exists, the desire camera app, and a BETTER GALLERY APP if it exists, the one thats stock is pure a$$ it makes pics look like trash (main reason it failed that iphone vs n1 screen test)
thanks in advance

and trying to install the HTC Camera from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10546829&postcount=125
but it doesn't work...
can someone help me please???
I did exactly some thing along with library files, but it doesnt worked. I installed it and restarted the mobile and it stucked at htc hd2 boot screen image. Wait for Mdj to have this in the build. But only possible if we all request him!

i've posted this in the rom thread there was some response from ppl who want this too but havn't heard from MDJ yet...
don't know what to do this is the only rom that works good for me exept WM
and WP7 is out of the quastion cause it's still lack of good hebrew support and a good gps software
so android it is....
hopfully more ppl will ask for it and mabe in the next realese we all will have the HTC Camera unless there is another way to make it work wich i would very like to know!!
You can't install HTC Sense applications on non-Sense ROMs because the apps require an underlying Sense framework, which is not open source and has not/cannot be ported - I doubt MDJ is focusing on this. Same reason you can't use Sense widgets on non-sense ROMs. Gist of it is it that if you want Sense anything (Except that one keyboard port), use Sense. Else use Vignette or Camera 360.
Has been asked many times over, might be worth searching before posting next time.

Sorry Guys,
This Cam don't work on Gingerbread.
It needs the HTC Framework, Sense and some other files.
Maybe if in Future comes an Gingerbread with Senes it works.

Hi.
I have found this, and I love it.
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/49-key...oard-for-android-windows-symbian-iphone-45604
The problem is that I think it doesn't work with our stock 2.2 legend roms. I think they don't have the HID protocol, but I'm not sure.
I read that froyo has HID protocol, but not for our Legends. I have read people using this keyboad with Desire or Galaxy S, but not with Legend.
I think that CyanogenMod has it, but not the original HTC 2.2 rom.
Has somebody this kind of keyboards?
