Does anyone have any idea if there is a volume hack solution compatible with the captivate? My media volume is fine but i find the ringtones are just not loud enough when compared to my "volume hacked" G1...
There is an app on the market called mixget which is supposed to boost volume. Im still trying to play with it as i have not figured out how to use it properly yet. I havent noticed any volume increases yet even after installing the update zip the app creates for you but im probably doing something wrong

When i listen througn headphones, the volume is quite low. I then increase the volume on the button and I can see the slider move to the right on the screen but the actual volume doesnt change. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi,
If using the original earbuds, there's also a rocker-button on one of the leads...
You could always give Voodoo Control a try, assuming you are rooted.
Be careful with it though as the dev says '...this AMP is a beast' !
The speakers are way too loud even on lowest volume when I am alone in my room. I don't need the speaker to be blasting at me when im playing Angry Birds or something. Anything I can do about that?
Update: Trying out an app called Fine Volume Control 2. It was the only thing I could find that did what I want, unfortunately, it seems extremely inconsistent and buggy.
Update 2: Uninstalled Fine Volume Control 2, wayyy too inconsistent and buggy. Still looking for any suggestions.

try volume control apps, like volume control +
Having the same problem. Feels a bit loud at the lowest volume

I cant guarantee this works as I am STILL waiting for my HTC One to arrive here in Australia but when I had my aweful Galaxy Nexus I used a app called Volume+ to turn the volume up as it was so low you couldn't hear it ring. I remember the app also allowed you to turn the volume down. Worth a try.
Volume+ doesn't work for JB so useless for me.
Volume Control+ seems to be just an app with all the volume control sliders in one place which is useless.
There's a update to fix the volume to make it lower don't know if it's out yet it is if you got a custom rom

Ugh... I wished they'd release their fixes already. There is this volume thing and also the 3 dot menu thing.
Bump. Still looking for a solution.
I remember reading about the Music Volume EQ app (on, I believe, Phandroid?) and people said they had some luck with messing with the equalizer settings on this app to turn the volume down for the One. Haven't tried it for myself though.
Yes, if you use the Music Volume EQ app and turn all the equalizer settings down to -15 and the volume down to 1, the speakers are much more quiet!
Yep, using Music Volume EQ for now. Still not as good as having a integrated option, but can live with it for now.
They should of made a slider volume instead of in steps!
I am wondering if anyone knows of an app or a mod now that I have rooted my xperia T, that will allow me to control all the different volumes as one.
I find having sepperate volumes for everything more of a hinderance than a help, Id be quite happy to go back to the days of my old Nokia 3310 where I had a single volume switch for everything.
Also if this is possible I would also like to make the phone lock all volumes to max when a bluetooth audio connection is made, I have managed to do this with volume control+, but havnt found a way of controlling all the volumes at the same time with that app.
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give
Hi There,
Just a week back, volume on my headphone while listening to media was fine.
I don't know what broke this, I downloaded some apps and updated lot of already installed app and now the volume while listening to media is TOO LOW.
Couple of other interesting facts
1) when I choose any song from google music(stored in my phone library), for a fraction of second the volume is loud enough, but immediately it goes real low.
2) Another interesting fact, some one shared a song with me via bluetooth and when I play that song directly from bluetooth directory then the headphone volume is fine. But if I move the song to Music directory and pick it from google music, it gives the same issue, mentioned in point 1.
Can anyone guide, how can I debug this?

Do you have some auto-levels setting on someplace that levels all of your music to the same volume? You may have to search around for it.
well, no auto level setting anywhere.
Also, I didn't find any option like that in settings either.
One more observation today, low volume problem occurs only in case I select a media file from music player(google, I'm using default), however if there is a playlist I'm listening too and when the next songs plays the volume becomes normal.
So, for the time being I have a workaround but I guess some upgrade has messed with volume level.
I have the same issue, have you found any actual solution?
Hi,
After getting my MOTO X back from a repair and with up-to-date Android 4.4.4, I suddently got the same problem: the volume is first high, then it goes down by itself, no matter from which source.
Have you found a real solution for this?
Close any chrome tab, maybe is a video in the background.

I got a lot of good suggestions in my weather app app post.
Let's hear your thought on Volume apps ... ones that work well with Lollipop ... have new material design.
Thanks for your input
Not sure what volume app means. For better sound viper4android is the bomb. Havnt had it work right yet for this phone but I've seen other who have.

I have used viper prior for the nice boost.
What I need is app for controlling All the Volume levels as built in sound controls always leave something to be desired.
I've always used AudioManager, it continues to serve me well on lollipop. I mostly use it for volume profiles.
I really want something for the volume via Bluetooth. it's really low I can't stand it anymore
I remember an app named volume+ that worked well to higher the volume of the phone but not sure if it still works. I hope they come up with a flashable zip to boost the volume. My headphone volume is really low.
