Hey guys, I have nokia E72 and i want to move my contacts from TyTN II to my Nokia E72. I don't have any idea how to do it. Please help me out
Usually I use email client (Outlook express,Microsoft outlook etc) to do it.
Firstly I synchronize contact detail from Tytn to Outlook Express or Microsoft outlook and then re-synchronize contact to E72 using Nokia PC Suite from Outlook express or microsoft outlook. CMIIW.
I hope you can understand what I mean due to my bad english grammar....
I got it thanks a lot

Nice to help you....
Sry for my question.
I dont have Nokia PCSuite installed and I wouldnt install it. Can I without installing PCSuite syncronizes my Nokia Contacs with my TyTN II?
In case no one knows of a freeware app to mass send all contacts (via bluetooth or something that bypasses the need for Nokia software), you could always just turn on bluetooth on phones, probably best to pair them. Then open up your contacts on the TyTn II, and send each contact individually by bluetooth (it may be listed as "beam", think it depends on ROM version(?)) to your nokia. Do make sure that extra fields are received and mapped correctly - eg work fax number goes to the correct category, addresses, birthdays, e-mails etc., BEFORE you stop taking your TyTn II around with you.

Previously i use vCard manager to backup all contact from Nokia and it will result single file (vCard) ready to backup/copying to another symbian phone. But unfortunately that i didn't know winmo application to read vCard file perfectly in HTC.
I think it will be difficult without pc suite to backup/copying contact to another phone OS.

Hi all,
please kindly help me out here. I've tried searching numerous times within this forum and I cannot seem to find any solution to my above mentioned problem.
Anyone out there had tried to tranfer SMS from a Nokia 6680 to a HTC TyTN II? I have no idea how to do it. It seems that they are of total different formats. I have tried a number of ways but never succeeded.
The reason why I wanted to transfer all these (1000++) SMS because they are all memorable SMS from my wife since we dated.
Any kind soul out there, please kindly share your ideas. Your efforts will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much in advance.
Cheers
eRic
You can try forwarding it to your new pda might take a while, and can be costly. But, if your nokia is pc compatable, try browsing for the sms text document, if you have not already!

All i can say is.... HELP, DONT MOCK
You may be able to save your SMS's to your PC with Nokia PCsync software? Thats all you can really do to save them as there is no way you can really 'import' SMS's into any make of phone. They all store them in their own propriotory database.
Sorry, not sure if anyone else has an idea...
or maybe Jeyo
as it works with outlook, and I know they have a symbian version, the PST file should be the same as the one for PPC as well
So it would be a case of downloading it into outlook from the Nokia and upload back up to your kaiser

I have got the whole folder of SMS from my Nokia6680 copied on my desktop. But somehow I couldn't get Jeyo to read the folder. May I know if there is any settings to adjust in order to read the files?
Thank you so much.

Jeyo can't read the folder if it is on your PC, it's the wrong format. You have to connect it to the Nokia and read them from there.

Which and Where is the file in which PPC saves the SMS' Database?
Facing pretty much the same problem while trying to transfer my text messages from my N73 into my Vario II.

All messages Mail+SMS are kept in an IMAP file in the Databases directory.

Jeyo is very 'Hit n Miss' with any version of Outlook other than 2007. I have the old 2002 on my PC and it invariably crashes Outlook at startup but works flawlessly with 2007 in my laptop.
Download the Outlook 2007 trial from Microsoft and see if it works with that.
Hi dude,
Can't even get the Jeyo client installed on my N73, I assume Symbian 9.1 is not supported yet - just sent an eMail to the support team to get that confirmed...
I also coulndt find a solution when I migrated to Kaiser from SE M600i.
I was able to take my contacts with me (via syncing with outlook) but not my sms and mms.
Very sad
Wow, guess I am not the only one who face the problem of transferring SMS/MMS from a nokia phone to a PPC.
Cheers

Jeyo Doesnt Help
I installed JEYO SYMBIAN on my laptop and i got all my SMS'es from NOKIA phone to sync with outlook. And then i installed the JEYO WM (Windows Mobile) and tried to sync my KAISER with the SMS directory in the OUTLOOK. BUT SADLY IT DIDNT WORK
It seems JEYO only syncs one way, i.e., it transfers SMS'es from the PHONE to OUTLOOK, but not from OUTLOOK to the PHONE.
So, sadly i think we will have to find another solution to this problem.
Hoping that there is one out there
P.S. Oh yes, and JEYO only supports SYMBIAN S60 and UIQ phones. It doesnt even support the S80 phones (NOKIA COMMUNICATORS)

Dude, you REALLY need to stop posting stuff when you don't know what you're talking about. He was asking where the PPC stores mail and SMS. That is stored in the root directory of the device within the pim.vol file.

