I actually found this thread via a Google search.. If anyone else comes looking for a solution to this, you can try a paid app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.livelogcat&feature=search_result

I updated my galaxy with KIES,and after restarting my phone go to logo SAMSUNG and vibrate every minut. And then is dark screen.
I can`t go into recovery or download mode.
What can i do?
First of all you could have it posted in QnA
Second, use search.
And third -> Go to recovery mode (vol+ + home + power)
do hard reset and wipe cache.
Report if it helps
Of course you will lose ur settings, accounts...
Maybe try first wipe-cache only.
I think you didn`t read my post carefully, I wrote that I can not get into recovery mode.

why not just simply pull your battery, and enter recover mode again?

3-Button-Combo Bug? Why you haven't fixed it before flashing another firmware?
You've bricked your Phone.
U have usb debugging on? If yes try 'adb reboot recovery'
If no download mode, no recovery... Samsung only can help.
Hey guys,
I posted in a thread in Q&A.

I just want to be clear ...
So I last night I flashed JPK, PDA/MODEM/CSC with 512pit installed latest oneclick lag fix 2.1.1, SGS tools and other basic apps. Was running perfect all night except that RAM seemed to be eaten up easily.
Then this morning Advanced Task Killer Froyo Beta started acting up. So I tried a reboot and then I got this black screen issue.
Tried reflashing JPK again. Just successfully flashed JH2 but still the black screen.
Recovery/Download mode work. With 2.2 recovery mode I was getting SDCARD connect errors on screen, but since JH2 I don't see them. Tried wiping cache partition, and factory reset. Still black screen. I've tried without external SD and SIM and just recently with external SD.
In this JH2 recovery mode "update media, finished" and Apllyting MultiCSC works properly too. When in recovery mode, Kies tries to recognize it, but boot/blackscreen I get nothing.
Is there anything else I can try? I have read through this whole thread, but it's a lot to read and understand. Anything with ADB? When in recovery mode ADB shell returns a device not found

can you go as past the boot screen?
are you able to issue commands?
I can't get past the boot screen on either FW
there was a topic in the Dev forum with some people that were able to successfully come back to 2.1 after flashing 2.2
but i don't remember the tittle of the topic
they originally had the same problem you have reported
if you can find it, then you'll be able to use the same methods they used to come back to a funtional 2.1
I've looked. I tried going to 2.1 but it's the same issue.
New thin though. I now have a image frozen on screen of a box with an arrow coming out of it and the android standing next to it.
What does that mean?
How you get there?

You can't get to USB Debugging unless your phone is working.
It's my issue too, but I at least have the 3 button combo.
If you got debugging mode turned on in settings:
On a PC download android sdk, open command window in tools directory...
type "adb reboot recovery"
But I dont think it may help at all, its just to make u step forward
If you dont have debugging mode turned on in settings:
Only samsung.
i have a friend who's galaxy s is stuck on boot screen. he was trying to update a rom and then it crashed. he used to have the 3 button download mode but now it's not working either. any help would be great. i tried to do some searching but i could only find how to fix it if you have the 3 button download mode. please help, thanks
edit: sorry i meant to post this in Q&A. can it be moved by a mod?
Try and search for the micro usb mod. With a resistor you can jumpstart the phone into download mode.

As the stickies say make sure you have three button recovery working before you flash ROMS!!!!!
Hello guys.
I flashed the galaxy S on Odin with no files attached.
Now the phone will not respond at all. I have tried everything but, there is no lights or reaction as ever. Is this fixable?
I have ordered a JIG but i doent have to much expectations.
Regards Morten
It doesn't even turn on? Try taking the battery out for a few minutes.
Yes thats correct. It happend after flash.
Starting to think if the battery stopped working.
There is no sign of life at all.
The battery was fully charged.
Have tried your suggestion. With no luck.
Edit: Hmm, i have tested the battery now and it shows 4 volt between + and -.
So that shouldnt be the problem.
Is your phone can get into Download Mode? if can then can be safe

Yes I know it was stupid. I had a PIT file connected.
And didnt know what i was doing. I couldnt dream of
the program would flash over bootloader.
But i learned and have to pay the price for it.
You can fix it with usb Jig or there is a tutorial for Captive that you can use on your phone and put it in download mode. I think for that you jave to install linux, hemindail and java. Also, you will need to install android sdk for adb reboot recovery command Search the forum, the fix is already there
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Take out battery and hold 3 button combo for download mode. Than insert battery and it should throw u to downloading.
How is it possible to flash nothing? Doesn't odin warn you if you got "nothing"?
Should be fixed in next ver.
Download Mode "bricked"
Hi,
My Download Mode is working (3 buttons function), but the Win7 isn`t recognizing as Odin...(I`ve already tried to resolve USB drivers troubles but I think that is not the right option...other Samsung Androids are working weel)
So I am not able to flash anything trough Odin...and the CWM 3.0 show me many "E: unknown moun/ storage"...it`s impossible to restore or install an update.zip for example.
What can I do?
Hello, folks!
I have a Milestone with stock android (2.1 I guess, after an OTA update from the provider) that was in the drawer for ca. 2 years because the POWER/VOL/CAM flat cable was bad. I changed the cable, was able to boot normally one or twice.
Now the phone freezes with the white motorola symbol.
When I turn it on with PWR + D-pad UP, I get into the bootloader v. 90.73.
Werid thing is that when I try to boot into recovery (PWR + CAMERA), I still get into the bootloader, so I can't get into recovery to try installing another rom to circumbent the boot lock-up.
Ideas to solve this?
Thanks!
It seems like your bootloader is corrupted.
If i were you, i would upgrade it to the latest version (90.78) and try with it.
(Also you should consider using CM7 or even CM10.)
Thanks!
How can I upgrade the bootloader? Is there a zip or an img file somewhere to push?
I dont know exactly, i didnt have to do it before.
I'm pretty sure, you can brick your device with this if something goes wrong.
I think you will need the following:
-Drivers
-RSDLite
-proper SBF file from here
But i dont know if you need to boot into bootloader mode or something.
Please, be very-very careful, maybe you should wait if someone with more knowledge gives you any advice.

Well, thanks anyway.
Did you manage to get the Device manage to take the new boot loader via usb?
If it did load the SBL try loading the vulnerable recovery sbf then put open recovery on to your SD card. If you can get that fair then I'd imagine you could load a new OS on to it without much issue. Lots of guides out there.

Hi folks, First of all I would like to note that I have not found similar threads to the specific problem I have encountered. and now to the problem itself: A few hours ago i tried to Root my device, and after I flashed the appropriate file using the stock CWM the device tried to restart but then he just hangs on the screen with the samsung logo of the device and not turn on. Furthermore I cannot get to CWM or download mode by the combination of the buttons. Any kind of help would be really appreciated as this is very urgent because I use this phone on a daily basis. thanks in advance.
Edit: I tried to remove and insert the battery several times but it did not help and stuck on the samsung boot logo again.
P.S. Sorry for the various spelling mistakes that I might have.

maybe it is bricked.
Seems like a brick if you cannot enter download mode. Can you list the exact steps you carried out? Which ROM were you earlier on etc...

I am currently running a previous version of this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1970626
I was trying to root my device via this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2217840
(method 2) and downloaded the XXLSZ .zip file and flashed it through the stock recovery. These are all the steps that I did, I guess.
Are you serious? no download mode? that's terrible.
adb works from recovery but i don't know what you can do with that alone.
