I just went back to a stock rom from CM6. The two things I miss the most are the ability to take away that zoom icon on the browser and the user agent feature in the browser settings. How can I get that without going back to CM6?
You can get the user agent feature by typing about:debug and going into the settings.
wow i didnt even know i could do these regardless of being on CM ive been CM'd for a while. thanks!

I just installed it too...seems Much better than my last version...which strangley expired today..i wonder if that's because the new beta just came out at the same time? Anyway, I'm happy and its working great..
Thanks for the heads up. I've been using the pirated 2.15, but it will be nice to be using an official release for once so I'll know when the newest release is out.

I signed up for the site to receive the beta, but I still have not gotten the email to download it. I've also tried resending the link and their server never sends out an email to me. Niiiccee....
I signed up but I am unable to download the installer, keep getting download unsuccessful. Anyone able to get it to install successfully?

This is gonna sound so obvious, and not to insult your intelligence, but have you looked in your spam folder?
I was able to download it successfully on two devices, no problem.
now that I actually try to get swype the official way its not letting me. Keeps saying "Sorry! Thus us not an android device." Anyone else getting this on cm6?

will this automatically work on the aria?
Is there any way to get the apk from this newest release? I signed up for the beta and as soon as I did, I got a POP up saying my current version of swype had expired. And I can't do it the legit way since ATT blocks installs that are separate from the market. HELP!

Difficult in what way? I think its probably the easiest soft keyboard to use. I guess if you're not used to a qwerty keyboard then it does take some time to get used to where the keys are as swyping with efficiency does require you to have the letters locations committed to memory.

Exactly, it's hard to see as you're "swype-ing". I view this as just a novelty . After a little while it gets fun lol.

That's probably the reason people view it as a novelty. It becomes second nature after a while. I've gotten to the point now where I don't even have to look for individual letters on the keyboard as I'm swyping. I just need to view the keyboard as a whole and its just burned into my memory where I need to swype to get the letters. it just takes a little time, but once your get it down its by far the fastest way to type without having an actual physical keyboard.

Google "AndIRC" - it's the very first option and says chat. Type in a username (any) and #bionic for the next box.
Boom. That easy.

At the very bottom you will see a bar - a small one. Type there. Hit enter when done
It's basically like a large group AIM chat. The right sidebar will show you who is all in. At the very top you might see a blue link - that's your nightly Liberty build.
And I highly advise against asking for an ETA Dangerous things might happen...

Out of curiosity, what's the difference between Swype and the Trace keyboard that comes preinstalled?

It did that to me too. Go into your default browser's settings and enable "Mobile view" then try it again.

One of the features on ICS that I really liked was Auto Fill, where you fill out name, address and email info one time and any forms that you came across that needed some or all of that info were automatically filled in, but I can't find it on JB.
Edit: meant to put this in Q/A not sure how it ended up in General.
Pretty sure that's a browser feature...

Unless I'm mistaken, which is possible, but I remember there being a form in the systems settings menu.

Don't feel like an idiot. Stupid people never know that they are idiots. Only smart people admit having an idiot moment.
I can't for the life of me figure out how to access my Google bookmarks on the stock browser. Does anyone know how to import them? All I can see are the default bookmarks.
In the meantime, use Chrome.
I'm not a big fan of Chrome. It really isn't a big deal, just wondering if I was missing something.

As far as I know the stock browser does not have this functionality. Not sure why you would expect it to, especially since Chrome is included in the ROM.
I came from the gs3 and the stock browser on that was able to do that, I assumed they all did. It has been a while since I had an HTC phone.
Well capt, depending on what gapps package you used in AOSP, I'd be able to access my bookmarks through stock browser.

I'm still using Sense 5,but I wouldn't imagine that this would change.
Hit the menu, and go to Bookmarks. Do you have a drop down for the bookmarks that lists All Bookmarks, Local, <youremail>@gmail.com?
I have all of my bookmarks from my stock browser from my first tablet.
The only thing in the drop-down is 'local'

That's strange....can someone else confirm that Local is the only thing available on the drop down? That sucks, because I actually prefer the stock HTC browser over Chrome. My phone tends to like it better. Maybe it's just me.

Thanks. For a minute I thought Sense was AOSP, and dogs breeding with cats were normal.
I knew when I hit "Submit", those would be your exact words! LOL!
I was wondering the same thing. Only thing u have is "Local" also.
Hawknest I think had a fix for this that worked on the M8/Sense 6 ports in the OG One forums. I'll link to it when I find it.

EDIT: The files from the above zip did not have any effect for me.
It just occurred to me that Google dropped the stock AOSP browser completely in favor of Chrome. The stock Internet browser from HTC is only a skinned version of the AOSP browser, so it comes as no surprise that sync and other features wouldn't be working.
Understood. Sometimes it seems like we lose more features and conveniences as we keep upgrading to newer versions. I'm sure Google has their reasons for certain things, but I sometimes wonder what their thinking is.
