I can't for the life of me figure out how to access my Google bookmarks on the stock browser. Does anyone know how to import them? All I can see are the default bookmarks.
In the meantime, use Chrome.
I'm not a big fan of Chrome. It really isn't a big deal, just wondering if I was missing something.

As far as I know the stock browser does not have this functionality. Not sure why you would expect it to, especially since Chrome is included in the ROM.
I came from the gs3 and the stock browser on that was able to do that, I assumed they all did. It has been a while since I had an HTC phone.
Well capt, depending on what gapps package you used in AOSP, I'd be able to access my bookmarks through stock browser.

Hit the menu, and go to Bookmarks. Do you have a drop down for the bookmarks that lists All Bookmarks, Local, <youremail>@gmail.com?
I have all of my bookmarks from my stock browser from my first tablet.
The only thing in the drop-down is 'local'

That's strange....can someone else confirm that Local is the only thing available on the drop down? That sucks, because I actually prefer the stock HTC browser over Chrome. My phone tends to like it better. Maybe it's just me.

EDIT: The files from the above zip did not have any effect for me.
It just occurred to me that Google dropped the stock AOSP browser completely in favor of Chrome. The stock Internet browser from HTC is only a skinned version of the AOSP browser, so it comes as no surprise that sync and other features wouldn't be working.
Understood. Sometimes it seems like we lose more features and conveniences as we keep upgrading to newer versions. I'm sure Google has their reasons for certain things, but I sometimes wonder what their thinking is.

I hate to admit it, but I've been comparing the latest IE9 Beta to the latest Chrome6 Beta. IE9 (for HTML5) performance is a GOOD DEAL better on almost every site i visited (both MS and non MS sites). I estimated some of the performance tests were more than 3 times faster in IE9!
Give the tests a go here: http://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/
While I am staying with Chrome for now, I will definately be tempted to go back to IE if HTML5 in Chrome does not improve.
Disclamer, it could be that the Chrome installation on my PC is no good!?!
Yeah IE has always and will always suck. I can't possibly think of any reason somebody would want to use IE when there's Firefox and Chrome (even Opera and Safari). With anything made by MS you have to spend all your time configuring it and apparently you need to go through an entire workaround just to set Google as the default search engine. Don't even attempt to tell me that you really prefer "Bing".
Actually I hate having seperate web browsers I have tried them all and I love ie especially since the ie9 beta was just released. But everyone has there own preference and mine is ie all I was wanting was chrome2phone to run on ie is their anything wrong with that.

Nothing wrong w/u'r question. I'm no longer using chrome since IE9beta rocks!
I been working all morning on trying to figure out how to create a Haddon for ie9 so we cab have ie2phone I will get it eventually once I do I need help developing a webpage for this.

Any luck yet on this? I've been using the IE9 beta, and it is sweeet. Only weakness is I really hate having to open firefox or chrome to send stuff to my EVO. We really need IE9-to-phone.
I know there's Android 2 cloud, like chrome 2 phone, but in reverse. Throwing it out there in case someone hasn't heard. I use chrome though, so can't help you there. =D G' luck.

I've asked this before because I want it too. Apparently this IS impossible, and there is no way to port it without having sense entirely. I wish there was.
So your saying its impossible to have that feature because sense has already done that? Theirs no dev that could make that feature possible without sense? Well then sense is starting to have features over stock android.. how disappointing

The thing is, the text selection method isn't just in the browser, it's across the entire phone in the sense ports. So it's an integral part of the OS.
I don't even mind the select text in stock android.. I just wish their were other plugins for android browser so we could have translate integrated into the browser. I guess just a wish for gingerbread or the next release. Copy and paste and leaving the browser into translate isn't the worst but it is annoying

Scrolling works fine here. But I can't get it to force show desktop versions of certain websites. It'll only show the mobile versions. Also, getting to bookmarks is a bit cumbersome as there are no quick controls as in the standard browser.
Don't expect flash to ever work. Read a FAQ somewhere that there are no plans.
Really wish you could set the us string. Scrolling is super fast.

I agree, it's very fast. Looks awesome on the Xoom. I'm fine without having flash, in fact, I haven't had flash installed for a long time and I've gotten along fine without it. I'll be glad to see some more features added to Chrome.
one thing I noticed (only compared one wiki page) is that chrome for android shows for text (about 2 extra lines) compared to default browser (on my xoom in landscape)
Not regular scrolling. There's supposed to be tilt scrolling where tilting your tablet up or down will scroll using the accelerometer . Also just found out about tab swiping. If you swipe your finger from the edge of the screen you can swipe between tabs. Awesome
Thought tilt scrolling was something different. Guess it doesn't work on tablet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bzdcw6WSr8&feature=player_embedded

The stock browser on Android has always been a separate app. Word on the street is that Chrome will replace the stock browser when it's out of beta, and the current browser will no longer be available in the open source Android os.

Chrome is way slower and the drawing lags badly on scrolling compared to the aosp browser. There's one to. On here that uses the aosp browser. Its so much smoother and faster. Unfortunately autorotation does not work on that ROM. Why did Google make chrome the default?

Unfortunately its the same garbage on this tablet. It was really stupid of Google to make chrome the default and not include the aosp browser. I tried the aosp browser and its butter smooth with zero lag. Chrome on the other hand is a complete lagfest.

Yes...Chrome definitely blows for Android. Sad really. Chrome to phone and all the syncing options are really nice, but the browser itself is just awful. Hoping Google really gives this some love soon b/c as others have said, the stock regular browser that has been on Android forever is so much nicer.
Just by watching videos, I can already tell that I hate the Chrome browser. It can have a horrendous amount of lag, and it is extremely annoying having to watch reviews that show this sub-par browsing experience when I know for a fact that all of this dreadful performance could be alleviated by switching to the AOSP browser. Google quite obviously did this to promote their browser, but it does not do good for the Nexus 7 image.
Hmm have you guys fully updated your n7's? Chrome is blazing fast for me. Haven't had a single issue with it except for Swype entering spaces after every letter in the address bar sometimes.

Hi all,
Before the flaming starts, let me clarify. I love chrome. It's great. Tabbed browsing, chrome to phone and all. However, I enjoy using websites with either streaming content or video on demand. Unfortunately, it seems that Adobe isn't supporting Flash on android 4.0 and higher - and that's their prerogative. This does leave me with a void in my media consumption. Are there any browsers/codecs/something I don't know about which can help solve my internet video problem?
[For example, teamliquid.net]
thanks

I cant get Dolphin to work flash at all on my Nexus. I installed the flash apk floating around too, but nothing. Does yours work on putlocker? Did you update to the new version of Dolphin that came out yesterday (i think) that disables flash?
I have been using Xscope pro 7 with flash and it works perfect for me, also has a check box for displaying site in desktop mode and it doesnt reset every time you have to reboot.
I've been using xscope or about 3 years now and it download anything I throw at it, the newest iteration is design with the nexus 7 in mind.

It isn't really an American thing, it's a "didn't read it before posting" thing. The phrase makes absolutely no sense. I've never heard anyone say "I could care less" in an actual conversation, it's like they know how ridiculous it sounds when they say it, but that same censor doesn't come out when typing.
