Copy contacts to SIM?

Is there an app that allows you to export your contacts to sim?
I started writing one based off the source so you would have an additional button in the contacts to Export Contacts instead of just Import them, but the emulator has no support for the SIM so I can't verify that it worked. I had since deleted it.
I was wondering if anyone had written anything like this yet?
I read somwhere the contact app in hero could do that.. but i cant test because im not going to hero untill its juicy and stable

Yeah, as far as I know (unfortunately) there is no way to go from the G1 to the SIM, only the other way around.
However, if you're on a T-Mobile SIM card, what I have heard yet never tried was using the new T-Mobile app called "Mobile Backup." It saves all the contacts and other misc. things from your phone onto a web server with your T-Mobile account. You can then transfer anything on this Mobile Backup to another T-Mobile phone. So what might be worth a shot is to transfer everything onto a phone that supports writing to the SIM card, and then put it back on the G1.
Personally, Gmail works great at this
I have JACHero 2.6.3 and i just checked the contact app to see if there was an export to sim option, but sadly, only import. Sorry.

The mobile backup works pretty well. If you have access to M$ Exchange you could always have all of your contacts back up to that (Or google contacts for that matter)
There are 2 ways you can do it. Buy one of those usb sim reader...$5 at Fry's or in Hero.
SIM Card Backup
I have an HTC HD2 running Android 2.3 with the rom build on a Nexus One. As with every rom I have flashed before, i loose all my contacts and messages. I want to put my contacts on my SIM card rather than my 4g microSD card which is now full. Searching the Android (Google Play) Store there have been no apps that have been able to help me with this.
Any suggestions?
make sure you are using google sync. i have flashed too many roms to count and never has google sync failed me. if you log onto your gmail from a computer you will see your contacts saved there, if not you need to make sure you choose to sync contacts in the settings menu on your phone.
if you dont like this option for whatever reason than just get a bigger sd card or transfer files to your computer

[Q] Sync via Wifi not edge/3G - Galaxy S

Hi Guys,
I noticed all the data syncs (google syncs in particular like GoMarks, then a currency program i have ) going on with galaxy s (froyo) - if i turn data comm off - it doesnt sync via wifi.
comparing with iphone - you could have all sync via wifi.
Am I doing something wrong ?
Thx
not sure what is wrong with your phone, if anything.
but my calendar, emails, phone book and other stuff syncs normally when i'm on WiFi
check your settings perhaps?
did you install any app that might give you some choices related to that?
It may be that your wifi has not all ports open.
sync uses gtalk for the push notifications. Check if you can connect to gtalk when on wifi.

[Q] sync contacts with outlook 2007 problem

Been using the Galaxy S as a second multi-media device while waiting for the official 2.2 to be released by O2 UK (don't want to risk any unofficial firmware update due to the 3 button combo, not being available on this device).
The Galaxy can see contacts on the Sim card, but I want to sync it with my contacts in Outlook 2007. When I connect the phone to Kies (latest version), Kies shows my contacts and when I ask it to sync with outlook, the progress bar appears and successfully completes, but when I disconnect the phone, the outlook contacts have not been transfered to the phone.
I don't want to use Google contacts but simply transfer contacts (name, address, email) to the Galaxy S from Outlook 2007.
What should I do ?
Maybe its not displayed because its not set up to? goto contacts and click on options/more/display options and play around with it. I think you want to look at PHONE setting but I don't know as I don't use kies and everything for me is set to GMAIL/GOOGLE only as i've had bad experiences with leaving numbers in phones and sim cards (if you loose the phone you loose both)
Beautiful...That done it (display options). Thanks

Need a good way to transfer ALL contacts, no root.

I need a good way to transfer all contacts from an old HTC Hero to an HTC Evo 4g (old one) without rooting and not through import/export in contacts app. Preferably a way to do so straight from the Hero to the Evo. Anyone know what to use? I'm doing this for my step dad so I can get his old Hero to root and install custom ROMs on to start my rooting journey.

Are the contacts store directly on the phone? By default contacts are created and store to the google account, so logging into his google account on the evo 4g should bring all his contacts. If not then your best bet is to use bluetooth, and I believe this app will send them all in one shot, which I don't believe you can do with android 2.1.

Now when I want to get my contacts on Galaxy S Plus, it seems that I can't because the format is different (.spb). How to I solve this? :-s