OK, sorry I was thinking about account settings...So why didn't YOU answer the guy???
OH and BTW, pim.vol (IE PIM personal Information Manager) is only for contact/appnt info!!!
Check your facts.
We know how to move them, we are talking about SMS's which are held in an IMAP file!!
Move your message storage to your SD card and see which file goes!
EDIT: Be useful, not negative!
I guess DUTTYTHROY is the only person i see who can help us with this problem. Im gonna PM him, but if others also do the same for this ISSUE, then maybe he might volunteer to help.
We might even PAY him for this solution.
SHOW OF HANDS PLEASE FOR THIS CAUSE
Hi
I want to migrate sms and contacts from my nokia 6630 to tytn ii. I synced the contacts using the microsoft outlook express bu the problem is in my nokia i had some contacts with 5-6 numbers but all didnt get updated to tytn ii. Only 2 numbers went into it. How can i correct it? And is there any way so i can migrate sms from my older niokia to tytn ii.
Another question, is there some wallet like functionality for tytn ii ? where i can store some private information?
Thanks and Regards
Tushar
no reply on thi???
take a look at Jeyo range of products for transferring the SMS and contacts from the Nokia devices to Outlook (don't use Outlook Express!). Then you can sync with ActiveSync to the Windows Mobile device.
As for Wallet - there are various products on the market, try Spb Wallet it has a free trial available - with no limits (I think it's 15 day free trial, but it definiately has 30 day money back guarantee if you buy it and don't like it). Nothing to lose!
Since I got my kaiser I always saved all my contacts as outlook. Lately I find myself using/testing different phones that are not necesarry WM. Is there a way to copy all your contacts phones on the sim card? Or some kind of interface between different softwares out there Nokia/Sony/Apple?
Thnx
just gonna say, this site is for WM users, specifically HTC device users. now as far as software that allows you to easily transfer contacts from phone to phone, your sim card, you need nothing else just keep all contacts on your SIM and you have your contacts on any phone you use
Thanks and I do appreciate your answer. I am aware xda site caters to WM devices. However I know some ppl here have more than one device and I did hope they know about some kind of soft.
Is there an easy way of transfering outlook contacts onto the sim card?
sim manager can copy all contacts to sim. Depending on the rom, sim manager should be in programs folder. hit menu -> contacts to sim.
if its a windows mobile to windows mobile contact transfer, a simple PIM backup, would do the job. (do a backup on contacts, logs, whatever you want and put that file onto the other wm device)
good luck!
thanks... that did the trick. I do feel stupid sometimes and this is one of those times.
Don't feel that way. I understand your question, and copying to SIM card does not solve your problem if you got more than 200 contacts right? Mine has 900 contacts with mobile phones, work phones, home phones, emails, etc, hence why I used WM device. It's getting overwhelming to manage if I use standard phone.
---
1st of all, you need a PC with MS Outlook installed.
Synchronize your WM device to PC's MS Outlook (don't ask me how to do this, okay). Then if you have Nokia, you have to install Nokia PC Suite, the latest version if possible (try search nokia website). After that, you sync your Nokia to your PC (using the USB data cable, if you don't have any, find one) also to MS Outlook. So you kind of making MS Outlook as your central repository.
With this I believe you can sync to any phone, provided that the phone has ability to do syncing, has the USB data cable, and has the sync software that can do sync to MS Outlook. That's all the prerequisites, AFAIK. And I can tell you that most synch-er apps is at least compatible with MS Outlook.
It's different story if you use something else, such as: Lotus Notes or whatnots. Then it will be very difficult.
There, hope it helps.

Hi guys,
I had W960i before...i have the backup of the contacts of the phone through SE backup manager...can u guys tell me ,is there any way i can transfer the contacts to my new Diamond..
cos i dont remember the phone numbers now n its difficult to add each n every contacts one by one..
plz guys help me
Try import your contact into the Outlook and edit your contact in Outlook!! Install As and sync.
Or try send the contact via bt. I think SE can send all contact.
or send it via bluetooth.
Hello, it's my first post in this great forum, i'm a total newby to WM6, but looking forward to learn
I'm in the same case, I've got a SE P1i, and will receive my diamond this week. You can create an account to www.zyb.com, then you will be able to synchronize your w960's contacts and calendar over the air with this account, and you can get them on your diamond by synchronizing it with the same zyb account.
That's what I will do as I don't use Windows OS on my PC, and can't transfer by bluetooth as I have only 1 sim card.

Have anyone tried this? Or any other successfull solution?
Transfer by bluetooth keep failing for me...
I used w880i before.
Just i used float's mobile agent ( http://fma.sourceforge.net/index2.htm freeware - best app ever ), i synchronized my mobile via bluetooth, and got my contacts on my notebook, in this application.
Also in fma, when you're in your contact list, you can select the ones you want, and if you right click, you can synchronize with outlook.
Then you can easily plug your Diamond, and use activesync and outlook to manage all your contacts.
That's it

first save all your contacts on your sd card with your nokia after that use this programm
http://syncwiz.4team.biz/
you can convert to right format to sync with outlook .
I did it without any problems

Your N' Series Nokia should sync with Outlook without the need for any 3rd party programs. When you use the Nokia PC Suite it should automatically sync your contacts to outlook.
Then when you first plug your Diamond into the PC it will sync them to it.

Yep i ws going to say the same...my contacts were on my nokia n95 8gb and i synched it using outlook. Once i got my Diamond...all i did was connect the phone to my laptop and it synched with outlook.
Thanks all for the info..
Dude easy as hell just bluetooth all your contacts to the diamon, the diamond recognizes that they are contacts and stores them perfectly, i did this today, migrating form a nokia 7710.
Hope it helps
PS: Select all contacts then bluetooth them over not one by one should take you 2 minutes.
Cheers!
